• PSE9 seems to cause a change in the display on the video card ATI Radeon Mobility in Win7

  Recently, I had some problems with my Dell StudioXPS 4650 and had to return the computer to its factory delivery configuration.  Then I reinstalled all my programs to it.  This whole process took a couple of weeks.  Things re-installed a Creative Suite Production Pro (CS 5.5).  The all last program I have re-installed, a few days before, was PhotoShop Elements 9.  Almost immediately after I started having display problems!  As mentioned in the title of the question, I have a videocard ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670 with 1 GB of RAM video.  I have a processor Intel i5 with 6 GB of RAM.  Oh Yes... Win 7 Pro x 64.

  Anyway... any time the graphics loading gets "heavy" (busy), such as open several Web pages, view a video in Media Player, etc, the screen fills with noise, random groups of pixels, and do one of two things-clear up and give me the message that the video driver failed and resets or go to a BSOD!

  As I say, it started once I have re-installed PSE9 and I had a similar problem (usually restricted this year to the actual graphics programs such as PS 5.5) after the installation of PSE9 the first time, so I feel that PES should be somehow at fault!

  I don't mean to blame someone or something like that, I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem and, if so, how they resolved/fixed!  All this, of course, is based on the question, "PSE9 does anything in Control Panel during installation, which could explain this?

  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

  I don't think that items is the cause, it is usually the display card drivers that cause this.

  Make sure you update your display driver on the ATI site not through windows update.

• The effects of PSE9 group lost miniatures and subcategory

  I use PSE9 on your desktop Win7

  After no problem for years, all of a sudden the thumbnails and subcategories disappeared from my effects Panel. I could not find a way to get back them.

  The four category icons still appear, but they do not work in the effect controls panel. Filter class works through the menu but it is the only, and I can't make it work through the effect controls panel.

  I thought that if I reinstalled it PSE9, that could bring everything back - but when I went to do the DVD wanted to uninstall. I don't know if I'll lose my files if I uninstall so I'm afraid to do so.

  What should I do to get my Panel effects return to normal?

  Well you can see the .atn files at the following location:

  C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\9.0\Photo Creations\photo effects

  If so, please try to build the Mediadatabase.db3 file.

  Here are the steps:

  1. go to the location: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\9.0\Locale\en_us

  2. you will find the file Mediadatabase.db3

  3. move it to one different location other than the folder. (office for example)

  4. now restart your editor.

  5. don't do anything for the next 5-10 minutes until the database generates again (you machine can be hanged but do nothing).

  Try this and see if it solves your problem.

  I wonder I should uninstall PSE9 before installing PSE10, because I have a lot of trouble with PSE9 tools does not properly. PSE9 give is so loaded PSE10 on the same computer problems or are they completely separate programs? You have to Reset tools all the time in PSE10, as PSE9?. I tried all the fixes for the reset tool PSE9. Thank you.

• PSE9: Easy access to the most popular

  I am running PSE9 on Win7.

  I make very heavy use of key words. They are a great way to manage my collection.

  And I ended up with a heck of a lot of labels.

  However, for daily use I find that there are often four tags that I use all the time.

  For example, we took a trip recently and almost all of the images have to be my wife

  or our two dogs in them. I end up having to scroll a lot in the keyword Panel

  to get the right pair. I was wondering if there is something like a "most frequently used" or

  "most recently used" feature that is available with the keyword tags?

  Otherwise, any ideas? One thought I had was to create a new category like "most frequently used".

  Then somehow 'move' these tags of the population and other categories to the new

  Most frequently used category.

  1. Why not just use the search bar?  Typing the two first letters focus on the images with that tag.  Although there are other images with these letters in their filenames or the legends, will they appear too.
  2. You can create this new category as you described and drag the keywords in the keyword tags in this category using the keyword Panel.

• Question by PSE9: uninstall-reinstall

  I have to disable (Editor/help/disable) until I have uninstall - reinstall PSE9 on the same PC (WIN7/64) of a CD?

  Activation is related to the material, it is not absolutely necessary to disable it if you have reinstalled on the same drive, but it is prudent to do so, in case something happens like a disk failure hard until you can get the reinstalled program.

• Location of the PSE9 catalog files?

  I would like to know the location of the file system where the organizing PSE9 catalog files.  I want to be sure I have properly, saving not only my photos.

  I would like to know the location (path) for MacOSX versions both Win7.

  I can't find the answer in the manual, Quick Guide, nor the book Missing Manual of BB.

  I tried to uninstall and reinstall only - no chance.

  For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

  The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

• Connection PC Win7 for iMac USB printer

  Until yesterday, I had a printer is connected (USB connection) to a Time Capsule, and our laptop Windows 7 given the printer and would print it. But due to persistent problems with airport part not always wanted to connect with our satellite internet, I went to a separate router and the stop of the part of the airport. The Mac has been able to print to the printer, but the Win7 PC could not. Then I moved the printer (USB connection) to the iMac, but I still can't the Win7 PC to see the printer. I tried several methods but were unsuccessful.

  Anyone has a suggestion or a position that could help? I found a ticket to Microsoft I've tried, but it does not match what the current software. I use OS X 10.11.6.

  I'm planning on dumping, in the future the Win7 system and buy a new Mac, but until now, I need help.

  These backup files are compressed and not human readable. You can use it to completely replace your current set of bookmarks using the rollback feature (see beyond the dates at the bottom of the menu "Choose file...).

• TBird 31.5.0 to 31.6.0 update. Download now unable to connect. Have stopped/started TBird and even restarted Win7. Any suggestions?

  On the second PC, worked with Tbird 31.5.0. Advice needed to level. Started automatic level to 31.6.0. Immediately restart TBird, I received the message unable to connect to live.mozellamessaging.com instead of normal greeting on half lower the window. If I try to do a "get Messages", the following message at the bottom tells " pop.earthlink.net connection as it is so, but it just hangs there.»
  I restarted TBird and even rebooted the system Win7 nothing helps. I watched the TBird account settings and they seem OK. Any suggestions on where to start?
