Rearrange apps in Launchpad

It is more a question that cosmetic something of great significance/importance, but is there a way to reorganize the way apps are arranged in Launchpad?  I'm a little OCD when it comes to the Organization, and I'd rather have just alphabetical if possible.  The lines of the first three on the first page are all applications that are delivered to the standards under OS X - they are not alphabetical.  The two lines are apps I've downloaded myself - they are not alphabetical.  The most curious but it's on the second page, all applications yet, I downloaded myself, these alphabetical.  Can't understand a person, myself.

So is that what I'm hiking on possible or do I just deal as if it were?  Like I said, it's purely a cosmetic thing, I just thought it was worth throwing to get reactions.

    Hi there, Curtis158!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. After reading your post, I see you try to add an application to Launchpad, but have some difficulties to do. I know how convenient to access dashboard applications can be and I'm happy to help you!

Take a look at the following article, which deals with the use of Launchpad under macOS Sierra.

macOS Sierra: Launchpad allows you to view and open applications

Applications downloaded from the App Store to appear automatically in the Launchpad, and "Add and remove apps" section describes in detail how to get applications downloaded from other sources than the App Store in Launchpad, as follows:

    Add and remove apps

    • Add an app to Launchpad: If you want Launchpad to include an application that you don't not download on the App Store, move the application to the folder Applications in the Finder. the application is automatically displayed in the Launchpad. For more information, see your files in the Finder.

If you have downloaded an app on the App Store or moved in your Applications folder and still not see it, check another page of dashboard by dragging left or right on your Magic Mouse or trackpad, roll to the left or right with a scroll on a mouse USB Apple ball or using the command + arrow left or command + right arrow. According to apps how much you have, you can have several pages in Launchpad.

  • How can I remove Wifi.app from Launchpad?

According to the online instructions for troubleshooting wifi (which didn't work), I dragged Wifi.app system > library > Services essential to the Launchpad.

Now, I have a generic icon for Wifi.app ap in Launchpad that I can't remove.

When I click on it and hold the mouse, there is no "X" in the upper corner.

How can I remove this icon Wifi.app from Launchpad?

First of all, go to/System/Library/CoreServices , and ensure that the app is still there. If so, just go to the Applications folder and delete "Wifi.app", so it will be removed from the Launchpad.

I was helping a friend with an application problem, and after that we had understood, he wanted to know if you can change the order applications without having to delete and readd all of them.  We discovered that some printers allow you to change the order in the ePrint Center account.  If the printer does not have the function, you will see a message under my Apps that you can drag and drop apps into the order you want.  The image below will direct you to the area and show you what look like the exact message.

  • removal of app Launchpad?

Is it possible to get rid of apps in launchpad? There are two that I don't know how they got there that I don't want. I tried to move it to the trash, but it does not work.  El Capitan, 10.11.4 9.1 Safari OSX

Click on each app on and hold Option down the circle with an X, and then click Remove for each application.

  • Having all the icons app pinned to the docking station

It affect the performance or memory available to other programs if you pin all the application icons in your dock (just for the look)?

I'm not sure about the memory, but keeping all applications in the dock reduces the execution stack, so it is wise to keep apps in launchpad (you can keep finder and trash in the dock) and also to reduce the size of the icons.

    Thank you!

  • How do you get pre installed apps

I recently bought a Macbook Air through QVC and when I ordered it, it says that the laptop would come with things such as: resume maker, photoshop, etc. I can't seem to find these additional applications/software anywhere on my laptop and I paid close to $500 extra for them

Normally, you should be able to find all the apps in Launchpad (the rocket icon in the Dock) and also in the Applications folder (go to the Finder menu named 'Go' and in this menu, click on Applications). Another way to easily find things is Spotlight search (magnifying glass icon to the right of the menu bar or combination of control keys space bar).

  • Screw spaces assignments app 'desktop '.

So, I love the 'spaces' in OSX, being in particular functionality to assign different applications to different workstations. I configured it in El Capitan on update of last week, with shortcut key to switch to each of the 5 '' bureaus '' Fortunately, I've created. I then assigned different applications for the different jobs by opening the app, open spaces, by dragging the application to the correct desktop and right click on the application in the dock and its assignment to this computer"desktop" on the tab "options".

    However...

Whenever I re - start, El Capitan decides to change which Office I assigned an app for. I have Mail assigned to the office 2. But he was variously assigned to one of the 2, 3, 4 or 5 depending on what she decided when I rebooted the computer, which means that I must seek in every office (via a shortcut at least) in order to find the right one. This seems to be a bug that is important for me is to play with my workflow

Does anyone know how to fix this? Should I simply delete the preferences 'spaces' in my library and see if it will fix itself?

Seems weird that it would reset every restart if...

  • How can I add an application to the dashboard

Don't know if this post belongs in this thread, but I didn't know where else to say... I recently had to install Photoshop CS6 to use a plugin required, which was not available in CC2015. When I did, PS2015 disappeared launching-CS6 area was in its place. I have CS2015 drugs to the dock, where I can access, but is not quite as convenient... It is not a huge thing, but I when I am busy often opened CS6 by mistake. I need two versions... is possible that I can add Photoshop CC 2015 in Launchpad? Thank you.

  • Rearrangement of the app becomes broken after long pressing some applications

I have a 6 s with the newest iOS (9.3.2) iPhone. When I long press certain applications (those that do appear a menu "contextual"), if I long press another app after that, I can't get the apps to "wiggle" mode to reorganize them. The phone vibrates briefly and then nothing, is more how long I press the application icon. There don't seem to be a way to solve this problem once the phone is in this State outside its restart. Put the phone in mode 'sleep', close all background applications, etc. does not solve the problem. Is there a way to fix this without having to reset the phone or is anyway to disable those menus "pop up"?

Your iPhone 6 contains a tactile 3D feature - newly introduced with the 6s iPhone and iPhone 6s +.  It is described here:

    http://help.Apple.com/iPhone/9/#/iphcc8f419db

This explains why you see a menu "contextual".

To rearrange icons, tap and hold an icon with less pressure that you use to display the "pop-up".
