Professional looking for colors

Hello

I know this question may sound vague, but I hope that most people will know what I mean.

I'm looking to improve the overall appearance of the Web sites that I produce.

One thing I noticed on the really great looking websites that I would love to imitate is, that the colors, open especially in the area of solid color really pop off the screen.

I want to get an idea how to really really bright and dynamic look color blocks and not dish?

Currently, I have photoshop CS4.

Thank you very much

Mark

Mark,

Try working with transitions of color, such as gradients, blends, transparencies and bevel, emboss and other effects (using terms of Illustrator).
