Re: Satellite L850/OC9 - RAM upgrade advice

Hi all

I have a toshiba l850/OC9.
There currently:

DIMM # 1
SMBus address 0 x 52
Type of DDR3 memory
Format of SO-DIMM
Manufacturer (ID) Samsung (CE00000000000000)
Size 4096 MB
Bandwidth Max PC3-12800 (800 MHz)
M471B5273DH0-CK0 part number
Serial number 9294A4D1
Date week 46/year 11 manufacturing
Number of banks 8
Nominal voltage 1.50 Volts
EPP no
XMP no
AMP no

The manual of the laptop says it can handle up to 16 Go DDR3-1333/1600.

I think replace 4 GB altogether and going to two of them:
What we think?

Thank you
DH.

Hello

Kingston generally offer the RAM modules of good quality and in my opinion its right choice to remove the RAM Kingston.

The laptop was equipped with an Intel® Core i7-3610QM CPU
This processor supports DDR3 1333 Mhz and 1600 Mhz modules.

    Hello

Last week I discovered that I could improve my ram DDR3 capability of my laptop to a maximum of 8 GB 1866 mhz (according to crucial also site and corsair with scanning system) so I bought a new set of 2 x 4 GB 1866 MHz (Corsair Vengeance 1.5V to cas10). According to CPU - z, the system recognizes the 8 GB with no problems and yet the frequencies are not what I expected. It works in a 1330 mhz, case 8/9 and 1.5V, so I try to understand what I did wrong, or is there something to do?

But I kinda feel I'm screwed here, and I can't forget the 1866 mhz so everyone has an idea? I'm open to solutions :)

I think that this pages of RAM manufacturers are not so accurate. As far as I know it depends on speed FSB mainboard so if Toshiba says that you must use the DDR3 1333 MHz this info is relevant to you.

According to the specifications of the laptop you can use modules of 2 x 4 GB of RAM and 4 GB of RAM compatible has PA3918U-1M4G part number. Check it out.

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)

    Hello

If you want to increase the RAM to 1 GB then you need another 512 MB module.
As I know the laptop support modules DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM and generally the 512 MB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 RAM (PA3511U1M51) must be compatible.

Please check this space of the forum:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/Forums/Forum.jspa?forumid=114

Here you can find videos how to replace the RAM.
I didn t find your Satellite A120, but the upgrade of RAM is very similar to all laptops.

    Hello

Say the user manual on the upgrade of RAM?
In general this info is always mentioned in the user manuals

But generally, must be knowing that RAM upgrade depends on the chipset.
The FSB (front side bus) chipset is important for the speed of the RAM.
If the FSB supports only 533 Mhz then your RAM modules would go max with speed 533 Mhz and RAM modules support a faster speed; That is to say to 667 Mhz.

  • Satellite P300D - 21K: Windows 7 64 bit upgrade level & RAM Upgrade advice

Hi, I need some advice on upgrading my laptop. My laptop is a:

    Toshiba Satellite P300D - 21K
    Model No.: PSPD0E - 00H003EN

I think of upgrading to windows 64-bit (lucky students can do that for A £30!) to help speed up my laptop. I use some CAD applications, so 64-bit should help with the speed of these applications. Question:

    (1) are there reasons that someone could advise me not upgrading to 64-bit with my laptop?
    (2) I need to update my RAM at least 4 GB for 64-bit. I currently have 3 gig, so I guess I need to replace my stick of 1 GB with a 2 gig stick? Or did I put a 4 GB stick with my existing 2 gig stick?
    (3) going to upgrade my ram and operating system void my warranty?

1 in my opinion there is no reason why you should not install version 64-bit OS. Just be sure that all 64-bit drivers are available on the Toshiba support page.
I imagine at the moment for Win7 drivers are still not available and you have to wait.

    2. According to the specifications of the laptop Satellite P300D - 21 K can handle with 4 GB 2x2gb RAM max is the maximum that you can do about it.
2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.

    3 No.

Specification of Satellite C870-1JV page shows that you can upgrade the memory up to 8 GB of RAM.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

The 4360 Pro Satellite came with 64 MB internal memory and this memory in not removable.
As you have already said, there is only a slot that is expandable.

In any case... it seems that it of not possible to upgrade memory up to 512 MB.
You can upgrade the memory to 320 MB (64 MB internal memory + 256 MB external memory). There is a limit.

I found a very useful page that confirms this info:

  • Satellite A110-174 - RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A110-174

I want to buy a RAM module (it uses ddr2 ram, 533 MHz), but it seems impossible, in view of their.
I can only find the frequencies of 800 or higher.

I can use them or they give me problems / incompatibilities?

Can I mount 1 module or to buy 2 modules?

The motherboard will read up to 4 GB or need a Bios Update?

    Thank you

Satellite A110-174 can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.

In order to use a feature of dual channel RAM, two modules must be used.
This means module of RAM 2 GB in each slot.

The 4 GB RAM limit is caused by Mobile Intel 945 GM Express chipset
http://Ark.Intel.com/de/products/27857 as well as the Intel Core CPU T1350 http://ark.intel.com/de/products/27243
The processor supports the 533 Mhz FSB (front side bus) and the RAM modules will run max at 533 Mhz.

Thus, you should use the DDR2-533 modules

But sometimes, you should be able to use the DDR2 - 667 Mhz modules. In this case the 667 Mhz speed module will be clocked at 533 Mhz

  • Satellite A300-1QP - RAM upgrade question

    Hello world

After a few years, I decided to spend the money to upgrade the RAM.
Now, I'm pretty stuck to understand what to do.

I always knew that my laptop can be upgraded to 8 GB.
I also have many references for this information:

    -model: Satellite A300-1 q PSAGCE-07000QIT
    (http://www.toshiba.it/discontinued-products/satellite-a300-1qp/)

I checked physically slots: there are currently two slots of 2 GB each.
As long as no expert, I thought that the the more logical way to upgrade such a configuration is to buy the other two chips of 4 GB each to reach the 8GB.

However, it appears this combination didn't is not possible because I don't find not (I checked the site of Kingston and the Amazon). The upgrade of RAM I want to achieve is:
    -DDR2
    -800 Mhz
    -8 GB

If this can be useful, I note all the data on the other two RAM modules:
    2GB 2Rx8 PC2-64005-666-12-Z3
    800 Mhz DDR2-SDRAM

Can someone help me understand what to do to upgrade the RAM 8 GB?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

The laptop was equipped with the Intel GM45 Express chipset and the Intel ARK page this Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express is capable of dealing with the 8 GB of RAM
The chipset seems to support 667 MHz / 800 MHz/1066 modules MHz

If you want to increase the RAM up to 8 GB of RAM, the best option would be the use of 2 x SO-DIMM 4 GB (DDR2 800 Mhz) modules
The present modules must be removed and replaced with two modules of 4 GB.

Usually, you can use modules of different brand but modules good markets can cause a lot of problem different and strange. So I recommend you to buy good quality like Kingston, Toshiba, modules etc.

    1. how many ram slots have?
2-can we add 2 GB of ram DDR2 533 hz more, if so, will total 3GB? Or shoud I replace 2 GB 1 GB?
3 - ? It s possible to use DDR3 Rams or different frequency as 800 Hz?
4 - What brand should I use to upgrade? Kingston etc?
5 - ? f I upgrade the memory of my laptop, can I install windows7 32 bit (I have windows vista at the moment)

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I'll try to give you some answers:

    # According to specification of laptop there two RAM slots
    # Your laptop can handle with 4 GB max, then you can do whatever you want and it depends on how much RAM you want to have inside. You can buy a module of RAM of 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM. That should be enough to work with Vista or Win7 even. Of course, you can upgrade to maximum and buy 2 X 2 GB.
    # It has no meaning at all. If the speed of the FSB of your motherboard is 53 MHz why use 800 MHZ modules. Your laptop will not be faster because of Rams with more MHz.
    # Yes, Kingston product high quality and using Kingston modules, you should not have compatibility problems.
    # I put t see any reason why you shouldn't be able to install Win7, but before this visit Toshiba support page and check if your phone model is supported for Win7.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 RAM upgrade problems

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.

I'm something wrong or missing something?

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)
