Program security

How to classify a program a safe to start up?  As it is, I have a digital detection program that is blocked by Windows defender on each boot and I want it to run at startup.

Hello bobwise,

If some programs are blocked by Windows Defender, this problem occurs because a program or a service that has User Account Control (UAC) restrictions tries to start during the startup process of Windows Vista or the connection process.

Here is an article that you can consult to solve the problem of blocked startup programs:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/930367

You should be able to allow this program to start.

Thank you

    Hello

If you go through general significance, do not use "management of security lists (deprecated)".

Also, in short, if you want all your responsibility to work according to the method of security attached with them, you must run the program 'Management of security lists' on a regular basis.

  • Security Essentials blocking site program to access sites...

I use Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows Vista... Since the installation of the program security... my Web site creator cannot access my Web site because the security program locks... How to allow access?

My guess is that Security Essentials saw this as a threat and it blocked it.

Open the Security Essentials program. You will see three sections of files and processes excluded. Check each one to see if your program is listed. Highlight and select Delete.

    I hope this helps

  • QuickTime security

Given the recent problems with the QuickTime streaming program security and improvement of media, are we vulnerable? Apple has now abandoned the security support for the QuickTime program! Where does this leave us? Those of us who have programs that have on our system that requires the QuickTime platform to operate properly! Will be Apple version for these programs, patches and/or us to uninstall them!

  • Satellite Pro A40 and F-Secure

    Hi all

I thought I'd share a recent experience with you all:

I was shopping a new anti-virus program and thought I'd try a few versions to test first to see that it fits my needs better before parting with my money. Taking care to try only one program at a time, I loaded a trial of F-Secure Anti-virus (download from their own website). When I tried to install it, he insisted that I uninstalled a few other programs first including Ad-aware SE, I did to avoid conflict.

At the end of installation, I restarted Windows XP Pro as instructed, to see that after login Windows, little or no progress was made to load every startup programs usual.

I systematically enabled and disabled in each program to see where the start was not and found very quickly that whatever this is vaguely related to security caused a software conflict of one kind or another, including anti-spyware WinCleaner and Zone Alarm Pro. It seemed a bit strange to me that I need to disable the firewall, so I uninstalled F-Secure Anti-virus and another program installed antivirus instead.

I am now using Kaspersky Anti-virus instead, with all my other programs security running with no problems.

It may have simply been an isolated case where I just had an unlucky combination of the hardware and software, or maybe the version of F-Secure, I had was not install properly, that it in either it didn't work so I thought I would let you all know and hopefully save someone else the frustration and inconvenience...

    Hi Graeme

Thanks for posting about your experience. To protect my house specifications, I use Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition and ZoneAlarm. I use both of them for about two years and so far I didn't have problems with the virus. From time to time also use Ad-aware SE.

I noticed that many applications need a lot of CPU activity antivir while running in the background.

    Bye and good luck!

Restart the computer in Safe Mode with network.

Click Start > run > type inetcpl.cpl > click OK. In the Internet Options window, click the Connections tab > LAN Settings button. When the new window opens, place a check in the box auto detect settings and remove the box to use a Proxy. Click Ok and close the windows.

  • Win 8 to 8.1 Win free update on Qosmio X 870 - 13U

How can I get this upgrade? Installation stops at 54% whenever I try. What's wrong? I get these messages: 0xc190010b and 0x8007001f, especially the last e.

    Hi months

Googling around you will find a lot of comments and discussions on this topic. Obviously a lot of people have the same problem with the Win8.1 update.
I found very interesting explanation and I want happened here for you. Test it.

Try to disconnect all external devices and make sure that you have installed all the updates of Windows including the driver in option and the updates of the firmware.

    Method 1:
If you have installed a third party such as antivirus/firewall program security software, they can interfere with the installation. I suggest to temporarily disable and check if you are able to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I you suggest to start the computer in a clean boot state and then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1.
A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts and determine what is the cause of the problem. Perform a clean boot on the computer by following the steps in the link:

How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista
