  I've been using lightroom 5 with great success to maintain, develop and print pictures for quite awhile. I shoot with a Canon 5 D marklll and shoot raw files. All of a sudden, I get a dialog that indicates that the file could not be read! Ironically, Photos from Apple allows the import but I can't export to lightroom. Different CF cards have been tried, and all receive a denial of the files. Photoshop CS4 allows Photos Apple files to develop all these other apps so no problem. Why has the lightroom 5 locked me all of a sudden?

  I recently reinstalled my laptop (64-bit) Windows 7 Pro. It has all the necessary Windows updates.

  I installed Photoshop CS6 (64 and 32-bit) and I've installed all the updates it needs.

  It will not open any JPG or RAW, .tif, .jpg, .dng and .cr2 files. Before you reinstall Windows Photoshop worked well.

  When I try to open an image file that Photoshop does not open, so the file type is associated with Photoshop, but that's all. The software is running, but it won't open the jpg or tif, and it does not open Camera Raw to display the RAW file.

  If I double-click on a new image, then a new instance of Photoshop is open, in addition to the already open instance, but still no picture.

  If I click file-open and navigate to the file it will then open in Photoshop and Camera Raw 9.1.1 and the picture shows successfully.

  I "solved" this problem!

  It seems that Photoshop won't open these files from a Windows 7 'Library' that points to a redirected folder.

  However, if I create a mapped drive with a drive letter local, the actual path of the files, (for example \\Server\FolderRedirections\Michael\Pictures), then it works OK.

  It is a good work-round and it makes no difference to me if I use a mapped drive or library I put just one correct, in the section 'Favorites' from Windows Explorer.

  It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install7-Zi , which can be used to open it so that you can run the Setup program.  Then just right click the folder zipped, select 7 - Zip and extract the files.  When you're done, open the newly extracted folder and you can find the utility to add "Take Ownership" to the right click menu.  Double-click it to install it and then close the window.  You should now be able to right click on the files you need to access and select Take Ownership - after taking possession see if you can remove the file now.

• Illustrator will not save the files to CMYK, RGB only

  For some reason any I can save is no longer the .pdf for Illustrator and Indesign in color modes CMYK files. In other words, the file will save, but it always ends up as a RGB file. I have reset my Illustrator preferences on startup and I deleted the file have prefs as well. I also did the same for the bridge, InDesign and Photoshop.

  Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do so I can create CMYK PDF files again? It drives me crazy and I need to send art (created in InDesign) to the printer in the CMYK color space.

  I'm working on a Mac. My operating system is OS x 10.6.8 version. Thank you!

  Hello.  I am a new another convert to LR to Aperture.  I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and commit to LR CC.  I've been playing with the importation of very small libraries opening to see how LR handles files.  I take a project and export it as an Aperture library, and then import this library using the options of the plugin function integrated.  Things seem to be going very well, except, these files where I made changes to come as integrated through in changes.  Fine.  But the problem is, when I go to the file in the Finder (I'm on a Mac), these are the unedited original files.  So what I see in LR is the modified file I see in Aperture.  When I go to the finder and watch the folder LR apparently seeks to, this is the original unmodified file.  How can I make LR see what is really there?

  I'm unable to reproduce this behavior. Are - this you opening Import plugin updated? Can you post a screenshot of your import of the opening dialog box and the dialog box options as well. Here is the definition of mines and I see the same file in Lightroom and the Finder, after that I imported.
