• Windows Media PLayer 11, removes all libraries and playlists. Message about corrupted files.

  This happens about once a day when I stopped WMP, but this does not happen everytime I stop WMP.  WMP loses all elements of library and playlists.  I can add my music to the library, and WMP recognizes the music and my playlists.  But at some point, it will be lost again. I am using WIndows XP Pro SP3.  Any ideas how to solve this problem?

  What is the exact text of the message about corrupted files?

  This is usually caused by a corrupt media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for WMP 11 on XP at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

• Problem VLC media player - option of the context menu "add to vlc media player playlist" disappear in the selection of multiple files.

  OK, here's my problem. I installed VLC. It works very well. I have 'Add to playlist in vlc meadia player' on the pop-up menu file.

  I hope someone here can help me, I'm at my wit's end and can not find answers online either.
  I use LR5 (Win7) and have my photos and catalog on an external HD (E :). We are talking about 45 000 photos, taking about 1.2 TB. Please bear with me it's complicated and scary.

  When I turned on LR the other day, I had forgotten to plug in my HD external (e) first. When I did it after the fact, LR practically crashed. Even after a reboot, the structure of the catalog was there, but pictures were gone and LR was looking for a F: drive, even if the connected HD is E:. So I added the E: drive to the section of the new file and imported pictures. Since then, ever-present F:, grayed, in the section files and cannot be deleted. Everything went well at first glance, the pictures were there, but after awhile, I realized that all my changes, the sides and keywords disappeared! Only a few pictures, which had been published in a different and backup software in LR as .tiff or .jpg had retained information. After unsuccessfully trying different things, I decided that my catalog must be corrupted. I find the previous backup on my C; by car (unfortunately, this backup is missing about 15 hours of work, I know - I know...) and started LR with this catalog backup and everything worked well. So I copied that backup to HD (E :) and renames to my usual catalog name (I renamed and kept the original, "corrupt" too).) Low and behold, this copy of the catalogue backup suddenly didn't work more. He has done exactly as "corrupt." So I went back to the original location of the Catalog backup on the C: drive and attempted to restart LR in there once again, and it does NOT more more. And creepy it is, it shows the structure of the correct catalog, seems to have all the changes, ratings and keywords, but is looking for images on the F: drive that does not exist! Well, it does not actually exist, but it's my backup drive that is not connected. The E: drive does not appear in the records section at all, as when it happened first. An older backup that I will go back to doing the same thing now. BTW: at some point during the race together, I upgraded to 5.7 LR., in the hope that it could solve the problem in which case LR itself had been damaged. Made no difference.

  As you have discovered, re-importation of pictures will often lose metadata (changes, keywords, captions, collections, etc.), and so re-entry is the last resort when you cannot recover a working catalog.

  In your case, I think the problem is that some windows point renamed drive letters.  Rather than worry about how it happened, we will focus on obtaining a working catalog.  You said that your backup of the catalog references the F: drive, rather than the E: drive.  It is easy to fix, according to the methods described in the link DJ_Paige posted above.

  1. once more, make a copy of the backup catalog and open LR on this copy.

  2. in the LR Folders pane, find the F: drive. The folders listed under the F: drive should have a "?" on them, indicating that they are "missing" (in other words, they run sites that think LR does not exist in reality).

  3 right click on one of the top-level folders, and select view the Parent folder:

  

  Repeat until the folder in the foreground is F:.

  4. right click on the folder in the foreground F: (which will have a "?" on it) and select find missing folder:

  

  A file browser will open - select E: and click Select folder.

  5. at this point, the folders pane should show the E: drive, no "?" on folders, and you should be able to navigate to all of its files and display photos in folders. The folders pane may still present the F: drive, with '? ' on his records - if so, restart LR and it will disappear.

  I'm not 100% sure but I think it has something to do with Internet explorer. It is possible that some dangerous pages is listed as start page and every time happen this pop-up window.

  If you remove options Internet explorer, which will probably help not at all because there are probably some entries in the registry. I recommend you to analyze the HARD disk and the malware research. Also check if you can find any application for scanning of rootkits.

  Delete also all temporary Internet files. You are using another browser, like Firefox?

• Missing iTunes library and playlists... Please help

  Hello, this morning to my horror, I started iTunes and all my 20,000 songs and playlists, I spent years developing are absent.  Would it be a problem with my hard drive or a disk that allows iTunes search startup files?  I checked the path to the file and it seems that the music is always in their folders however re import all would not get the playlists back and on top of that the last backup I have was from 2014.    Can anyone help

  It is possible that your iTunes library file has become corrupted, so iTunes has started up with a new iTunes library.  Or you may have accidentally set iTunes to open a new iTunes library.  If you use the default configuration, the iTunes library file is located in your iTunes folder and called iTunes Library.itl, to this place

  [startup drive] /Users/ [your name of user account] / music/iTunes/iTunes Library.itl

  NOTE: The iTunes library file is a database that defines your iTunes library.  It contains no files media real iTunes, which are organized and stored separately.

  Go to this location using a Finder window; What do you see?  If you see a file called iTunes Library.itl here, quit iTunes (if you run) and use this method to open iTunes using this library file.

  Open a different iTunes library file or create a new - Apple Support

  If it does not open or if you still get a library empty in iTunes, you use Time Machine to back up your boot drive?  If you do, you can restore your library iTunes from a State of backup file (date/time) when it does not have this problem.  In your case, it would be immediately before the last time you used iTunes with a working library.  Time Machine does incremental backups every hour, so this should be very close to when the problem occurred, if your iTunes library should be updated more often.

  If you do not have a backup (why not?) of your user data, look in the folder iTunes for a folder called Previous iTunes Libraries.  iTunes, these backups when there is a major update to iTunes, in the case where something bad happens or the user must go back to a previous version of iTunes for some reason any.  If the last backup of 'previous' iTunes library is not too old, you can use this library file to open iTunes, using this procedure
