Purge the cache of OBIEE in ODI

Hello experts,

I have ETL running on a server of the ODI and OBIEE running on another server (both Windows Server 2008 R2). I want to purge the cache of OBIEE in calling a batch file after all charges ETL are made.

What would be the best way to do this? Please notify.

Thanks in advance!

Hello.

I hope is not so late to help on this.

You try to use the Event of voting table.

Refer to this: http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/event_table

You just need to implement an ODI interface to load the table with the correct information to clear the cache (check Gerardnico message inserted properly in the event Polling Table)

I spotted a problem with that.

The UPDATE_TS attribute in the table must be unique, or in your ETL, you must ensure that no duplicate datetime will be inserted in this table. This attribute is the key for the purging of the Cache. This may seem ridiculous to say this, but if you use a bulk insert and variable with date information hour all your records in the event of voting Table can end with the same date time. This will cause a problem and your cache is not deleted.

See you soon.

    Hello

the problem is that OBIEE 10.1.3.4.0 ha a bug, see the support document SAPurgeCacheByTable and SAPurgeCacheByDatabase not working do not [787797.1 ID].

The bug is logged as a Bug 6906535 and it resolved in the next version which is 11.1.

Currently, there is no difficulty for 10.1.3.4.

Support proposes to use SAPurgeAllCache() to work around the problem.

    I hope it helps.

Is there a way to reset by keypad, including clearing the cache:

Launch Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS down) until the dialog box reset settings is displayed. Select all three options-reset preferences, reset workspaces Standard and all miniature Purge Cache - and then click OK.

  • By using the nqcmd command to purge the cache

    It's ok in the server,

now, I want to run this command at another machine, as I want to use informatica to invoke this how to purge the cache at the time.

    How to do?
    Thank you in advance!

Assume that the column name is etl_end_time

Agents can be controlled using reports (analysis in 11 g). There is a tab Condition while creating agents that can be used to control the agents according to the report.

Lets say u create a false report. In what you put a dummy column. In the Edit Form dialog box, use the TIMESTAMPDIFF function to compare your etl_end_time and current_time.

Lets say you set the TIMESTAMPDIFF function returns the difference in minutes. Then create a filter on this column with operator greater than or equal to and the value that say 1 minute (it's your choice)

If this report now returns true when the difference between timestamps is greater than 1 minute (which means that it will become true 1 minute after the etl is complete). Then assume that you configure the agent to check the status of all the 1 minute at a time given when the agent is running, the report returns true and agent is triggered

This officer will then call you purge command

Of course, you can add another filter to the fake report as less than or equal to 5 minutes because the difference of the timestamp of the current time and the previous etl also runs will be greater than 1 minute ;) To make sure only the latest time end etl is used, you can add a second filter as has just said.

Phew... hope so :) I made myself clear

Mac or PC? Version of the OS? What version of CS?

Have you tried to reset the bridge? CTRL (Windows) / Opt (Mac) + click on the bridge to start icon and select open boxes.

Otherwise, you could manually delete the cache, but we need to know the answers to questions to say where he is.

I have a page with 3 active cache regions. Is there a way to purge the cache on a specific region?

There is an apex_util.cache_purge_by_page of the API which clears the cache for the entire page, which isn't what I want.

In addition, there are an apex_util.purge_regions_by_name procedure.

  • Bridge CC asked to purge the Cache but freezes when I try to do

Use the bridge on a Mac. Whenever I open the bridge, an error message appears asking to clear Cache via preferences - but when I try to do, it freezes.

In fact, even before trying to clear the cache, if I try to navigate to a different folder on the bridge it freezes also.

Ransacked the bridge, he downloaded again and reinstalled - problem persists.

    What should I do?

If the cache is large, the purge can take some time. But I guess, to 'freeze' you mean it won't thaw more.

Try using a different cache folder location.
