record of LR to ps4 - save a jpeg file

Very new to LR.  After I send a file to the ps4 I can't save the file as a jpeg.  Help!

When you use the function "Edit in Photoshop" or another editing program there are only four options for the TIFF or PSD file in 16 bit or 8-bit.

However if you want to save a jpg file after that installation you will need to use "save under" and allows you to choose the size and location to save the file. If you work in 16-bit, you will need to convert to 8 bits before you save it as a jpg file.

The jpg file will be automatically imported into the LR catalog. If you save a tiff or psd file will be imported next to the raw file.

I need to save a JPEG banner with transparent areas, around the shape of the banner. How do I do this in CS6? There is no transparent Matt choice, only colors and 'none' which translates as white edges. I'm on a Mac running OS 10.7.5/CS6. Thanks for the ideas.

You do not have.  You can not.

The JPEG format does not support transparency.  Period.

Not in any version of Photoshop and not in any other software on this planet.

Use PNG, PSD, PSB, GIF or TIFF.

  • Options format when you save a jpeg file

What is the difference between ' basic', 'Basic optimized' and 'Progressive' and what is best for each option?

    Hi jpiaget,

Basic Standard is used when you want to than your JPG to be recognizable to most web browsers. It is basic and, well... standard! He made few changes in your image. Support all web browsers.

Baseline optimized optimises the quality of the colors in the image and produces a slightly smaller file size (2 to 8% - a little more compression, or slightly faster loading). All modern web browsers are supported,

    * Standard and optimized to produce good quality images, so it's really just a matter of choice. "Baseline (optimized)" could reduce the size of the file slightly (2% or more) and might be inconsistent with viewers using the old technology. ". "Optimized'could produce better colors, but that might not be imperceptible.'" Progressive. "

Progressive departure creates an image that appears gradually as downloaded.means is that the image is rendered as (like old used televisions) scan lines so that a browser will quickly show image quality reduced by half the scan lines, while it resolves the entire image.

Verdict optimized base is the best choice among the three.

You can see this Overview of the picture Formats and when to use Each One

Don't forget that the JPG is a method "lossy" compression of image files - it throws image data before compression, so set your 'Quality' option to 'extended '. It is the key for image quality setting.

Otherwise, you should look for other Formats like Png

    Hope that helps

  • Save metadata to file problem

It's really confusing to me... In catalog settings, I automatically "save changes into XMP" NOT checked. When I want to record, I select all, then "save metadata to file. However, most of the time this saves only the image "Most selected", it does not t create/write to XMP for all files selected? However, I know that it is intended to save all of the selected files and I also know that sometimes it is / has recorded all of the XMP files for me. I can't understand why sometimes it saves all files and some time only "most selected"? I tried in the library and develop Modules. Is there a reason for this or is this some sort of bug?

I use Lightroom version 3 on a Mac. But I also used to have the same problem on Version 2 as well.

    Thank you very much

Switch to grid view - everything you do in the grid view should always be followed for all images.

  • Recorded a set of JPEG files to PDF has worked this morning, but now it doesn't.

Recorded a set of JPEG files to PDF has worked this morning, but now it doesn't. I could have 10 images in the photo tray, choose "Print" in the Adobe PDF format and all pictures in the tray could be combined in a single file.

I could choose the resolution of the image, the size of the paper, centering, all, for the whole group. Now, all it will use is 1 image in the main editing window, completely ignoring the images in the photo tray.

I have 216 images for a publication. Batch processing allows the resolution smaller I want whether. I don't like if the files are large.

How to return the method that I used earlier today? What has changed during my little break? I even closed the program and made a boot cold, still does not work.

    Any help is appreciated.

HA! I found a way simpler to produce PDFs from a group of images! No need to use the Organizer, which adds many additional steps to the process.

In the bar gray above the drawer to photos of the items, on the far right, there is a small dropdown menu with the choice of printing the tray as a file, save Bin as an album or Show Grid. It works perfectly!

    Hi all

I am very new to scripting (from this morning) and struggling to get my head round if the following is possible. My apologies if I'm missing something basic.

I wish I could have a script that opens a jpeg image, insert the name of the file on the image, save as a jpeg and close.

All you need to do is create a small script to add a text layer.  Then record a script uses action.   The action by using the file menu, you can batch > Scripts > image processor.  In the dialog box image processor that it points to a folder that contains your source image files. They can be jpg or any other type of image file that is supported by Photoshop. Point to a folder to save the jpg files.  Set it to save file JPG (a resizing option settings). Point it at your action game and the text by adding the action.

  • Adobe Action: Save in JPEG, but stop to make me change the file name?

I need to save about 100 different JPEG files based on a model with different texts in each JPEG.

I have my layers put in place a model behind, and all layers of text 100 on each other. So I turn on one at a time the text layers and save as JPEG with different names.

I find it is a very difficult process, as I select "save under", then scroll the file types to select JPEG, then save it with the desired name.

Is there a way to speed up, to create an action that opens the dialog box "Save as" with JPEG ALREADY selected so everything what I have to do is paste the new file name in? Or any other suggestions?

Skip a single step to scroll in the dialog box "save under" select JPEG save me tons of time. But I can not understand how... I can only find a way to create an action to "save under" that bears the same name.

    Thank you very much!

Why not just save a step select the folder you want to save on save slot, use the drop-down list menu file type select Jpeg and click Save. Stop recording action turn on the Sava in the dialogue of the stage and assign a function to the action button. When you use the key yoh all have to do is name of the file.

  • JPEG files @ vs quality Maximum recording

    Hello

    Hope you are well.

I was saving a few pictures someone sent me which are JPEG files. I had saved the default of 8 (top), but then it dawned on me that maybe I should be keeping to the Maxiumum for better image quality.

Is there a difference? Is it useful to take back and re-record the ones I only saved as high as Maximum?

    Thank you very much.

JPEG files are compressed freshly whenever you save, so the damage accumulates. Re-register now wouldn't that make worse it. When you receive a jpeg file in the future, save it immediately as tiff or psd.

In general, jpeg is a transport format (and a good one at that) - but it's not a working format. The golden rule for jpeg is to save once.

But don't panic. As long as you stay in the higher ranges (8-12), two or three stops are likely not to degrade it in a visible way.

  • Photoshop CS 5.1 (v12.1 x 64) trial do not save to JPEG or the more common formats

I downloaded and installed CS PS 5.1 evaluation edition today. All I had to do was slightly modify a photo and save it as a JPEG file so that I can use it in a word in the document. Successfully, I open the JPEG file that I had to change and the changes I want, but I can't save the file as a JPEG. I record in the following formats: PSD, large Document Format, Portable Bitmap, OpenEXR, Radiance, and TIFF. The "Save for the web and other devices" option in the main menu is greyed out and inaccessible. I've updated Photoshop both my OS without effect. Reportedly the trial is supposed to be fully functional (presumably including the common image formats economy), but this is not the case here.

Does anyone have advice or a line of conduct, that I can take to resolve this problem?

    Thank you!

Yes, you can remove the file from the imported image, if you have imported the image as managed.  IE preferences in ave Photos settled on "import: copy items to the photo library" being the default.

I assume that you use the application overview.

I can't find an answer to back up everything, but a workaround could be while the file menu options are visible, press the option key

and the point of the window will become close, if you click on that dialogue will ask you if you want to restore the changes or save

pressing Save will close the image with the changes and then move to the next image and so on.

  • How to save multiple JPEG images in a single file

I scanned 22 photos (1800 KB total) and I need to transfer all of them for a job application.

The problem is, when I'm on the job site and I hit the icon of the file attached, I can only select one file.

The site will only allow a single file transfer only.

So, is it possible to save all jpeg in jepg files one file, so I can send them into a single file?

What email program are you using? If you used Windows Mail for example, you could highlight all 22 JPEG files, and then drag them into the text box of a new message and they will settle.

You can put all the JPEG images in a single folder and then right-click | Send to | Compressed (zipped) folder and attach that. The recipient would save the file and then right-click | Extract all.
