Purchase new mac pro, processor speed or hardrive book size?

I am looking to buy a new mac book pro with the retina. I was curious, I have to spend money on a bigger hard-rive (ssd 128 256 or 512) or switch on the processor speed 2.7 or 2.9?

Actually, I disagree with respect.  Photoshop makes good use of a large multi-core system.

I use a desktop PC top of range 12 core for more than a year.  Hyperthreading gives me 24 logical processors.

A lot of Photoshop uses all of the logical processors whenever possible.  Which means that the system is available for your use as much more quickly.

How long can you complete the radial blur on the next page reference (it's just a Radial blur the simple of a medium sized image)?  My system it ends well less than 10 seconds.

    http://ksimonian.com/blog/2010/02/24/improved-Photoshop-benchmark-CPU-speed-test-for-both-Mac-PC-free-radial-blur-filter-test/

    Here is my result:

Based on my knowledge of Intel processors, I think that the new Mac Pro with the latest Xeons top range will run this test in an unprecedented 5 to 6 seconds.  If your system takes more time, it's a person with a powerful multi-core system may be doing things in Photoshop while you wait for seconds.

In addition, large systems - especially those with ultra-high throughput of e/s (like the Mac Pro will) - multitasking VERY well.  The new Mac Pro provides a disk subsystem gargantuan high-speed flash memory.  I had to build a matrix RAID of SSD to achieve this performance.

Virtually nobody has seen yet Photoshop run as well as he is going to run on this new platform.

  • Resonance noise coming from new Mac Pro

    Hi all!

I picked up recently a late 2013 6 mac pro core. I once owned a mac Mini 4 core i7 model quiet whisper. I hooked all my cables similarly to the way I had with my mac Mini. Now the question is, when im downloading with download accelerator or transfer files in both feel between my server, I can hear sound coming from my new Mac Pro resonance frequency. This only happens when im connected by ethernet. If I disable ethernet and use wifi, this noise is more audible! Is this a common problem! My new Mac Pro would already have problems!

    Thanks in advance

    -Anthony-

RE: noises reported in Mac Pro end 2013.

There was an initial report of a noise called "Reel whining", launched by the power under certain conditions.

Those who could demonstrate the problem got their power supplies replaced under warranty.

Of course, those who have done nothing and waited for the next version of the software solve the problem have nothing except maybe a headache.

If this is a NEW Mac Pro, back at the origin of the seller ASAP. If you purchased at Apple in the United States, you can get the unit replaced with 14 days of receipt - the Genius Bar or you local Apple authorized service provider.

If others, it becomes a problem to repair.

  • MAC Pro tower to new MAC Pro upgrade

Currently, I have a MAC Pro Tower and will be upgraded for the new MAC Pro, probably within 6 months.

At the present time, I have 1 HD SSD (with programs and the OS on it) and 3 hard drives regularly in-house.  One of the internal HD contains the data of my programs, while the other two are used for backups, etc.

    Here are my questions:

I plan to go with the 256 GB SSD drive in the new MAC Pro, but my question is can I get another internal HD (SSD, or other) to store my data?

I plan on the withdrawal of the other HD and their use for external storage, should I do access these drives with the new MAC Pro?

I currently have 3 external HD used to store photos and movies, I'm going to him again able to use with the new MAC Pro?

I have speakers external, purchased from the Apple Store, they will work with the new MAC Pro?

I have several printers, a scanner and on my current MAC Pro Tower, they will work on the new MAC Pro?

I would just move the stuff of my current MAC Pro Tour (programs, operating system, data) for the new MAC Pro, this is something Apple can do for me?

Needless to say, I am grateful for any help I can get in that case.

    Thank you.

1 - 2013 cylinder Mac Pro can have only a single storage device internal. Cannot add another.

I would opt for the 500 GB one.

2 - Likley Yes but yo don't say how they are related to the tour D'Argent. The 2013 has four USB 3 and 6 ports Thunderbolt Mac you can get a bolt of lightning > adopter FireWire

    3 see # 2

4 - Yes the speaker, if the USB or 3.5 mm will work

5 - the printer and scanner will work if there are drivers that are supported on El Capitan. You have not specified the OSX version on your silver tower

    6. I've heard rumors that you will now pay Apple to move information to a new system, but you should check. You can do it yourself. It is not difficult. See:

  • Big screen for the new Mac Pro

Looking to buy a new Mac Pro.  I like to work while sitting on the couch with my feet supported, but a laptop is not very good for usability, and my neck has had enough.  So, I think trying to upgrade a number of things and to combine the entertainment center with work stations, so I can do both comfortably from my couch.  Ideally I would love it if Apple made a gigantic Retina display, but as they do not have, my current theory includes a 48 "-52" class 4 K HDTV connected to a surround sound via HDMI system, which hangs in turn a blu - Ray player and a Mac Pro via HDMI.

If someone has done something similar?  I'm assuming that, unlike the old flat screen TV model at work sometimes I mirror my iPad on, a 4 K Pixelize text.  Is this correct?  Or should I still the same problem?  As far as the projectors are a pain, which is the only really good solution here?  Any other question, I would need to know that displays the parameters or incompatibilities if I went with the 4 K HDTV?

May be useful to take a look at http://www.macrumors.com/guide/4k-5k-displays-buyers-guide-mac/ which covers the 4 K screen with Apple hardware support pretty well.

You will encounter one of the limits is the HDMI output on the current Mac Pro supports only 4K at 30 Hz not full 60 Hz, which we are used to on most screens. You can watch a form of Thunderbolt to the HDMI connection for display to work properly at 60 Hz.

  • Acer K272HUL and new Mac Pro

    Hi all

I am considering getting a new Mac Pro, and I have three screens WQHD (2560 x 1440) of 27-inch Acer K272HUL I want to connect to it. This view has

2 x HDMI, 1 x DVI (W/HDCP), 1 x Display Port (in), 1 x Display Port (output) for the entries. Can someone tell me if I would be able to connect all three of them for the new Mac Pro and if so what would be the best way to connect to them and what cables or adapters I need. It would appear that the first simple HDMI to HDMI, but for the other two I don't know which would be best. I don't know if there is a bolt of Thunder to port display cable and I think you used to be able to string two views on display but port do not know if this is an option here. Any help on the best scenario and required cables would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, the Mac 2013 pro can take care of three of these monitors.

Best is to get three mini displayport > display port cable. $10 each

You can connect one via HDMI on the Mac port, but mini displayport/displayport is preferable.

To use the input DVI you need of a displayport mini $99 > DVI adapter.

Make sure that you connect each monitor to a separate Thunderbolt bus.

  • Cinema screen compatible with the new mac pro?

My old Mac Pro work view movies (bought new in 2008) with the new Mac Pro?

Yes. Use a Mini DisplayPort or HDMI to DVI; a screen 30 inches requires a Mini DisplayPort connector to DVI double bond one.
