Professional installation of Win7 on a U300s

I am trying to install Windows 7 Professional on my U300s so that I can connect to my server from domain of work.

When I hit the "Install now" button I get the message "a required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing."  Nothing don't seems to do help. I tried to boot from USB STick, USB DVD drive, selecting pilots in the D: drive but I can't past its point of installation.

After searching online, I changed the SATA of RAMA to the compatibility setting, but this has no effect.

Anyone know how I can get around this?

Thank you

Dave

I managed to solve the problem by running Win 7 Pro install from the installation media when home a run. Worked like a charm.

I had a computer crash and made a new installation of Win7 and restoring all files to Carbonite.  I managed to get 5 LR running in LR.  However, I don't know that I have all my previous catalogs. How can I find my catalogs to make sure I have a complete inventory of all my catalogs.

If you have downloaded all the files Carbonite, then the question is, are your catalog never included in the Carbonite backup in the first place?

If so, then all you have to do is look for *. LRCAT file.

  • A clean installation of Win7 Pro 64 Bit OS SP1 maintains the search for updates. (Error 0 x 80070005 windows update)

Hi, I recently formatted my HD and clean installed with an older version of Win7 Pro SP1 x 64 OS, I more than a week now looking online for help, but nothing is. Windows Update appears to hang "search for updates". I don't presume that my Pc is virus free because of a clean install, so I'm not sure that Microsoft stopped providing updates for older versions of windows or not. I also tried to upgrade to OS 64-bit win10 everything works fine with the installation until it reaches "search for updates" which also hangs and does not download updates, I tried Microsoft stand-alone install also but who doesn't either. I also tried running "Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool" results are lower. I also tried to reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on the Microsoft Web site and found a windows "0x80070005" error code also known as "access denied." Something to do with registry permissions I think. A boot minimum, then run the Microsoft fixit would fix the issue im having with windows update.

  • HP Pavilion 17-g101nu: installation of Win7 Hard Drives NOT FOUND

I just bought a new HP Pavilion 17-g101nu and tried to install Win7 on USB.

During installation, there is no drive to sellect as when the operating system must be installed.

    What can I do?

I found people on the use of the internet a sort of burnt laptop drivers CD and then install them while on the process of installation of the window. Who will also work?

I have also not found any settings in the BIOS on the formats of SATA and so on.

I thank the of for playback.

(I have no idea if this is the right place to ask, but just bought this laptop with only of BACK).

    Hello:

First you must make sure that you have entered in the BIOS and enabled legacy mode that must disable secure boot.

Then see if the response marked resolved in the link below allows you to install W7 from your USB key.

Your laptop is the same chipset and the 6th series of processor gen like the one referenced in the message.

  • Professional installation of Windows7 64 bit OS

I have 2 computers Compaq with Vista Home Basic or Premium installed as OEM

I want now to upgrade to Windows7 Professional 64 bit OS and find that it requires a "clean" installation

How can I run a clean install and maintain the unique system of partitioning and recovery Compaq?

Hope I can get the answer to this niggling question

    Thank you

    Brian

OK thanks for your comments... It is as I thought

I already made the new facility both of my computers and find the Compaq recovery partition has been deleted leaving me with a D: partition without data

In my view, is not an exercise of customer on part of HP to offer not a follow-up after the expiration of the warranty

I know I tried to get a response from HP and because computers are out of the warranty period they dod do not want to know

In my opinion, they should offer a consultation service at least

I opted for the 32-bit version I would have been able to improve and maintain the partitionsand all my files etc, but I thought that I would install W7 64-bit version on Desktop or laptop... maybe as I should be satisfied with the 32-bit version

At least I have a set of OEM recovery disks just in case I want to go back to the original

Regarding computers, that they are working correctly then maybe I am too picky, asking for the partitioning of Compaq

  • Installation of Win7 x 64 SP1 with junctions

    Hello

    I have a Win7 x 64 install on a 64 GB SSD HARD drive with (Program Files, program (x 86) file, Windows\Temp, users, Windows\Logs) Junctioned all on a Raid 0 array...

This is a lot of technical sense as long as it removes the heavy wrote far SSD, but also the largest directories have room to expand :-)

Installation works perfectly... until SP1, it would seem that he cannot digest junctions :-(

Windows Update gives a rather bland failure (80070011), an installation of downloaded SP1 (7601.17514.101119 - 1850_Update_Sp_Wave1 - GRMSP1.1_DVD.iso) gives a text much more enlightning (ERROR_NOT_SAME_DEVICE(0x80070011)... error

Is there any other work aroound another reinstall SP1 without junctions, apply SP1 and then re-junctions?

It seems a little off as MS provide some nice symbolic links so do not use them!

    Hi John.Berry,

Unfortunately, there is no other work around installing Windows 7 service pack without using junctions.

Using junctions to move system folders can cause unforeseen problems.

    I hope this helps!

the laptop HP Pavilion G6-2010AX with FREEDOS. I need help!

    Hello

Sometimes, as you have discovered, installing Windows 7 from a DVD can be a little difficult for various reasons. If you were able to boot from the Windows 7 DVD, then you did what you had to do.

I highly recommend to use a support USB thumbdrive for fast and reliable Windows 7 installation. You will need a USB thumbdrive, which is 4 GB.

You will need to create it with Microsoft on another PC that is running Windows 7 or 8 utiity. Download and run tool Windows 7 USB DVD Download from the Microsoft store.

The download link and instructions is on the web page in the previous link. You will need your Microsoft Windows 7 DVD and license key (during the installation process of Windows 7).

    Best regards

  • Windows XP Professional installation

I am trying to install Windows XP Professional, and towards the end of the installation, I get the blue screen telling me that Windows has detected an error and stops, and begins a memory dump.

I have a 1 T Seagate HD and a DG43GT Intel motherboard with a processor Intel Core 2 Quad 4 (64-bit).  No floppy drive - CD/DVD only.  SATA set to IDE in the BIOS and the BIOS updated to the latest version.

    Any help?

I had to integrate SP2 into XP Pro installation cd.  Once this was done the installation (using Nlite) was perfect.  Updated Intel drivers and am in business.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
