Question about upgrading to windows 7 to 8/8.1
Upgrade my laptop Windows 7 to 8/8.1 voids my warranty remaining? I have 3 years total, however, is 1 year warranty manufacturer and the other 2 are extra. Year 1 manufacturing mandate passed some time and now I have the 2 years (which is almost up) will be upgraded to Windows 8 Sub he left?
Hello
The upgrade of operations / software should not void the warranty but if you where to return for repair under warranty they can restore to the original (so backups)
Hope that answers your question.

Questions about upgrading to Windows 8/8.1 of Windows 7
Original title: if I'm updated to Win7 x 64 x 64 Win8 and possibly Win8.1 Pro - install Question (and a few others) - I forgot
It's been so long that I've updated that I can't remember (and feel stupid because it)-is it possible to update the OS without losing everything and having to reinstall absolutely everything (programs, drivers, etc.) and re-apply your settings (folder ranges, etc.)?
I also have Office 2013 Home and Business that I still have to install.
I think part of the reason why I'm hesitant is because I remember it took me a month of tinkering to get things e path, I wanted to put them again, and I don't want to have to put a lot more effort in.
Also, I am on a PC, so not tech drag on the screen for me.
Oh and hey - anyone know what they mean when they say "you need a TV Tuner to watch shows in Media Center"? Is this just dongle a little or something that I can get, or is it rather to tie really a 'cable' in my Inbox? Summer of wonder on this subject. Will I need another box my cable to connect to my PC company or what is a TV tuner, exactly?
Any help and information would be deeply and appreciated muchly.

Questions about upgrading Vista to Windows 7 for free as it was offered once?
Several years ago I got when I was with Windows XP I spoke to Microsoft and said I could use the 64-bit and 32-bit disk on different computers, by using the same product key, but there are certain requirements. I think the 2 computers were to be in the same place and I was the owner. I'm a little hazy on the rules, but I know that I learned that I could use both versions 32 and 64 different bits with the same key. I have a desktop running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional and a laptop running Vista. Both are registered for me, but the laptop was a gift from our son for the wife who is disabled and never leaves the House except for visits to the doctor. It comes preinstalled with Vista, but there were so many problems with Vista, Microsoft offers an automatic upgrade to Windows 7 at the time. I never took advantage of this because Best Buy, where the laptop was purchased, wanted to get paid to do the upgrade. My wife is now having a lot of trouble with various programs with Vista, I have two disc of Windows 7 Professional, I received directly from Microsoft, a 32-bit and 64-bit. There is only 1 button, but I learned the upgrade to Windows 7 was supposed to be free. I have much more knowledge now and can install the update myself, but can I use the 32 bit disc and the very key to do. Otherwise, I would use the 32-bit disk and get a new key? Where can I get a new key for the Vista upgrade to Windows 7 for free as it was offered once?

Yes, and you can use it to activate on the same computer architecture.

Ask about upgrading to Windows 10 in Windows 7.
Original title: Windows 10
I have Windows7 64 - bit OS. Pop up to install free Windows10 is annoying to say the least. While I appreciate the option to install the latest free OS, I hesitate because:
(1) I'm not sure to have enough RAM, especially since I already have problems with how I use the computer, loads of the ESC-keeping open all the time, receive messages that my RAM is running low. (2) I don't know how much space it will take, although it seems that I would have plenty since I have more than 50% of my hard drive free. (3) others in the Community said to be hesitant because it is not always perfect; (4) without upgrading to Windows8, I'm not sure it's wise to go through 2 OS and I don't want a complication cause me to reinstall my Windows7 on the road, especially since I don't have and don't has never, the disc of the operating system as it was already installed on my laptop when I bought it from BestBuy.
So, what do you propose? Buy another computer with Windows 10 already installed?
Windows 10 is perfect? Or, does still having Windows8, as well as issues of 8.1?
Thank you.
Mary Ann
Hello
Thank you for showing your interest for Windows 10. I will definitely help you with this.
I share a few Microsoft help articles that can help you to clarify your doubts. Sometimes we face compatibility problems with drivers after the upgrade to Windows 10, but it's fixable. Your computer may run slowly if it doesn't have around 16 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk. You can run Disk Cleanup to delete unnecessary files and folders from your computer.
You can go through the compatibility for Windows 10 report
Also, check specification

Satellite A350D - 20K - Question about upgrade second HDD + Temperature
I have a question about my laptop. I have notticed it is a second location of HARD disk on the bottom.
Is it possible to use this to increase my storage?
And if yes, how do I do that? I don't see all the connectors.
What type of HARD drive to use in case it is possible to use this slot machine? My second question is on my laptop to be very hot after a short period of use.
I installed speedfan to record the temperature. When I start the laptop, it already is between 45 and 50 degrees.
He stayed there for half an hour and then it starts to get warmer. When I start to use the laptop for anything, it triggers to between 70 and 80 degrees. This does not seem normal to me. I tried to clean the vents with compressed air, but it has not made a difference.
I searched on the internet how to take the laptop part for proparly cleaned TI.
But I can't so I'm looking that destroy it.This could be the cause and more importantly, how can I solve this problem?
Tom
The second HARD drive bay contains the HARD drive connectors?
If Yes, then you can use a SATA 2.5 HARD.
If there are no connectors, then you will not be able to use the second HARD drive> I have installed speedfan to record the temperature. CPU and GPU produce a lot of heat. The heat dissipation is always created then there s nothing unusual that the temperature rose to higher level.
You can change the settings in Win 7 power management. You can set the CPU to lower performance and can increase the activity of fan, which will help lower the temperature. -
I have to get another program to be able to read all my files from xp as in Word format?
Before you begin, you must run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
Be aware there is no such thing as an 'upgrade' from Windows XP to Windows 7 - it will be what is called a pure install, programs and settings will be lost during the upgrade. You can use the Windows Easy Transfer tool to collect files and other first:

Question about activation of Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate
Hi all
I've recently updated the OS on my computer laptop from Home Premium (Windows 7) supplied with the computer (I have activated the product) to ultimate (Windows 7) using an upgrade key. Now when I turn on my computer it says 3 days until automatic activation or activate now. I clicked activate now, but I apparently don't have the right key. I tried the upgrade button, but I was told that it cannot be used to activate the operating system. I also tried my original laptop computer product key but I was told that it will not now work with my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. I don't know what I can do. What will happen in 3 days? Can someone tell me if I have anything to worry about and what I can do to solve? Thanks in advance!
-Looks
Strange, strange.
First of all, where did you get your Windows 7 Ultimate license?
Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade came with a product key?
What type of upgrade, you did do, was an Express upgrade or did you do a custom clean install?
This is probably why you are experiencing the problem.
Try to update the product key and then again by phone:

Question about upgrading Windows 10 in Satellite Z830-10U
I see that the Satellite Z930 is supported for windows 10 Toshiba upgrades list, but no sign of Z830. I have a Z830-10U and trying to decide whetehr to resume the free update to windows 10 before it runs out in July 2016. Someone has done it successfully?
Although no rating by Toshiba, I just successfully upgraded my Z830 win 10 and everything seems to work. When win 10 was originally released my first attempt failed (blue screen and his motor boat) so I had to reinstall Win 8.
Before this second successful attempt, I checked with Toshiba to make sure the motherboard is compatible, downloaded "Driver of Talent" and drivers up-to-date and changed the power settings continuously to ensure no stops during installation...
All of it worked and now I WIN 10 work on my Z830. At this point I'm not sure works of Bluetooth which stopped when I upgraded from Win 7 to 8 Win.

Question about upgrade XP to Windows 7 box to reinstall
My pc was originally a XP box that I have upgraded in place to Windows 7 Professional. I do a few hardware upgrades on this and has been playing with the idea of wiping everthing and do a fresh install. As far as I know that I am 100% genuine with Microsoft, but my product key says it's for XP. My plan was to reinstall from a disc of Windows 7 Pro and XP license key. Microsoft will allow me to do this?
Thanks for your replies. I've logged on to the Microsoft store and opened a chat help session. Belarc says my key for Windows 7 pro, but the paid version of jellybean said is was XP. The guys at Microsoft has taken my key number and verified it was for Windows 7 Pro and that I would have no problem doing a clean reinstall from disc, I have.

The question is...
I want to upgrade my portable computer system memory 3 GB DDR2 (800 MHz) RAM to 4 GB of RAM DDR3 (1066 MHz), which is compatible or not?
Respect,
enteoanaHello
In my opinion, you should follow specification not Intel and Toshiba. S Toshiba of info is based on own tests and facts.
So, depending on the specifications of Toshiba for the GM45 Chipset it is clearly written:Min(on Board) wheel capacity - DDR2 800 MHz 0 MB / 8 GB max
Type of extension of memory - DDR2 800 MHz 1 GB/2 GB/4 GB
Type of module - SO-DIMMSo if Toshiba write about 800 MHz modules, you must use the modules to them and not faster.
You may be able to use faster too, but they do not work with the maximum speed, but not going down to 800 MHz.If you want to use max RAM amount use recommended and tested 2 x 2 Go DDR2-800 (PA3669U-1M2G).
Indicated as compatible RAM, 4 GB DDR2-800 (PA3670U-1M4G).
