Recover Google Chrome uninstall.

Hi, I installed Google Chrome and decided to uninstall it.  I reset IE8 to its values by default and all seems OK with a GLARING question!  It seems that if I click on a hyperlink in Outlook 2007, I get this funky error message:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.  Please contact your system administrator. »

I'm on a Vista 32 PC using Office 2007 and IE8 standalone.  I found "solutions" perform a search, but almost all of them are for XP.  I tried to re - install IE8 but it tells me that my version is the latest and I can't re - install.  I don't think I've ever had IE7 on PC, so of course I am reluctant to uninstall that.

Any ideas on how to recover from the disaster of Google?

Thank you!

Thanks, Lorien - which looks like a good tool to have.  Unfortunately, Google Chrome is uninstalled so can't find this tool.  I think when Google Chrome was installed he made changes to the registry that no longer work.  As I said, IE8 seems to go OK, it's just that when clicking on hyperlinks in Outlook 2007 e-mail, I get this error message "operation cancelled due to restrictions".

  • Win7 pro x 64 crashes when I try to open or uninstall Google Chrome

I am running Windows 7 Professional x 64 on my HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop series. I had this thing for nearly four years.

I used Google Chrome because it was in beta stage and have never had any problems with it until a few days ago.
I have recently (November 17) crossed and deep - clean the whole HARD disk. I uninstalled a ton of unused programs, removed a lot of old files, defragmented and CCcleaned the whole thing. Then crossed and scanned with Malwarebytes and MSE, finding nothing.
About a week passed without any problem, all of a sudden, the computer crashed on me. When it restarted, he said that he had recovered from a serious error, which I hit 'OK '.
Since then, whenever I try to open Google Chrome or uninstall, the computer crashes upward. I can't do anything with the start menu, taskbar, anything. Even in safe mode, the same thing happens.
I tried Combofix; who gave no result, Malwarebytes; who gave nothing and MSE. that also gave nothing.
I uninstalled Rainmeter, which I think could have some problems, but nothing has changed.
I got two times to give me a blue screen. Both times I was unable to write the error code because it restarted too quickly. Since then, I have disabled automatic reboot on option of the accident, but have not been able to reproduce the blue screen.
Currently, my laptop is sitting in safe mode after trying to uninstall Chrome (or get a blue screen). There is no taskbar. In fact, he does that the cursor on a black screen that says "Safe Mode" in the corners and ' Microsoft (R) Windows (R) (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) "above. I can move the cursor, but nothing else does nothing. The hard disk too hard hitting. The light on the laptop is solid and I can certainly hear the HARD drive actually doing something. Go to hard power it down.
I have not seen another thing like that in my research. I'm willing to try almost anything at this point.
Any help is greatly appreciated and I will do my best to give all the information I can, as requested. Thank you.

(As of finishing strike, bar jobs in safe mode are back, but as soon as I try to access the start menu, it crashes again.)

I think I've solved the problem.

I used CCleaner uninstall feature to remove the Chrome from the computer. He locked up after about five minutes. I waited another five and then tried ctrl-alt-del my way in Manager tasks to see if I could do something there. This time, it worked, and as soon as I booted up the Task Manager, CCleaner is out and a window pops up telling me that Chrome has successfully uninstalled.
So far, I have not found anything else that lock the door to the top of my computer and still no virus or malware.
I don't know what caused the Chrome corrupted, but I seem to have fixed, so Bravo for me, I guess.
Hope this can help someone else who runs into this problem in the future.

need to uninstall and reinstall firefox, it tells me to close google chome windows I get thi message when I

Uninstall Firefox ask you to close Google Chrome? It's strange. I guess that you have closed all the browser windows when this happens.

I should ask: why do you need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Usually, this does not resolve problems with Firefox. Maybe read this article: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons.

  • Upgrades to 8 and restarted Firefox but when you try to start the message get FF this restart is required to complete installation; same message if I try to re - install or uninstall and seq. wrote this using Google Chrome.

Upgrade to 8 FF (of 3.6) seem to go smoothly, as did restart on Acer desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium. But I get "reboot needed to complete the installation of FF" whenever I try to start and seq. tried uninstalling FF using the uninstall from the control panel and uninstall in my Mozilla folder - get the same message "Restart required". Tried to reinstall FF - same message. In short, totally unusable FF - and I'm starting to like Google Chrome.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox before installing, but do not remove your profile data when you uninstall Firefox (do not select delete data of a personal nature) or you will lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder. Remove the Firefox program folder as well.

trying to unstall google chrome it says close all Windows Google canfind first everything in the open wind

I faced this problem too, but I realized what the problem was.

Open the Task Manager and there you can find on Google Notifications running in the background.

Put an end (END TASK) and then try to uninstall chrome, it worked in my case.

NOTE: apart from this, you can find a few other tasks of chrome running in background.

Usually, they would have the Chrome icon, but sometimes, in the case of Notifications, the icon is different.

  • Uninstalled Google Chrome, but Windows Photo Gallery does not always work.

Using Vista Home Premium. Downloaded a program from small utility and it turns out Google Chrome, which I didn't, was grafted on the program and installed itself without my OK. I uninstalled the program utility and Google Chrome. With the help from here, I have eliminated the problem of links in the emails no longer works, but have been unable to get Windows Picture Gallery working again.

I renamed the file "pictures.pd4" as suggested here. That did not help.

Earlier you mentioned Pictures.pd4... that indicates a
old version of photo gallery. Have you tried to download

  • Cannot open hyperlinks after uninstalling Google Chrome

Please don't refer me to the previous post on this topic, I think I tried them all.

After uninstalling Google Chrome, hyperlinks in MS Outlook will be notwork.  I tried most of the things recommended in the old forum posts, but they all seem to be prior to Windows 7.  Nothing worked and I'm looking forward to a solution.  HTML file associations, etc are all in IE9, Chrome has been uninstalled, edited registry (even though I'm not an expert there) IE9 release candidate has been downloaded and installed.  I must respond to a window asking whenever I click on a hyperlink asking how to open the file so I have to manually associate with IE.   I am running:
