• Office (16 identified as critical) updates refuse to update. Error code 0 x 700

  I am running Windows XP SP3.  All updates are underway.  Earlier this week, I received notification of updates Office 16 identified as essential.  I downloaded and tried to install.  All error updates off with error code 0 x 700.  I spent the week runs each offfered conceivable solution without success.  The common solution is to run Windows FixIt and I run to death.  He always says that a repair was made and try again.  Just Windows Update won't complete successfully.  The process of updating progress bar seems to indicate that the update process is at the end of the installation when the systems shows the updsate failed with this error code.  The first of 16 updates is update of security for Microsoft Outlook 2002 (KB2293422) but the problem is not unique to this update.  The other mistake 15 off the coast with the same error code.  Can anyone offer a solution to this before as I have physically take this box and throw it from the roof?  I lost a week on it and the frustration level is very high.

  I followed the solution proposed.  When I did the manual update, none mentioned earlier updates for Office XP or Office 2002 appeared.  In fact, Microsoft Update stated there is no Office update available for my system which requires the download and installation.

  Very well. Make sure you now updates for Office 2003, released on 12 March 2013 (if there is one) to install correctly.

  If I need to apply this patch, it would be nice to understand a little better what to expect and what is fixed and/or improvements.  You have to forgive me because I'm old school and I usually generally follow the routine "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  I'll do what it takes well so I have a better understanding of what is going to happen in the case where updating mess something inadvertently.

  I doubt you will notice a difference in performance if you have it installed.

  It is unlikely that all the problems would result in the update (however could apply Murphy's law), but like you said... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

  I checked the Source instance and don't have this OracleAS_Relink_Patch.sh anywhere. I'm working on the migration of UX to Linux. We do not have/d2/R12/ab/apps/R1211XB9... What is c?  And why the Forum doesnot source this script?

• VSphere Management Assistant freezes during execution of scripts Perl SDK

  In our environment, we have a nagios server which connects to our Executive Assistant to check the health of our host ESX 4.1 vSphere. Scripts are pretty basic and just run over SSH using cryptographic keys every 10 minutes. The problem is that after a day or so to work properly the VMA one freezes and unresponsive. I am at a loss here as to what is causing this problem that I made sure to always disconnect the server vSphere when scripts are finished. Anyone who has met by this kind of problem before?

How can I get around that... will I have any questions? Should I rip to all that and start over?

  -Unlock user apps/applsys accounts

  -Clean your R12 software

  -Fix the R12 software with password

  Im trying to create a script using two tables in my oracle server.

  Table2: calkva

  I want to join the two tables based on two fields:

  Condsize

  Condmatl

  (because the two tables have these fields) And based on these games of field, update the field conductorinfo of the table "calckva", because currently we have not these data in the conductorinfo table

  I get options of the user (user name, password, server) of the connection dialog, so how do I use connect() to connect the vCenter or ESX host?

  Choice of two:

  1 run a script perl, connect.pl say, not what I want.

  2. specify the options of the connect() function. This is what I want.

  Can someone me clear on this?

  If you look at the VICommon.pm module, you will see the::Connect() Util function analysis actually url, user name, and password.

  Looking at the code, it seems that you can just call Util::Connect ($url, $username, $password); assuming that you do not set the user name, password or url methods described in the Guide to Programming Perl VI (do not set environment variables or set the values of the Options in the script or the command line argv array).

  You can use the sessionfile option to store the session cookie, unless you are already doing your own management of cookies, in which case, you will need to look at some of the features which are not usually used in a standard VI Perl script.  There are some functions of "low level" in VICommon.pm, you can take advantage.  Essentially you'll be bypassing the main option handles the login process.
