Purchase Alienware 18...

I was just wondering... The company has not added the port of the amplifier to their laptops? But what about the 18 alienware? It has the amplifier port too? I hope that it is... cause I want a large screen. But if it doesn't I'm going to buy probably comes from alienware 17... cause you can just use the amp graphic if a new graphics card appears. And I know the office graphics card for desktop computers are less expensive than the laptop computer graphics card. What im saying is so... updated for alienware 17... will be cheaper cause you just put the graphics card on the amp and the alienware 18 would be more expensive... If it is not compatible with the amp...

From what I can tell, the 18 was introduced a year or two he is, and then abandoned in the North American, then slightly updated and this market again as something of little time.  Thus, it seems that they do not have update the motherboard with the port of the amplifier.

The physical hard disk (solid state or record) is not serious for the operating system that is installed on.  As long as the drive is a standard interface and does not require special drivers not work (and most don't), you should have no problem.

The recovery disks you are using are set to read specific information about the motherboard and as long as there is this particular information, that it is looking she will be triggered and doesn't have to go online to activate as the retail of Windows is required to do.  The only problem with this type of activation, it's that if the motherboard fails ever it should be replaced with a similar brand and model or autonomous activation fails and the operating system is an OEM version that is related to this motherboard and cannot be enabled on a newer replacement.
  • Broadcom netlink gigabit card does not connect to 1 Gbit/s, auto negotiate connects to 10 Mbps

    Hello

I am very satisfied with my purchase Alienware Aurora ALX and happy to be part of this community.  However, I have this problem:

Does not connect to 1 Gbps Ethernet adapter; Here's what I've tried so far:

    (1) confirmed that my router is able to support Gigabit Ethernet.  I have two other devices connected to the same speed (an old PC and NAS).

    (2) when I set the speed and duplex of the adapter auto negotiate, it will connect to 10 Mbps

    (3) I noticed that there is no setting for 1000 Mbps in speed and duplex options.

    (4) I tried 100 full duplex MB, it will connect, but my Internet connection slows down less than 1 Mbps (I'm on a 15Mbps connection and test the other PC it could reach around 14Mbps).

    (5) I then tried 100 MB half duplex, it will also link and my overall network performance is good.

    (6) I have confirmed that I have the current driver from Dell. I've had the computer for 3 days (using windows 7 by the way).

    (7) I tried all ports on my router and confirmed that the side of the router has also been on auto negotiate and not trying to force a specific speed.

I hope someone has a solution or suggestion for this problem.

    Kind regards

    Jason

    * SOLUTION * thanks in part to the previous article.

Here is the Giga speed solution that worked for my new Dell Studio 1458.  I've read a lot about speeds slow xfer using the Broadcom NetLink LAN connection.

There were two things I did not initially, but were in fact true.

    (1) you must use a CAT 6 line on ALL your machines capable of gigabit.  I though that a good line of Cat5e support giga speeds.  This isn't.

Card Dell NetLink is apparently, some initial negotiations with your router (a bit ' as a fax machine), then after seeing all of your connections.

    It will drop the xfer rate down to the lowest common component (i.e. the Cat5e cable).  And;

    (2) map of NetLink won't give you giga speeds in automatic selection (advanced ethernet properties, speed & duplex).  The speed and the duplex window will never

view 1000 MB!  You can check if your is10/100/1000 connection by double clicking on the icon of your connection to the Local network.

I checked the speed of my connection giga via a test utility and transferring a 200meg file.  The results indicate an increase in the speed of 12 MB/s to 26 MB/s.

These figures do not show a factor of ten speeds increase, we'd all have (so much), but they are in line with transfer rates of others.

    I hope this helps!

  • Alienware M17X battery knows a permanent failure

    September 30, 2016.

I am the owner of an Alienware M17X R3 model I purchased in November of 2015.

I had noticed that my machine seems to experience performance several questions when the battery shows it was plugged in, but do not load. Naturally, when the computer is disconnected and reconnected to power, this issue seems to be fixed. However, I remember that on September 9, I had unplugged the power, and my computer had armored black before my eyes.

As I began once more my computer, I received the message that my battery has known a permanent failure and had to be replaced. In the hope of a solution, I began to ask one of my colleagues on my problem, their response was that my battery was included and was therefore irreplaceable. However, I had contacted an expert who offered their services to install the battery they need the correct model.

I started looking for some common types of battery online, but none of them have good customer customer, some stating that the battery didn't fit with their computer, or declared not satisfactory on condition of their model. I decided to reject buying stacks of marketing unreliable or non-official.

My question is where to find the correct battery type who fixed my computer and how? I prowled around which I guess is the stock of Dell, but I can't find the battery I want.

I'm still currently a college student, and I can't be away from my computer for more than seven days. This should explain why I can't send my machine to the manufacturer for repair.

My family and I are traveling in cross-country skiing for the wedding of my sister in November, so I'll need a working computer at work of our arrival. Is there a possible solution to this?

Wait patiently for a response. Thank you very much for your time!

  • Alienware R5 Ram

I just got an Alienware R5 with 8 GB of ram and I am looking to buy 4 GB of ram, I really don't like this is how fancy, it's just to give it a little more juice. I was wondering what size use, ram comes in many different sizes for the pins and I was wondering if someone could help me with that.  Thanks in advance.

The Aurora-R5 specifications page says that 12 GB is not a supported configuration. So, you will need to purchase two 4GB 2133 MHz DDR4 sticks. Which would give you a total of 16 GB.

As far as I know, Dell will not sell or export a computer to another country, other than the United States, you can buy a Dell of Dell in Australia.

  • Alienware X 51 R2 random reboots.

Hello. I purchased and received an Alienware X 51 R2 June 1, 2014. It worked perfectly fine for the first day I got it. Now every day for no reason at all, if it's just sitting idle, if I'm trying to watch a video, play a game etc... It restarts only randomly. As a first step, the screen goes black, and at the same time, it seems that the fan goes crazy. He sits where dust cannot easily enter as well as in a cool room. No matter if I just start the computer after giving 7 hours of rest, it may restart. At first I thought that nothing of it, but now after that suffer every day it becomes a depressing to go machine. Y at - it restarts anyway I can't stop these random?

Finally, after 5 dell tech guy visits... without that no lasting solution to the problem of repetitive, I managed to solve my problem of my own. It turns out that Dell sells computers with low power/quality PSU to satisfy its system requirements. I bougth a R2 of Alienware X 51 with a core i7 4730, 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HD and Nvidia GTX 760... all of this supported by a 330 Watt PSU... While only this Nvidia card requires 500W... www.GeForce.com/.../Specifications

    Data sheet thermal and electric:
Temperature of the GPU CMaximum 97 (in C)

170 WGraphics map of power (W)
WMinimum 500 recommended system power (W)
Besides the power consumption of the rest of the equipment in its normal or maximum capacity.
In addition, the tiny case design translates by poor ventilation and even worse heat build up inside, affecting the normal operation of the equipment.
So, how I solved this? Well I had to spend extra money to buy a new, bigger and better ventilated case and a 700 watt normal POWER supply, disassemble the whole machine and reorganize all the material in the case of new.  And only of that s how I solved it.
Summary: Dell sells a very bad hardware configuration/equipment design and does not give the necessary support to its customers.
  • New Alienware 13 R2 OLED at best buy

I bought and returned the new 13 R2 OLED Best Buy Alienware laptop. I bought it with anticipation to a fast SSD drive, because it comes with a slow 500 GB hard drive on a regular basis. I took apart and Alienware does not all ports for one SSD. It makes no sense, I wanted to put a SSD 950 PRO NVMe 512 GB SSD Samsung in the laptop. Save time and not buy one, I ended up ordering just the high-end off Alienware's website.

It looks like from the manual that if you get the version with a HARD drive, you get the HARD drive and the caddy that comes with it, however, if you get the SSD version, they have a daughter and caddy card that replaces the HARD drive in the same dwelling.  You could have called Dell and purchased the caddy SSD maybe.  The device is so small that they cannot be able to have both installed.

  • Alienware Aurora R4 MIO ALX Board question

Hello everyone, I know that this subject and I am about to talk about problem has been discussed over and over again, but I have no where else to turn and do not know how to solve a problem, I have so I'll simplify as much as possible. So basically, I had a case of Aurora ALX of R4 and modified with the motherboard and custom components. I have done all the research before hand and found that particular mother that I would work with the alienware command center and mio Board. I ordered the case and motherboard off ebay I got someone who did the case and all the wires for a living it all for me. I got the case and after a few months rose money to put everything. I finished installing all the operating system (Windows 7 Home premium) all the drivers for the motherboard, my graphics card and set to update everything, including windows. The only problem I encounter is that fans are running high, I can't control the lights, or install Command Center, and the MIO Board is not displayed in my device manager its listed as an unknown device.  Here are the things that I've done so far to resolve the MIO Board.

1 turn off the computer and removed the power cord then the power button which took place a minute with the power cord removed and plugged the power cord and back on my PC, then checked the Device Manager it says its installed driver software but its still listed as unknown.

    2. installed and reinstalled the command center twice, but doesn't not work or do anything, since the jury is not recognized, the software can't find it.

3 opportunity Alienware software 32 bit Diagnostics to run the hardware test to see if the Board of Directors in the list it does not work.

    4. install a driver for Asus thermal control that I thought would fix a thermal error that appears in the command center, but did not.

    5. Finally, tried to change the usb cable that connects to the motherboard MIO Board via a header different usb then made power dissapation thing as described above and still no luck.

So I'm a bit of ideas right now, I can't say if Miss me just one type of software/driver or if I need more recent or not. The Council is still fresh and is not bricked I know, due to the fact that the two lights on the MIO card are still on a bright blue LED one and LED light orange so. Also, when I unplugged the usb cable of the MIO card to the motherboard, fans are silent and all lights work but when I plug it in again and then fans are on max and the lights are out. Any advice/Input would be greatly appreciated.

    Specifications of the computer:

CPU Intel I7 to 4.0 Ghz

    Motherboard Asus Maximus VII gene

    ASUS Nvidia Geforce GtX 950

    16 GB Corsair Ram revenge

you posted in lastnight here 22:00, but I have not my notify til today. Bravo, you seem to have picked a winner & get your lights.

When you have purchased your case & decided to install Windows on a hard disk, this 1st time you booted up, your lights should have at the same time you see your Bios screen & ejected from your dvd tray. Note There are no windows or drivers, just a simple interaction between your gross motherboard bios & mio Board. If I was to eject all my hard drives & turn on my pc, my lights will be lit, my mio Board 'works' without a hard drive. It is hard to say why your last Board was not, however the new works, let's get some software installed for it.

When you started in 7, you might have kept an eye out in your bar to look for the driver past to install, possibly got a desktop "device driver installation" dialog box or similar, as your way of knowing. Since there is no clear indication in your device manager, you can select USB (& peripheral next HID), Action > search the hardware changes, see what he does.

Whatever it is, it was me, I would then try to install CC 2.8.9; If the installation fails (error platform), copy / save your temporary files in the temp folder, it created, that you did the last time. When a CC install fails, Council MIO get flashed with the firmware, so spend 2.7 CC, see what happens.

How should OK, I put it.

Steps back one, pretend that I did not install 2.8.9. If your curiosity is not satisfied on the windows driver, you can disconnect mio usb, power up / power off, reconnect it shows your systray icon & driver dialog box to see if windows install this driver mio; It will take place without connection, next time he "sees", it it will reinstall the driver, which is the raison d'etre. From there, try installing 2.8.9. Consider this an optional step, if when, earlier you scanned for changes on the usb/hid equipment & 'nothing. '

What I will say is just me speaking aloud. I noticed that you do not want to move to a CC under 2.6. However, if a version 2.5 recommended by Justin is what you end up with, but you do not want to go back so far (I suppose that you fear a brick flashing firmware), you can try this:

    • put power off, disconnect mio usb, turn on
    • install CC 2.5 hard disk, do not restart, shut down.
    • Reconnect mio usb, power up.
    • Look at your systray icon / installation of the Office driver mio dialog box.
    • launch CmndCntr 2.5, see if it 'works', lights change color, fans have cruise control manual etc.

It is a workaround, you have installed CmndCntr without the IMU with the firmware flashing & you will be relying on the firmware, it has been flashed with advance by the last owner. If all goes well it is harmony & it all works. If you are satisfied, let it be. You are finished. If for any reason you are not satisfied that, later, you want to try to flash the jury, 2.5 CC to uninstall / reinstall, cross your fingers as we all do, simple as that.

Note: turn off automatic updates of CC

the tips here are to not allow an automatic update, for fear of a brick, do not allow

    Hello

Respawn is intended to be used on a single computer only, but if it is not operated on 2 computers at the same time it might work on your new Alienware. If you can, please send me a personal message with the new serial number, AlienRespawn upgrade screen and email that you used to make the purchase.
