  I have a few questions about the deployment of a .NET Web Application that uses the Acrobat SDK kit (only for the merging of PDF).  Currently I have a license for Adobe Acrobat (which gave me access to the SDK to develop fusion).  For other developers to work on a project, they will also each need their own license of Acrobat to develop with me, OK?

  I finished this project (once again, a .NET Web application) and it will be hosted on a web server as part of a larger site.  The application generates PDF reports and will merge together in 1 PDF documents.  The process will run on the web server when a user clicks a button to generate the reports.

  My question is, on the web server, what kind of license is needed?  Is there a redistributable that can be installed on the web server to the COM of AcroExch.PDDoc object (and everything else), or do we just buy another copy of Adobe Acrobat and install it on the server?

  That's right, for redistribution and deployment of servers, you need the Adobe PDFLibrary.

  The Acrobat SDK kit does nothing by itself.  It is a set of APIs to work with Adobe Acrobat and Reader.  Since Acrobat and Reader are NOT AUTHORIZED (or technically appropriate) for use on a server, the answer is NO.

  Uninstall your creative cloud application that basically allows you to download apps and redownload it. This should do the job. Your system just lost you license update.

  I would like to develop an application for reading and setting the value within the AcroForm and a setting AcroForm shaped. For this purpose, I would use some of the existing API methods. I have a few questions:

  1) what are the differences of the SDK Acrobat and PDF Library SDK kit? (see the Documentation of the SDK Acrobat DC)

  Among others: kit SDK Acrobat and PDF Library SDK use the same PDF Library API? Just a different subset of it? What licensing and the pricing?   The PDFLibrary SDK is a subset of the Acrobat SDK kit that can be used without the need for Acrobat.  One of the things that is not present in the SDK of PDFLibrary is the API of Acrobat forms you mention.

  OK, Acrobat is not suitable. It is not technically suitable for the server; also no license. It doesn't have a command line, only OLE user interface.

  There are Acrobat PDF library, allowing development in C/C++. But I think that there is no function to compare. You will need to implement one yourself, which is a probably a lot of work. What kind of comparison do you want? If you just want to know if the files have changed at all you can use all the checksums without any API. Or are you looking for any Visual change? Or text change...?

  The code stops at AcroExchApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App") with the error: "cannot create ActiveX component."

  Seems you have confused between the names of the application.

  We have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC that is a free application to view PDF Acrobat Reader DC Learn & Support files

  Then we have

  (1) acrobat Pro DC (i.e. perpetual requires a serial key to activate) Download Adobe Acrobat products. Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X to edit PDF files.

  (2) acrobat Pro DC (subscription IE is enabled using Adobe ID) Acrobat DC subscription | Download and install to edit PDF files.

  Now, choose the right product to install & use.
