Quick Selection tool
Quick selection tool is wrong with the latest version of Photoshop on a mac pro desktop with os 10.10.5.
It's very very slow. I have a ton or ram. It was very fast. Also on the first selection, it selects only a small part of what I drove on. That takes some time and then it continues to be slow and not as many choices as before. This is perhaps because it is slowly catch up with my movements. I use the wacom tablet. I tried a mouse and it's still slow and not as accurate as Photoshop has been in the past.
Marc
Mohit,
Solved by leaving photoshop and reset settings now command option shift on launch of photoshop.

Stupid question CS6. How can I get rid of my experience after using the quick selection tool?
The best way would be to make sure that your layer is not a background layer: click the lock icon in this case. Then click the icon at the bottom of the layer panel layer mask. This will create a mask that you can refine and not be destructive.

Photoshop Elements 14 Quick Selection tool breaks
I often use the quick selection tool to clone or highlight areas of the image for the special edition. Invariably, after several weeks of use, it stops working. It does not have the AutoFill feature nor can I enclose an area for further editing. In the past, I just uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop Elements. Last week, not even this method worked. This was also a problem in Photoshop elements 11, in my experience. What is the cause of the problem and what is the solution?
A simple reset will often do the trick. Go to this link and select the Quick Selection tool:

quick selection tool doesn't work not as expected
I used photoshop for the last 3 weeks to cut out pictures and create a transparent background.
Method: Open the img in ps6. then use the Quick Selection tool to select the area of interest, then click on the tab 'Edit' then choose cut on the menu drop down.
Now the same method gives me a white background.
I have reset photoshop by reopening with clt alt shift and reset to default... same result
also reinstalled photoshop... of the efforts in vain.
Can someone help pls

I don't know what is happening here, but your steps really do that properly in all cases. Try this.
(1) make your selection, you see the moving dotted line
2) click on the layer mask icon in the indicated measure. Note the mask is shown on layer 0
(3) on the screen, it will look like this with a transparent background, but nothing has been deleted
(4) If you are not comfortable with being there layer mask, select the mask and right click then choose apply layer mask. I would say it's totally useless, but some people find it easier to understand.
(5) the layer will look like below. I know its tempting to cut and paste, but ultimately you lose things, but to do this way, you are in complete control and can go back if you make a mistake.

Magic Eraser and Quick Selection tool
I want to erase the white background of the following image so that it is transparent, where there was formerly a white background. Using the background Eraser is ineffective because it is difficult to erase the background without erasing parts of the image that I want to keep. I was able to use the quick selection tool to select the white background and then use the Magic Eraser tool to erase the white background, but I have two problems. (1) I can't get the Magic Eraser tool to erase the White Center, which shows to be selected. (2) I can't the selected background to deselect.

How to make default tool wand (instead of the Quick Selection tool)?
Hello
Whenever I open my photoshop software, the default value of 'W' is the quick selection tool. I'd rather be the magic wand tool. Sometimes she stays tool magic wand, other times, it comes down to the quick selection tool. How can I get the 'W' to stay the magic wand tool by default and not switch back to quick selection? I don't want to get rid of quick selection as I use it sometimes, but I used the magic wand.
Click on the three dots at the bottom of the toolbar, and choose edit toolbar.
Drag the Quick Selection above the magic wand tool and click done.

When I use the quick selection tool, selected part becomes black and fuzzy.
Hi all
When I use the quick selection tool, the selected part becomes black and fuzzy. It is unusable as an image (see below). Do you know what setting is related to or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!
Hi breeves,
Please go into Photoshop preferences > performance > advanced settings > change the drawing to Basic mode > restart Photoshop and then check
Additionally, make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated.
If this does not help, give additional details, including the version of Photoshop, you use? What operating system?

Quick selection tool does not work after last update Photoshop CC
I've updated to the latest version of Photoshop CC, and the Quick Selection tool does not work. I am able to make a choice, and then when I try to make multiple selections, I receive the ball well filled, and then nothing is selected.
I have preferences in the performance, the value Panel "Big & Flat" in the historical and 'Basic' Cache in the settings of the graphics processor. Thus, the operating system is up-to-date.
I restarted my computer, and now it works. Don't know what it is, but it works fine now.
Thank you!

Wand not included does not in the title of the Quick Selection tool
Hi all
I use the student Version of Photoshop, while I am a student. When I click on the Quick Selection tool to find the magic wand tool, it isn't here. Please can anyone advise where I might be able to find it, or tell me why I can't?
It is also a problem with Zoom chinless. Which does not appear as an option in Zoom either.
Thank you kindly.
When I click on the Quick Selection tool
Click and hold the mouse button - not just click.

Using the Quick Selection tool
I'm new to CS6... after the tutorial in welcome after that start the Narrator merges the two images... He selects a giraffe with a single click using the Quick Selection tool and adds it to another layer (Beach) is it possible even in CS6? I tried to reproduce what has been shown in the tutorial... and can not... can you help or explain?
Without having seen the tutorial, you have to guess what was going on. You would not be able to choose the giraffe with a simple click on the Quick Selection tool, but you may be able to select the background if it is a single solid color, such as white. Having done this, you can either remove the background, or invert the selection (Ctrl Shift I) leaving only the selected giraffe.
Recommended from here would be to copy the giraffe selected on its own layer (Ctrl-j). You could then drag the giraffe to the other image.
