Question: RVS4000 reduce my bandwidth...

Howdy,

I've recently upgraded to a new internet service from Qwest here in the Denver area that offers 40 MB/s down and 20 MB/sec upward.  I have two questions:

  1. When I connected my laptop directly to the DSL Modem (ZyXEL model Qwest Q100), I've had about this speed.  But when I connect my computer to the RVS-4000, I get only about 50% of the width of this band.  I use a cat5/5 10/100 ethernet cable.  My question is why my download speed has certainly declined from 40 MB/s to 20 mB/s?  I have NOT turned on QoS. The RVS4000 has firmware installed V1.3.2.0.
  2. I have a laptop and a desktop computer connected to the RVS4000 via a NetGear FS605v2 Ethernet switch.  When I run SpeedTest.com on the desktop, I get a latency of 20 to 30 ms.  When I run SpeedTest.com on the laptop, I get about the same download speed, about 50% of the upload speed of the computer desk and more 500ms latency.  Why is this?  And it is repeatable.  And no, I have not turned on QoS.   Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion!

Doug

First of all, I would like to start by disabling the IPS feature on the router. Try this and see if you get a speed increase.

Thank you

-What are the data transmitted by the agents on the Server OEM compressed somehow? I have limited available bandwidth and because it appears most of the data being downloaded are in XML format, compression would be an effective way to reduce bandwidth. Can someone give me information on the question of if the agents pass compressed data or how to do?

Are there other ways to reduce or control the use of bandwidth by OEM? Thank you

You can use ssh port forwarding (tunnel) to compress.

  • Question about reducing the project

I work in 2D and 3D animation in sequels for a living, and we do simple animations. I hosted a clock like 400 million times and its been old, I wonder if there is a simple way to reduce the project, while having the attached illustrator files and find so I can just slide in the after effects project to an already animated clock. Is there a good way to do this? We just tried and he keeps asking for the locations of the illustrator files.

I hope that my question is a bit clear

    Thank you

    Dylan

This may take 2 steps: first, make a copy of the project file (for security) and highlight ONLY the compositions you need for the clock.  Use the command scale down the project.  You now only have the images necessary to the project.  Then, use the command consolidate Footage - which will allow you to put copies of the model and the images in a specified folder.

You are finished.  Unless you are the AE CC 2015 - it was called wig on these orders.  If you are, that in 2014 CC AE or AE 2012.

  • Cisco-AIR-SAP3702I-A-K9, max and the degradation of bandwidth users?

    Hello

Sorry if somone is asked this question before, but I was unable to find the answer or by mail.

    So here's the intro:

    Symthom:

I installed and config with a 1240 AP G base still running the office to provide wireless connectivy, but users complain its slow.

Note: I went to check the PC users and a simple website with some pictures or even to test the connection speed, it is so slow

    Action:

I changed the AP with a new AIR-SAP3702I-A-K9, just basically, I copied and pasted the config by applying appropriate measures, like changing the fastethernet gigaethernet, etc..

It has improved a little, but I followed the PA and there are 3 SSID. each SSID was like around 6 users, for a total of 18 users.

    Results:

Sound still give the same results, he suddenly became so slow but sometimes its execution by the customer well, but relatively slow always.

    ******************************************************************************************************************************************************

Additional information and troubleshooting of the measures taken:

We have 100 Mbit/s, so its quite a lot of bandwidth and we use even to an all-time high of the day around 35Mbps. I went to test my PC local, changed to vlan and use the same vlan as the SSID to establish a speed test and I got about 98 MB/s and ping results is 2ms.

So that tells me that it is not the internet connection I have download file size of 2 GB in a couple of minutes cable using the same subnet, but in the wireless, it says it will take 2 hours to download a file of 200 MB in size.

I know that it is a shared, but I need more information that I'm not an expert in configuration or give a good explanation as to why the wireless is so slow.

I'm always conflicted with my classmates because they say that it is the access point, and that I should try only on PC wireless on the AP and check the results of the bandwidth.

They say I should get 100 Mbps

    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    Help in the following:

Who can tell me what is the maximum number of clients by this type of device (3700 AP series) or recommended?

Can what kind of measures I take to reduce this problem?

Who can tell me what is the bandwidth usage max for this AP?

They are correct, as if the AP with a connected users, should get the same huge amount of bandwidth or would be less?

Is it true that if a user is streaming and others want to suft normally, it will reduce the bandwidth?

What is the bandwidth max an AP can use or by customer taking into account that we have 100 Mbps?

Location: it's just a simple room with the inside AP, nothing special.

I've included the AP basic config. Any additional info, please let me know,

Here is the test that I made using the local wired in the same subnet as the SSID and I get good bandwidth.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Alex,

    1. first of all, a rule, you can use 25 users in a single (). If there is a normal traffic such as e-mail...).

    First troubleshooting:

you use wpa version 1 for all SSID. You must use WPA version 2 to get 802.11n rates (Higher).

So I'm changing your configuration, please check.

  • Bandwidth limits

We got 4 PC group residential all the connected to the router v7.0 of linksys wrt54g (which got 2 mb flash and cannot be improved with limits on the use of bandwidth for each port). To remedy this, I tried on 1 pc which is an older hp pavilion to reduce the bandwidth in the group windows 7 QoS policies advance settings by selecting the level 2 which should be 1-2 MB instead of the faster, which is 16 MB. But after the change and restart according to speedtest.net, it is still 16...

BTW, problem is of course that, when some users to download a large part through torrents, internet of the other pc will slow down.

All PC'm deepfreeze so when frozen, any State is again at the restart. If users are allowed to install something private, although should not be on the PC after the reboot.

  • Multiple simultaneous Bluetooth connections

I want to apologize to reproduce my post in another section here, but it seems that here my question would be more appropriate:

Is it possible for a Blackberry smartphone to function as a Master of Bluetooth in a Bluetooth PAN/piconet? In other words, it can open several ports series to accept/send data from/to several Bluetooth devices at the same time (of course it is not literally simultaneous, time interleaving in the reception/transmission processes effectively reduce the bandwidth for each link).

I am interested in having a continuous data BB device gains two Bluetooth - permit sensors that constantly streams of data through SPP/RFCOMM. A BB device would support such a scenario? I tried to test this scenario with the Blackberry Simulator, but the Simulator isn't compatible Bluetooth . I don't currently have a BB device to test this on, but I don't want to buy one and then find out that what I want to do is not applicable.

I was not able to find an appropriate response to this question, and I guess there are some developers who would be very happy if they could have an answer on this. Therefore, I would be very happy to help/clarification of one of the main developers or administrators of the forum that could shed light on this... ;-)

Is that someone who actually owns a BB device might try to get the next property that returns 'the maximum number of devices supported:

    LocalDevice.getProperty ("bluetooth.connected.devices.max");

    you just need to: import javax.bluetooth.LocalDevice;

In case, this property returns something greater than 0 or 1, then I can assume that several (up to 7 normally) simultaneous Bluetooth connections can be supported, in which case the available bandwidth would be shared between clients connected to the BB Phone, allowing all the function & communicate simultaneously.

I would be very grateful to anyone who could try this for me... (the above statement always translates into a NullPointerException in the Simulator)

As it can be seen in my post about it:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=9500&message.ID=37539#M37539

a BB device "BOLD" (that's all I can say for sure) is able to communicate with multiple devices Bluetooth SPP/ports simultaneously. The only thing that is needed, is to start a new thread to configure and monitor all serial ports.

  • You uninstall CS5.5 when. CS6 upgrade?

After the upgrade to cs6 cs5.5, I was surprised to realize after installation that both versions still exist on my system to 64-bit windows 7.  Also, I was surprised to NOT see CS5.5 in my control panel, even if it is installed and working and Cs6 is present in my folder of Control Panel programs.  How do uninstall you cs5.5 after installation of the cs6, realizing that none of the cs5.5 programs are available for uninstall after upgrade to cs6 in the control panel; but the two programs are still clearly installed and running.  Since I'm on a SSD as my hard drive I need real estate on my hard drive after you have uninstalled cs5.5.  Please notify.  Thank you.

Sometimes users will keep older versions of the Adobe software for compatibility reasons.  If they regularly work with users who use older versions of software, they have an older version installed as well for full compatibility.  I know that this has been the case with InDesign in the past, even if this question was reduced greatly in CS6.

In addition the users of third-party plug-ins or utlities could still also need to access the old version until the supplier third party releases and update plug/utility.

Finally, there is the curve of learning concerned to adapt to the latest version.  If you are in the middle of a creative project with an impending deadline, you can still use some older software until your due date has passed and you have the bandwidth in order to familiarize yourself with the new workflows and processes in the latest version.

Hope this helps?  It's the less many of the reasons for which users have given me over the years about why they still use or wish to keep the old version.  Personally I keep a few versions back installed but it is mainly to support purposes.

  • WDS Airport Roaming vs vs Extended Network

    Hello friends,

In a roaming network, all airports have the same wireless network name and wireless security settings. If I'm not mistaken in WDS also the same rule should be followed. Is also applicable to a network of Airport Extreme Extended (1 main base station connected to a broader base station)?

If this is the case then a user can move freely between these extremes of the airport with the same user name and password in any scenario 3. So what is the difference besides the AEs interconnected via ethernet and wireless in 3 different topology?

    Thank you.

In a roaming network, all airports have the same wireless network name and wireless security settings. If I'm not mistaken in WDS also the same rule should be followed.

It is basically correct. Routers for Apple, there are three types of networks "scopes": 1) expanded that using wireless connections between fixed stations, 2) Roaming using connections between base stations, & 3) Wireless Distribution System (WDS) wired. WDS uses also all wireless connections.

The first two replaced WDS that was designed to be used only with the old base station 802.11 g. He has a major advantage. You can extend a network in a series as employed the use of a "main", "relay", and "distance" base stations. This feature is not embedded with the new models, elongated or Roaming.

Is also applicable to a network of Airport Extreme Extended (1 main base station connected to a broader base station)?

For the most part, Yes. The extended base station that's exactly right and the extension of the primary Wi - Fi network. So it would have the same network name and use the same type of security and password.

If this is the case then a user can move freely between these extremes of the airport with the same user name and password in any scenario 3. So what is the difference besides the AEs interconnected via ethernet and wireless in 3 different topology?

The main difference is overall performance of bandwidth of a Wi - Fi. Maintaining an extensive network using wireless connections only requires treatment of additional network traffic. This overload can reduce the bandwidth available to normal wireless traffic. This problem does not exist with a roaming network.

The other problem with a network extended wireless all is loss of bandwidth. Each added to the extended network, base station reduces overall bandwidth almost in half. Again, this is not a problem with the network of mobile type.

Finally, with a network extended wireless all base stations which extend to extend the hand to the same bandwidth it receives from the hand to this place. So the wireless clients connected to one of the extension of base stations will produce ever and when then are connected to the main.

  • How can I configure Firefox Mobile to open webpages in default drive mode, so I use less resources and phone?

Maybe that is not an existing function, but I imagine that there is a setting for that somewhere in all: config. I want pages on my mobile to open in default drive mode, so that the player display button is pushed to turn this mode off, rather than on.

I want to do this for two reasons: first, so that the pages will not load not all ads (I'm particularly concerned about video ads) that sap resources from my phone and increase my use of data; and second, so that pages that are not optimized for mobile devices (which is a pretty large majority of pages that I tend to visit) will open in a more readable format.

I'm on a stand with a pricing plan based on consumption for data, so I want to use as little data as possible when you're away WI - FI. How can I view default drive Firefox Android opens pages to?

Mode reader must download the entire page before being able to analyze. It does not reduce the bandwidth used. An extension like adblock or uBlock hangs the content before it is downloaded.

  • Windows XP SP1 back to factory settings - unable to download SP3. any suggestions?

I just got back my computer to factory settings.  The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition with Service pack 1 installed.  I need to download and install Service Pack 3.  Can someone tell how can I do this?  Microsoft advises me to use automatic updates, but these work only after that service pack 3 is installed.  Any help would be appreciated

Before installing Service Pack 3, you must have at least Service Pack 1 installed on your machine.  If you have installed SP1, you must install SP1A or SP2 before installing SP3.  You can download these service packs as a single installation package to the link provided in the following article.  Ignore the verbiage that says 'For IT professional and developers' and others.  They put that it in order to reduce the bandwidth download when service packs were first relesed:

  • Overheating with Dv7-7238nr problem

    Hello

I wonder about the issues I'm having with my pc.

The hp coolsense does not seem to make any difference in my laptop

more heating problems.  I checked the forum topics that could help, but none seem to really work.

My laptop came originally with windows 8 installed but I reinstalled another OS several times now, and I'm

currently using Windows 7.  When I reinstalled I also reinstalled the coolsense driver for my computer.  He used to work

very well, but now it doesn't make a difference.  My fan is running whenever I'm playing games, and it warms up very quickly.

The main problem is when I'm playing games, but I suffer from performance problems when you play because of this.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello StuG,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that the computer has problems problems with CoolSense and overheating. I'll do what I can to help you!

First of all, I'll give you a generic document on HP CoolSense. It goes into details on the different versions, you can try and how to troubleshoot program aspects. For more information, here's the document: HP CoolSense technology

Then, I want to assure you that all basic troubleshooting is performed to solve your problem of overheating. The following documents contain all the troubleshooting steps necessary to cover all aspects of the question:

Reduce the heat inside the PC to avoid overheating

An overheating and Auto Shutdown problem troubleshooting

As a last suggestions, I think you need to return the computer for Windows 8. I suggest this because this computer has no Windows 7 drivers. After you have installed the incorrect drivers can cause the computer to overheat. Here is the website which refers to what drivers are available: ENVY HP dv7-7238nr Notebook PC drivers

I believe that these steps will help out you. Whatever it is, please provide your results. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Why the MCU is automatically added to the conferences in TMS?

    Info:

    Endpoints: Tandberg 6000 MXP & 95 MXP

    TMS: 13.2.2

Codian MCU 4510: Software version 4.4

    Tandberg GK: N6.3

    Tandberg BC: Q6.3

When I create a conference at TMS and want an end point to compose our system to an MCU on another site (confined), the our local MCU is automatically added to the Conference, for some reason any.  For example, if I create a conference with room 123 and number 'Dial Out' external 2222222, TMS adds MCU of our system and forces to compose both room 123 and 2222222, which is totally useless.  This should be simply, what is the endpoint is, a direct line to 2222222.  Why the MCU is being added?  This will use licenses MCU in haste when it is not necessary at all.

I went through TMS > administration tools > Configuration > General settings, network settings and conference settings and cannot understand why the MCU is added.  If we dial manually, no problem.  My goal is to automate the entire composition, however.

Pointers?  I put some of the parameters of the TMS > Admin Tools > Configuration > Conference settings below.

    Hello

Reduce the bandwidth of conference help? TMS could add a MCU if it detects that one or more participants do not support the bandwidth conference.

  • MCU transmit + H.263 instead of H.264

    Hi all

As you know, by configuring "Optimizing the size of video transmission" as "dynamic codec and resolution", MCU optimizes the video codec transmission and pass the resolution.

But how does the MCU determine video codec?

I wonder why MCU transmits video with H.263 + C20 (TC4.2) even if the MCU receives video with H.264 and there seems to be no factor to degrade the video codec (such as packet loss and so on).

    Best regards

    Kotaro Hashimoto

What is the bandwidth on call between MCU and C20?

Ideally, MCU lower resolution video/code if the original size of the video displayed (especially with the voice changer mode) is smaller than the outgoing video channel.

Also, if the remote end point to use control flow and reduces the bandwidth on the MCU main video transmission channel.

But also if call bandwidth is low, H.263 base with higher cadence (instead of H.264 video payload large base mind lower-rate) may choice as the best experience of video stream.

  • Best configuration of switch for 4 natachasery - 5 ESXi

So, I need to tell my boys to network how I want the configuration of ports (Cisco switches) for 4 natachasery connection to my HP DL 360. I need the vSwitch VM access to 3 different VLAN. I'm NOT going to use vMotion for this.

I guess, I see 2 possibilities and does not entirely undesrstand pros / cons...

First of all, I thought I would split the enet to 2 separate switches cables, but I was told that if I chose that this channel of ports 1 route would be active and 2nd would be Eve. Basically can not paste all 4 cards and divide them. This could reduce the bandwidth, but give me a redundancy using 2 physical switches.

Or I can have all 4 enet cables go to the same switch (etherchannel), but if this switch would die I'm dead in the water, AND I think that EtherChannel mode WE (my network guy preferred LACP) should stay and LACP cannot be used. According... http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & docTypeID = DT_KB_1_1 & externalId = 1004048 I think I should also use 'Hash IP' if EtherChannel is used.

So what is the advantage or disadvantages of each channel? Thank you!

This article describes the aggregation of ESX/ESXi links:

    • ESX/ESXi host only supports grouping NETWORK adapters on a single physical switch or stacked switches.
    • Aggregation of links is never supported on disparate networks switches.
    • The switch must be set to perform 802.3ad aggregation of links in static mode WE and the virtual switch must have its defined route based on the IP hashload balancing method.  Ensure that participants of the network adapters are connected to the ports configured on the same physical switch.
    • Allowing each route based on the IP hash without 802.3ad aggregation or vice versa disrupts networking, so you must make the changes to the virtual switch first. In this way, the service console is not available, but the physical switch management interface is, so you can activate the aggregation on the affected ports to restore network.
    • For more information on ESX networking concepts, see the VMware Virtual Networking Concepts.
    • For more information on configuring a VLAN for NIC teaming, see Configuration of VLAN Virtual Switch, switch physical and virtual machines (1003806).
    • To set up the consolidation of NETWORK cards on ESX and a physical switch, see example configuration of EtherChannel / link aggregation with ESX/ESXi and Cisco/HP switches (1004048).
    • The only option for switch vSwitch or vDistributed that can be used with balancing EtherChannel is HASH IP.
    • Do not use tag with IP HASH load balancing.
    • Do not uplinks configure standby or not well obliterated with IP HASH load balancing.
    • VMware takes support only a single Etherchannel by vSwitch or distributed vNetwork (vDS).

    heybuzzzz wrote:

In my case with no vMotion and just management and 3 VLAN all about 1 vSwitch I should put them all to active?

Yes, they should all be active, there is really no need passive adapters (that I'm aware of your configuration).

On your physical switches, you don't need to do anything more than what allows a VLAN correct, i.e.: should all etherchannel or a similar montage. Side vSwitch, you must use the default 'Port ID' nic teaming strategy.
