Questions about VCS, MCU, ISDN gateway license

Dear Expert.

I question of license on my next device.

(1) I have:

VCSC - 10 calls Non-traversal, crossing 100 calls license license

vcse - 5 traversal calls

If I register the mcu and the endpoint to the VCSC as the guardian h323.

I should have a 15 (5 calls traveral and 10 calls non-traversal) sites h323 conference call simultaneously on the MCU?

> If I record my MCUS and endpoints to the ISDN gateway as the guardian h323.

> I should be able to do an 18 sites (1 h323 calls and ISDN 17 * 128 Kbps) conference at the same time call

> on the MCU?

GK embarked on telepresence ISDN Gateway has no limitation for the number of concurrent calls.

Limitation is only for the registration number.

As gateway ISDN support audio connection gateway exclusively, with simultaneous simple T1 (T1 = 24 b, PRI = 23 b = D), maximum number of calls is superior to '18' as audio call consume only 1 b-channel.

  • Question about VCS 7.1 Media flow-thru

We currently have a way to call that looks like this:

Endpoint (SIP and H323) > VCS control > VCS - E (SIP and H323) neighbouring area > firewall > neighbouring area to the CUBE (NOT only).

When the VCS-E they interact SIP to H323 he directed media flow-thru allowing traffic through the firewall because it proxies all media and signaling.  However, if the call all the way SIP, it will proxy the call signaling but not the media.  Right now, we have it working, but we need to convert SIP H323 calls then back to SIP for it to work.

Is there a way to force the VCS-E to proxy all media to the CUBE, rather than some media of interoperability calls?  I know it's usually what a crossing area is for, but AFAIK that does not work when you use CUBE to VCS-E.

VCS - E has obviously the hardware capacity and processing to do this (because he now works via workarounds) so I hope that there is a way I can do a little more cleanly.

    Hello Nick!

I don't know your deployment, especially when you run a nearby area of the

VCS - c to the-e probably works, but you should know how it behaves for really knowing why

to use it, and a hack so save licenses is often not the best starting point.

You can configure the routing of locking media which will link the media to the vcs-e.

(this may not work with all types of areas, at least all the profiles of the area, but at least it does with custom)

*h xConfiguration Zones Zone [1..1000] Neighbor SIP MediaRouting Mode:

"Specifies how the VCS handles the media for calls to and from this neighbor, and where it will forward the media destined for this neighbor. Signaled: the media is always taken for calls to and from this neighbor. It will be forwarded as signaled in the SDP received from this neighbor. Latching: the media is always taken for calls to and from this neighbor. It will be forwarded to the IP address and port from which media from this neighbor is received. Auto: media is only taken if the call is a traversal call. If this neighbor is behind a NAT the VCS will forward the media to the IP address and port from which media from this zone is received (latching). Otherwise it will forward the media to the IP address and port signaled in the SDP (signaled). Default: Auto"

You must find the area id, then enter in the tsh - cli (admin ssh access):

    (replace with your number)

  • Questions about licenses ASA5505

    Hello

I searched in the ASA 5505 Hardware packages and I learned that there is the following text:

-The base license, offering only 3 VLAN (3rd one limited). It also offers licenses for only 2 10 IPSec VPN and SSL VPN AnyConnect Premium (which includes the old Cisco VPN Client and EasyConnect connection), representing the two up to 10 VPN.  There are 3 types of packages, whose numbers are:

    * ASA5505-BUN - K9--> which is the basic package, offering up to 10 concurrent users internal

    * ASA5505-50-BUN - K9--> with up to 50 simultaneous users internal

    * ASA5505-UL-BUN - K9--> offering unlimited number of users at the same time internal

-The license more than security, offering up to 20 VLAN and unlimited number of users simultaneous internal (regarding edition hardware Bundle). It also offers licenses for only 2 25 IPSec VPN and SSL VPN AnyConnect Premium (which includes the old Cisco VPN Client and EasyConnect connection), representing the two up to 25 VPNs. There is that one type of beam, whose part number is:

    * ASA5505-SEC-BUN - K9--> offering unlimited number of users at the same time internal.

If you have the base base ASA5505-BUN-K9 license and want to upgrade to the license more than security, you would activate 2 licenses:

+ the license more security--> ASA5505-SEC-PL = (or the L-ASA5505-SEC-PL = if you wish to receive by e-mail)

+ unlimited users license--> ASA5505-SW-10-UL (as if the license more security is not hardware-Bundle, it does not come with unlimited number of users)

and that is why it is better to buy the security more license material-Bundle from the outset that the upgrade later.

It comes as I could get, but I have a few questions that I would like you to help me solve:

QUESTION 1. -is the information just preceding or y at - it something wrong?

QUESTION 2. -I heard there is a license of VPN AnyConnect Essentials offering up to 25 AnyConnect Licenses at the same time essential, and I would like to know what is the difference between these licenses and permits VPN AnyConnect Premium?  I'll be able to connect with a license of AnyConnect Essentials via RDP?

QUESTION 3.-j' heard as it is another package called ASA5505-SSL10-K9 offering up to 10 SSL VPN AnyConnect Licenses, which has been deprecated all recently. A license more security with unlimited users included in this set of hardware?

QUESTION 4 - otherwise, there is another license called ASA-SSL-10, which could be installed with license more security. It works the same way the material above Bundle?

QUESTION 5. -in the case of reach the internal concurrent users allowed limit, how much time would it take to update the meter because a user is getting out of the internal network?

    Kind regards

    PEDRO

You're right about anyConnect 4. The main difference of old licenses is to count users that must installed AnyConnect. Not the users who use it at the same time.

But the minimum number of users is 25 users to my knowledge. But also for users of twenty-five and five-year subscription you pay usually less it AnyConnect Essentials and AnyConnect Mobile together.

The order codes for this combination would be (you need both):

    • L AC-PLS-5 YR-G
    • AC-PLS-5 YR-25-S

Look at the CPL examples in these discussions, and also the corresponding section in the administration guide for VCS - E also chronicled in a couple threads.

In addition to the CPL script, you should consider breaking up the dial string by using something like # in the prefix of GW, IE if your prefix is 1 you use # 1 instead.

You will not be able to block attempts to call as with the above, so they will always appear in the newspaper, but you minimized the possibility of the any of these tent appeal actually succeed.

A way to block them completely disable SIP completely on the VCS-E, but disable SIP UDP will also keep these attempts at a minimum, at least that's my experience.

    Hello

You can install and activate a license creative cloud on 2 computers, regardless of their operating system. But you must use one at a time, in other words you should not share your license with another user. A license is for a user that can be used in different places as the home and office.  However, creative team of cloud subscription, you can have multiple licenses under a subscription that you can assign to users. As far as my understanding of the legal points will: No. you would breach 2.1.7.1 and also on some level 4.7 and 4.8 break - Amazon is not your local network and since otehrs can access the server outside the number of permits users who could carry some influence in the judgememnt. Anyway, I'm not a legal expert by any means. However, technical obstacles remain: AE and SOUL do not necessarily play with the server because of CoDecs software, licenses and other things system level get involved Server security mechanisms can stop working...

  • A question about the license of Oracle 1 g R2 Enterprise Edition

    Hi all

I have a question about Oracle license and I would be grateful if you could help me thanks.

I installed an Oracle (11g R2 Enterprise edition) server on a virtual linux machine. The pc being used for this purpose
is my cell phone company (so a professional and not a personal computer). However, I use this Oracle Server
only for the purpose, i.e. learning only to run the examples in my Oracle Press books (SQL, PL/SQL and some)
administrative tasks) just to learn things.

There is absolutely no data related to my business, stored or used on this server. Whenever I want to work with my
data of the company, I use the Oracle server of the company that has the appropriate license of course. So, as I said, I
Use this server of the company on the virtual machine only to run applications/programs in my Oracle Press books just for
learning and I'm the only person who uses this server (no remote for other users).

The reason why I needed to install this server on my PC, is that our DBA could not provide a training environment
for me, with all the privileges and features.

Should I buy a license for this Enterprise Server installed on my virtual machine?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dariyoosh

  • Selection of the correct ISDN gateway

Hi all, I'm new to the vcs, so I'm sorry if the question could be mundane.

We have a Cluster consisting of 2 vcs - c placed in 2 regional sites differet and one ISDN gateway for each site.

When we try to set an ip address to isdn call it begins from the bridge of the side where there is the master of vcs, so the question is: How can make us the call out through the right site gw?

It's the solution that we thought:

the dial plan is 12xxx for one site and 13xxx to other sites, so a CPL could filter the source alias adding a prefix configured on each ISDN gw of all sites of routing of the call appropriately.

Are there other ways cleaner to do? Remember that we do not want to change the habit of users, so they should not add the additional prefix.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

If you create a cluster, see it as a VCS. You might hit limits if you try to use them to separate areas.

Dedicated (groups of) vcs in each are the cleanest way.

Not to mention that, Yes, have a cpl on the source, a local sub area or else that can

separate endpoints could route your specific sets of endpoints to ISDN specific gws.

  • About VCS Express hack attack

    Hello

I have a pirate constantly trying to hack our VCS and it (his robot) is not giving up.

It happens on our express VCS and or to order with the id 'cisco' and is calling through the communication manager various combinations of dialing numbers, I would just add a CPL entry to block anything arriving with "cisco".

Someone at - it an example of how to add a source like this in the cpl file and it ships to nirvana?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Randy

One I downloaded should be used on the VCS-E since these call attempts originate from the wild, that's where I also ISDN blocks in place to prevent external sites to access our ISDN gateways.

However, I do not use CPL for this, search only rules, see page 39 of the deployment guide http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/X8-5/Cisco-VCS-Basic-Configuration-Control-with-Expressway-Deployment-Guide-X8-5.pdf - having said that there is of course nothing wrong with using the CPL.  :)

One you use is neither here nor there, you'll have to edit anyway :) - just open it in Notepad and insert the additional rules and download on the VCS-E.

The VCS - C and VCS-E use the same format, so to create a new rule, you would do something like this:

You need not specify the reason, but sometimes it is good to send them a personalized message, although they probably won't be read or see. :)

You must include a rule of origin thus unauthenticated however.

It is basic XML, each rule starts with

  • Question about "Windows 8.1 DG to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit" and Windows product key

I have acquired a recnet ThinkPad T450 fdrom a retialer online (NCIX) and I hav ea a few questions about the installed Windows operating system.

Before I just go further, HRE are some information about my particular system.

    Lenovo ThinkPad T450

    Model: 20BV00BUS

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4300U

    RAM: 4 GB

Under the product description, it was stated "Windows 8.1 DG Windows 7 Pro 64." My understnading, the ThiknPad has been installed with Windows 8.1, but downgraded to Windows 7. There is also a Windows 8 Pro badge sticker at the bottom of the matchine.

Is it possible, at the end of the user/consumer, to alter the functioning ti repressive back Windows 8.1?

Can I create a recovery with Windows 8.1 disk?

A separate but related matter relates to the Windows product key.

I noticed the Ultrabook do not come with a sticker / label with the Windows product key (i.e. COST). Some quick research indicated that the Windows key is programmed into the BIOS.

This indeed true (I wish an audit)?

The key is visible in some way (for when you need to reinstall the operating system. I have not tried to enter the BIOS at the moment)?

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    Kind regards

    Victor L.

    Hi Victor,

I'm in the same boat as you type, but want to keep the facilities of Windows 7 rather than pass them to 8. Just like you, I buy our Lenovo from different retailers and they come with windows 7 installed through the Windows 8 lower upgrade program.

We had one or two laptops come with a recovery media (for windows 8/8.1 only) but have noticed that all laptops now come with no physical media or codes for the recovery. WIN8 stickers, you described is more came with the license key on the sticker (it comes to stop you using the same license again and again, microsoft will get more money if you buy another license etc.). I also saw that the key is essentially located in the BIOS but were not able to test what we use any of windows 8. I use it even at home!

To answer your question, you can get a recovery of Lenovo for Windows 8 media!

Go to the following link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovorecovery

(It help you understand why this method is used on this page as well)

    Select Start,

Please have your serial number of your laptop, (to find it go to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name)

If you qualify (which you will very probably) Lenovo will ship for free, recovery disks give it a go, took me 2 minutes.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Max.

  • question about the mixture of OSes

I have a question about installing a dual boot.

Someone recently bought a copy of Windows 7, but they had the wrong version. They got the 32-bit version instead of the 64-bit and for some reason the store refuses to return or Exchange it.
They offer it to me that they have to buy the 64-bit version.

I'm not sure if I need it, but I thought I could try on my laptop. I just realized that I type that they never told me what version of Windows 7 it is.

This laptop was given to me second hand. It came with Vista Home Premium. I installed XP on another partition, and was so pleased with the results that I've never bothered to fix the Vista partition to get the job to dual-boot.

If this proves to be Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate edition, am I having difficulties to the upgrade of the Vista partition? I guess I could install it from scratch, but I'm not sure if all the drivers are available.
Can I try the drivers Vista 7 the way you sometimes try 2000 drivers under XP?

As you can see, I have several issues of concern. 7 same detects the installation of Vista and make an update if I don't fix it so that the Vista bootloader is present? The XP installation program has replaced the Vista bootloader, and I've never bothered to fix it.

Finally, is there another recourse that the store for my friend Exchange 7 32-bit 64-bit 7 to save money?

Looks like somebody bought an OEM of Windows 7 version from a "commercial" version comes with a 64-bit and 32-bit installation DVD.  If someone has already installed and active that the OEM 32-bit version, then, unfortunately, this license cannot be used on another computer since the OEM licenses are permanently tied to the first computer it's installed and activated on.
