  I use HR 11, and some of our programmers have decided they want produce me CHMS for their programs rather than WebHelp.  When I generate MS HTML Help, I get the table of contents and Index in help very well, but none of the content appear.  This is true for any MS HTML Help I generate, so I know it's a mistake or setting I'm missing.

  Chances are that you have configured either for output to be a network location, or if you copy the CHM file to a network drive before you test.

  The key here is that CHM files did not work on the network for a long time readers.

• Receptive HTML - change desktop > stop point Tablet

  I'm changing the width in pixels who change from view of the Office for the Tablet and so when the sidebar changes to icons.

  It seems that Javascript is used to remove class open-sidebar to various divs when the screen is reduced below 1300px. I need to change this value to 1200px.

  I could add CSS adapted to do this, but it would be much easier to update the JS. I've narrowed this down to one of the scripts responsible for this to the script \Responsive_HTML5\template\scripts\rh.min.js but I did not understand how it adds / removes desktop/tablet computer goes 'sidebar-open'.

  Someone at - it strategies or options?

• Why isn't bold fonts?

  I use Illustrator to create a couple of graphic novels and have created a custom truetype font based on my own writing. I did it by sweeping that on a printed form and sending an online service called YourFonts... I was happy with the result, paid for the download and have been using it later. However, I also need bold and italics variants of this. Rather than go through the process twice again (at a cost of $15 the time) I decided to use a free font editor called FontForge to create these variants (which turned out to be deceptively simple). The image below shows the original font and variants:

  

  I used FontForge on behalf of the LauraEss font family, the subtypes of Regular, Bold and Italic, and the names of files and equivalent policies. However there seems to be a problem with this in Illustrator, who do not have other applications in Windows 7. For some reason any fat does not seem to be different from the original. Here is what looks like an example of text (and draws as) in Illustrator:

  I noticed that the police is much more flexible in Illustrator CS5, and I do not think that Word performs a fake bold or italic. http://FontForge.sourceforge.NET/Overview.html#TOC

  Laura sent me three fonts and using the ttx to empty its files in a readable/editable format I was able to adapt to them - there were a few errors, probably due to the fact that FontForge has not treated the three fonts as belonging to the same "family":

  "1. the usWeightClass was 'medium' for all three, while it should be""Bold" for the police "BOLD". "

  2. the italicAngle in the table 'post' for italics is 0, whereas it should have some value of negaitive (I put it-"12", which seems a common value)

  3. a real head-scratcher, as at that time there italics and "BOLD" keys worked, but the order of the menu police was still not correct (italic first, then regular). I finally found that for a font italicized, you must also set the caretSlopeRun and the caretSlopeRise of some magic values other than the default value "1.0" (indicating a cursor "upward"). Change to semi-magie (*) "1 000 176" finally resolved values.

  (*) Semi-magic because these values apparently doing something, but I'll be darn if I know how to interpret...

  Reading his original post, I belately realize I don't have Word to test with. But his policies are "Comparefamily" of Adobe and tests validator Microsoft font families, so I guess this should then be allright.

  ... It was a useful exercise for me as well because thinking that italics problem told me something I didn't know that could be a problem in a font!

  Hi all

  I want to know how to stop a blank window when the user clicks on the link to download a zip file of opening in the viewers browser.  The zip downloads fine, but a blank window in the browser opens, even with no selected target link.

  I don't think you need: target = "_self". Try to remove that.

• Responsive HTML5 with mergedprojects, creates a hyperlink to a file in the project html parent to a child html file and it does not work! The child has with the parent TOC, but need to tie. Help, please!

  Hi group!

  I have a brilliant parent project that serves as a springboard for other projects. Users click a component of software they want and are redirected to a page with a list of all the documentation available for this component. Click on the name of a document and access - a lot of PDF files. BUT I also wish they were able to tie the online help for the component. After having read up on the link through / between projects, I knew that I needed to create a parent project (for the page intro and links brilliant) and projects for children (for software components).

  THEN

  I created a parent sensitive HTML5 project and the projects of two children. I compiled the parent to create mergedprojects files, and then open the projects children and collected to the appropriate mergedprojects folder. I then created a hyperlink to the file list html documentation in the project parent towards the child file software component html (output folder and start page [which is the same as the default theme]) and the link does not work! The child and its table of contents appears in the parent TOC so topics are here, but I can't link to them. If necessary, I can send screenshots.

  Where I am dorking this place?

  A typical reactive merged help is structured as follows:

  index.htm (Master home page)

  mergedProjects

  index.htm (starting page for child)

  A child from the index.htm page link would look like this:... /... index.htm

  Hi all:

  Hoping someone can help me here.

  I've been creating merged help for a while now without problems. But you have this problem today after compiling a particular project after a 15-month hiatus. When I compiled the project parent/master, the table of contents shown projects of the child and the InfoBar displays the following message is displayed:

  "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options... »

  I ignored the message and clicked on the child projects to verify if they appear correctly. Each project of the child opened the new instance of Internet Explorer - this has not happened before. The last time that I respected this parent, everything worked well project work and child projects that are open in the same instance of the browser.

  Secondly, when I right click on the message bar and has chosen to allow the blocked information content, the ToC has disappeared.

  Just in case where it is relevant, my predecessor employer all our PC last month and all software should be reinstalled.

  Would it be because of the new version of IE? (My old machine could have an older version.) Or the fact that I did not install the updates in Robohelp X 5? (I get the message that the Macromedia server is down). I have not activated the product, but either.

  Usually, you can prevent this message from appearing by activating Mark of The Web (MOTW) in the generation of WebHelp options. The unfortunate part, which is that you said X 5 and X 5 do not offer this option. So the next best thing you can do is to configure IE so it does not present the yellow information bar. To do this, open the Internet Options in IE. Click the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section. Place a check in the option 'allow active content to run in files on my computer ".

  

  Note that this affects only your own computer. If you expect your users to copy the WebHelp files on their local disks of C, you'll have to teach them to perform the same steps. But if you send your content to a Web server, you should not experience this problem.

• Image, Open/Close for "TOC book properties" (to CHM HTML Help)

  Hi all

  (1) where is the control to set the image of the book (e.g. book purple, yellow folder) for all books. I did this once before have forgotten since.

  The parameter - ' TOC book properties > advanced > Image'-does it for all the selected book.

  (2) is there a way that I can put to a Book TOC node to make it Open by default (showing its sub-nodes/books) on the execution of the CHM HTML Help?

  You can manage this by using a bunch of custom icon. File no tricks end of Rick Stone shows you how. For your second question, I believe that the only way to achieve this would be to have the default topic of the CHM file inside the book to open. You may also be able to achieve it by some form of Javascript that I can't help you with that. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone else will report it.

• Receptive Layout - theme 1 Standard. TOC font size can be changed?

  TOC font size is changeable in theme 1 standard-reactive framework. ? I can change the actual font but can't see an option to change the size of the font, which seems very strange to me. ?

  You can set the font size through to edit the CSS directly. Open the main.css in Notepad or your editor of choice. Search for selectors:

  by adding do-size: 12pt; between the parentheses, you control the font size.

  Let's start first of all, Im a graphic designer by trade, if some of my questions could be really simple and my working method can be terrible...

  That being said, here is my question. IM in the middle of the reorganization of the company I work for the emails and decided that since im doing, I want to make it sensitive to the size of the screen etc.

  However, I create in Indesgn, slice the PDF in Photoshop, then add the link and text elements in dreamweaver... This worked perfectly for me in the past, but now when I try to add any code or CSS I find what should I in aid of the theory me with my problems I cant just seem to get my drawings of trees to screen...

  Can you help me?

  I'm sorry to say, and in the interest of you saving time and headache, I won't have to embellish it...

  Pretty much everything you do is "the worst possible way to do" when it comes to html email.

  I think that the best plan of attack for you would be to find and use a model available with services such as www.constantcontact.com or www.icontact.com, so you can just drop text and images of documents pre-built "will work in a large number of email clients.

  If you do not want to learn how to code html emails, he must come to terms with the fact that they are stuck in about 1990 with regard to 'best practices' to go and a lot of what you can do with the sites Web just work well for them.

  You need to get started in Dreamweaver with a provision of the base table, then add your images from photoshop (the HTML created by PS is notoriously rigid and difficult to add/change anything in). The problem is not all email clients are similar and very few of them make it as a browser. There are some that will show all the images, there are some who will remove the css or all thesection of an html document and others that reproduces faithfully a modern browser.

  I can't open the .toc file I HAV downloaded. Ive tried chip register but my computer says that the component that you are trying use 2 is on an unavailable network resource, then said: a smart registry product installation package cannot b found and told me to try the package installation again using a valid copy of the installation package "Setup.msi", then I get a fatal error during installation screen , which is weird bcaz smart registry came with my computer, why would not valid?  And my anti-Viru spyware is protected.  My computer is brand new, so I know that nothing is outdated.  Need help please, I paid ten bucks 4 the .toc file.  The .toc file is a mod for a game online, I bought.

  -One of the files in the zip should have the extension .toc file (e.g., there should be a file with a name similar to NameOfTheMod.toc). Simply create a new folder under your Interface/AddOns/directory with the same name (NameOfTheMod), put all the files zipped into this new folder.

  If it's not Wow then what game you try to mod? Will basically be the same procedure. Just find which directory that the file is assumed to be the place for the match to see. You will not be able to 'Open' the normal with windows tools .toc file. If you are really eager to see what is in it that you need to do for the game modding community searches to find the tools to extract the contents of the mod .toc.

  Since you can't combine HTML and AMX pages in the same element, you will need to create two separate functions. Unfortunately, HTML features cannot use the workflow. It complicates things a bit.

  A.AMX must be in a workflow. B.HTML should be the default page for the HTML feature.

  You must create a scope of Application JavaBean. This bean, implement a method that calls the HTML function. This is done via the utilities of the MAF container API. See http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/maf210/mobile/develop-maf/appx-maf-javascript.htm#ADFMF23884. You must also add a property for the parameter to the JavaBean, but also a getter/setter methods. Bind the JavaBean property on the a.amx page. This can be done by a setPropertyListener, for example.

  To navigate from a b, add a method call to the workflow where a.amx is referenced.

  To read the value of parameter b.html, simply use the MAF JavaScript APIs in your HTML page to access the value stored in the JavaBean.

• Missing TOC nesting in HTML5 publish output

  I use only FM2015. I don't have a RoboHelp. I also tried under FM12 with similar results.

  I try to use the publish to Responsive HTML5 feature, but my OCD is not correct. I started with a new single with 1 book and 1 generated TOC. The main problem I have is that the resulting table of content that appears in the left pane of the resulting html code lists all my subjects at the 1 level, instead of a "snapshot" of the subjects. For example, if have OCD for H1, H2 and H3 levels. I expect to see something like:

  * Heading H1

  * Section H2

  * Heading H3

  * Section H2

  Instead, I get all at the same level.

  

  In the "Style Mapping" settings I scored under the paragraph styles like "divided into categories based on this style. I also have a table of standard contents generated with all topics in there.

  I can control the TOC which appears in the HTML output that is sensitive? I use the "Azure_Blue" layout (This is the only provision available. Can I get others?) I use all of the defaults.

  I found precious little documentation on this feature to 'Publish' anywhere. It's a very good thing if it works.

  To create navigation TOC levels in a table of contents in the output to publish FM, we must change the property of size & weight are renfonçait.

  We determine the level by setting these properties by Tag:

  -First indent,

  -Font Size,

  -Font

  that is, if you want to have titre3 appear inside Title2 like this:

  Title2

  In Para designer > properties updated by designer of these 2 tags (Heading2TOC, Heading3TOC):

  -First indent Heading2TOC Heading3TOC more

  - Or font of Heading2TOC less Heading3TOC

  - Or the size of the police of Heading2TOC less Heading3TOC
