Random keyboard shortcuts.

My computer crashed on my user profile, so I pressed CTRL ALT DEL to get to the Task Manager and cancel the program, in that I was. When I did the computer makes beeping, and from this point every time I press certain keys they will not type the letter but instead make an action. EG L = lock, SPACEBAR - office wear to front, r - run. It is only in my user profile and not the one I created for my sister.

How to restore the keyboard so that it type normally?

Hopefully someone else will come and help you to solve this problem.

Here is my point of view. (You can no more keep in mind).
If your sister's account is not affected, then it indicates that your account is corrupted.
I would like to create a new account, backup the data from the old account, and then delete the old account.
Here is a tutorial on how to copy files to the new user profile.

Please note hat that you need at least 3 accounts in order to follow the instructions given by the tutorial.

  • Why all my keyboard shortcuts use the 'Alt' key instead of the ' CTRL '? I use Windows 7 and Firefox 5.0.1.

I recently downloaded Firefox 5 and noticed that all my keyboard shortcuts by default using the 'Alt' key instead of the 'Ctrl' key (so, for example, open a new tab is Alt + T instead of Ctrl + T).

I noticed that this applies even to copy and paste in Firefox (Alt + C and Alt + P is the only commands that work).

No idea why this is happening? I am running Windows 7 and Firefox 5.0.1.

I had this problem. I found that a roaming profile directory has been installed which contained a user.js file in which changed the hotkey of CTRL ALT.
    I deleted the profile folder a name randomly in c:/Users / [myuser] / AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles and then I stuck to that of c:/Users / [myuser] / AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles.

This bad user.js file was some other parameters, including the definition of the user agent string
    "Mozilla/5.0 (X 11;" U; Linux i686; en-US; RV:1.0.0; (Salut, maman) gecko/20020604 "

The user.js file is (or similar to) those listed here: https://www-archive.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html

  • Keyboard shortcuts work too easily

I just got a new laptop with Windows 7... I noticed that when I type for a reason, keyboard shortcuts begin opening in every sense things when I didn't hit all the shortcuts I know.

Earlier, trying to this type (very slowly), I moved automatically to the url bar, open a new tab twice, open My Favorites menu and moved to the bar twice - the Bing search while all, that I did is typing this message.

Try typing a single line of information, I have 12 open/past different windows!

Is it possible for me to prevent this? Or something wrong with my computer? I've NEVER had a computer to randomly open often things as if I'm hitting several keyboard shortcuts (notice now that I somehow allowed italic when I didn't).

It drives me crazy. I can't type slowly without opening/switching windows not to mention typing at my normal speed.

    1. try to go to the keyboard properties in Control Panel and slow down the settings there.
    2. check that u don't have a stuck key somewhere - is easy to do - Xmas Pudding gets everywhere ;-)
3 do a scan of your system for malicious software ful. All the answers and suggestions are provided by an enthusiastic amateur and are therefore no explicit or implicit guarantee. Basically, you use my suggestions at your own risk.

  • Problems with keyboard shortcut

I've updated my Mac and everything was fine until I had to restart it. My Photoshop keyboard shortcut became just random like this:Screen Shot 2013-10-29 at 8.33.09 PM.png

I tried to restart my computer again, but there are no changes. The weirdest part is that when I tried to change the shortcuts, it will not work even if I clicked on accept and 'ok '. Is there a way I can turn it back? It wasn't like that when I got this back in November.

    https://discussions.Apple.com/message/23471905#23471905

    (1) while in Photoshop, go to "Keyboard shortcuts" under the menu 'Edit' in the Mac menu bar. The Panel "keyboard shortcuts and Menus" is displayed.

    (2) with the "Keyboard shortcuts" tab is selected (as opposed to "Menus"), double click on 'File' (has a triangle next to him) under the 'Application Menu Command' and select/highlight the "open...". "command.

    (3) without having to edit the shortcut sort, click on the button "Accept" right. And then 'OK' to close the Panel. This successfully re-introduced the hotkey "open".

    (4) at this point, you're probably thinking, ' my God, I have to repeat this process for each unique keyboard shortcut... ". ». But no, just 'accept' the "Open" command seems properly restore each other hotkey too!

  • Settings > general > keyboard > shortcuts toggle?

I am running iOS 10.0.2 on my Plus 7 iPhone and my iPad 12,9 Pro.

When I go into settings > general > keyboard IPAD Pro, there is a "Shortcuts" under the rocker switch to "Enable Caps Lock" and above the toggle to "Predictive". (Note that the rocker "Shortcuts" also appears on an iPad running iOS 10.0.2). 2 Air

On iPhone 7 more, however, there is no such rocking "shortcuts".

Because, on this same page settings, both devices have an "Alternate text" option that you can type on enter custom keyboard shortcuts, I have no idea what the rocker "Shortcuts" on iPad is for.

I did on 1 million various searches on Google and you have not found the answer.

    Could someone kindly enlighten me?

    Thank you.

The shortcuts are for tools to the left and to the right of the top of the keyboard that you see here. The iPhone screen is probably too small to make use of this feature.

  • Keyboard shortcuts for the screen saver does not

When upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, the hotkey to put the screen in sleep mode (control - shift - (power or Media Eject button )) has stopped working. As I use this command several times a day and don't know not of any other way to put the screen in sleep mode, it's one of the few reasons why I consider really return to El Capitan.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hi Zwolff,

Thanks for posting in the Community Support from Apple! I understand that you are having problems with the keyboard shortcut to put your display to sleep. It is certainly a handy to use feature and I'm happy to offer some suggestions to help.

The first thing that I recommend you try safe mode connects. This will clear the caches and conduct audits at your connection. Here you can find the steps for safe mode:

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

I also recommend you test this in a test on your Mac user account. There may be software or a specific file of the user that generated problems with your shortcut.

How to test a question in another account on your Mac.

Don't know what you're trying to do or ask here.

I use these commands to switch between TABS in the two Finder and in Safari (the same keyboard shortcut works in both areas).

  • Alternative text / keyboard shortcuts go after iOS 10

Everyone knows about the loss of their replacement text shortcuts after updating to iOS 10? I feel like it's the opposite problem, we had here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6656922?start=465 &

Everything else is transferred in my settings (for example, my keyboards are installed, my emoji frequently used are the same, my bluetooth connections are all there, etc.) except this.

I went from literally a thousand + text to replace default "omw" replacement (on my way!).

I tried to turn on and off road iCloud (although tech said the keyboard shortcuts are stored in the local backup not the cloud) and restart the phone, which is something that I found online. It does not work.

Same thing here. Did not have that much (maybe 20 or more), but now all that remains is the shortcut of Omw.

  • Keyboard shortcut for the Guides of the master in Keynote

Is there a way to define a keyboard shortcut to show / hide the master Guides in Keynote? Get to the subsection of a subsection of the menu command is a bit of a pain when you have to do a lot.

Or is it at least possible to include the command in the toolbar when you customize it? I can do that for the normal guides, but not for the master Guides...

Please Apple, facilitate the work of the creator, and I'll stop complaining about having to use Keynote for presentations at work

You can create a custom for this keyboard command:

    1 - Apple menu > System Preferences > keyboard > shortcuts > App shortcuts:

    2 - Click on the button "+"

3 - enter this information (choose your own combination of keys):

    4 - click on add

    5. close Keynote and open speech and the short cut will be added:

At halfway through the set, my MacBook Pro screen goes black, and it stops. Y at - it a keyboard shortcut, that I can use to start up the mac replace the boot process before its judgment? What is the cause of restart/stop down to arrive?

Hi melmanart, start safe mode and see if the problem persists:

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

    Restart now ' shift '.

(Wait to take more time to start in this way because it runs a check of directory first. Also give it some time after the start because he runs maintenance routines at the beginning.)

  • When I click on "View history" I completely lose the Firefox menu bar, I can't even quit the application without using a keyboard shortcut.

The question describes all this: when I select "view history", the menu bar disappears, so I have no way of navigation, there is no arrow to the left, nothing. I quit Firefox, but only using the Mac keyboard shortcut. I can go back to a previous window only by moving the historic window and I can close this previous window - there is a button for this - but there is NOTHING that will allow me to change, or close, the historical window. My only option is to leave the program.

Both of your corrections helped. The first reminded me that I could simply use command-W to close the library window, because it did not show a close"" button. But your second response on rename these two files really made the tour of Firefox back to his old self once more. Now, everything is back to normal. Thank you.
