Recovery of comments in a pdf document

Hello, I have a document that a user has commented on and saved.  After re-opning the document, the comments have disappeared.  I have the PDF and the .tmp, is possible to retrieve the comments?  The .tmp is not able to open in the reader.  He says that the file is damaged.

Hey erikw81120081,

Could you please check under Edit > Preferences > Documents if the option "automatically save changes to the temporary file every XX minutes" is checked or not.

If Yes, then you might find a saved copy of the PDF file somewhere in the temporary folders of the drive.

Let me know.

Kind regards

Ana Maria

  • Unable to make comments on a pdf document protected password in adobe acrobat dc on ipad

    Hello

I received a password via email protected pdf that I opened in adobe acrobat ms on my ipad. I am prompted for a password that I go and can then open the PDF very well. However, I want to annotate the pdf document, but get the following message appears when I try to select the comment function, "restricted document: this tool is not available because document security settings.

If I open the document on a windows device by using the adobe reader software, I can save and make fine annotations. I don't seem to be able to do it on the mobile app for iPad (Adobe acrobat cc).

Is there a way around this for the iPad?

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Please provide a detailed description of the problem.

The contents of the PDF document protected by password is encrypted (so that no one can read the content until the password is entered).

Mobile products Acrobat DC (for iOS and Android) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are not able to make changes (addition of comments/annotations or forms) for encrypted PDF documents.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Need for pdf document marked for import PDF comments in FM9

I created a pdf document that is marked by following the instructions at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/9.0/Using/WS84144A47-0C79-46f0-9909-B6AB5E45439C.ht ml, using FrameMaker 9, but Adobe Reader 9 does not allow me to comment on this PDF. When I check the security properties, it shows commenting: unauthorized, but when I click on "Show details" I see comments: admitted. I'm running on Windows 7. If I'm going to another computer running Windows XP and Acrobat 9 Pro, change MANUALLY, security options I can then comment using Reader 9. How can I get my PDF review be CommentReady? ~ Linda

    Hi Linda,.

You need ubiquitous PDF to provide comments using Acrobat reader. Next blog explains ways you can achieve this goal.

  • Can I create a PDF document that can be commented by others using the PLAYER

I have dozens (hundreds?) of PDF books I bought. One who created made them if anyone using Adobe Reader 5 or can be done better highlights and comments on the text.  I use the function to correct typos and send to the Publisher. I know this is possible because I've done it for several years before I ever get Adobe Standard.

So... My question is... How can I create documents like this that can be placed in the comments on the use of Adobe Reader? I have Adobe 8 Standard and I don't see this as a separate Adobe Pro feature. and I hope Miss me just instructions on how it's done. I don't have any problem to do what I want to use Adobe 8 Standard, but I need to be able to make it feasible in Reader so that others can make comments in my documents.

Thank you for taking the time...

'Enable usage rights in Adobe Reader' or "Extend the functionality of Adobe Reader"
are available with Acrobat 8 Professional / 3D version 8 or Acrobat Professional / Pro Extended respectively.
In addition, Adobe provides basic service (LiveCycle ES) server that "active / extends" PDF as Adobe Reader can be used for observation, examination, Digital Signature, etc..

You can use Adobe Reader to comment on PDF files means a requests above were used.
Because you mentioned that PDFs are purchased the manuals in PDF format, I suspect that LiveCycle ES was used.
This application based on the server (which has a myriad of 'modules' available) is expensive so, in general, it is allowed by the companies that need its features. Examples: the majors publishers or Government agencies (e.g., IRS).

If you move upward, to Acrobat Professional, that you will be able to "extend features in Adobe Reader ' such that others can run comments & reviews on your PDF documents.

As Acrobat 9.x is the current version, marketed as the professional version would be made available via an upgrade (do not be confused with the free "updates").

  • SOS! Comment by modifier content of a native or scanned PDF document?

    Hello

    I don't know about ADOBE!

    A few days ago, I bought a PACK ADOBE € 77...

I thought with PACK can modify the content the native or scanned PDF documents.

    How do I?

    Thank you for your attention

Adobe PDF package can convert PDFs to Word, Excel, etc. and vice versa.  It can also perform the recognition of characters (OCR) when exporting a scanned document.

However, he cannot edit PDF files. you will need Acrobat for that.

  • How can I draw in a pdf document?

Im a teacher and I receive my homework to students as pdf files. And I want to be able to draw in these files, my students writing notes. Since I'm a math teacher, I would like to be able to write a mathematical notation and make explanatory drawings for my students.

So my question is: is it possible to draw in a pdf document? Im not asking if I can insert a drawing or a picture, but actually draw directly into the document.

The drawing tool is not that easy to use and it has not discussed by Adobe. When you try to write for example, it will often change to a selection of what you drew rather than allow you dot an "i" or cross a "t". If you find that this is a problem, the alternative for number of educators is PDF Annotator. I don't like ad another product here, but it's a question that does not respond to Adobe. There you can write and draw your level of desire without this issue of future selection. However, he is unable to do much more.

If you are looking to buy Acrobat for special needs, be sure to check pricing for educational use (products).

Looks like you may reflected on the drive and not the full Acrobat. In Acrobat, the drawing tools are under the comments.

  • do I have to pay just to split a PDF document?

I am trying to split a PDF document and when I click on organize pages, none came. It says I have to pay for all of the other tools. This doesn't seem quite right, because there should be a way for me to separate the pages without having to pay for this ability. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

That is right. The Adobe Acrobat Reader software is designed only to view, comment on and print pdf files, but not to change them.

This, to the full version of Adobe Acrobat.

  • Open the pdf document

    Hello

I have a little problem with an application of thinapped. With the app, there is a pdf document. When I try to open this PDF for the virtualized application starts the installation of the Acrobat Reader software and then show me an error saying I could not find the given document.

I have read the manual, but haven't found anything useful. Someone has a tip for me?

    Hey,.

To use pdf files in another application, you need to use the function "APPLINK" for ThinApp.

Here are the steps to create an Application virtualized with Adobe Reader as a plugin using the function "APPLINK":

    PRE REQUISTIS:

Virtualize applications using ThinApp on a clean machine.

Virtualize Adobe Reader ThinApp NICU on a clean machine.

Now take the package Application and goto the Bin folder.

    Create a folder called "plugins".

Place the contents of the Bin folder of the Adobe package in the plugins folder.

    PACKAGE. INI CHANGES:

Open the file package.ini in the Application package.

Goto the section "use general parameters.

Here, you will find two instructions:

OptionalApplinks = plugins\ * .exe or .dat (use the file that is the primary data container).

RequiredAppLinks = plugins\ * .exe or .dat (use the file that is the primary data container).

NOTE: You can choose one or the other.

Option will allow the Application to work even without Adobe Reader as plugins.

Required only allows the Application of the function if Adobe reader is present in the plugins folder.

The desired type of Applink comment and add the name of the file .exe or .dat in the end.

    For example: OptionalAppLinks = plugins\Adobe Reader 9.3.dat

Save the changes to the file package.ini.

    RECONSTRUCTION:

Copy the Application package on a clean machine on the C drive.

    Install Thinapp on this machine.

Goto the Application package, and then click "BUILD. BAT. "

This will rebuild the package with Adobe as plugin.

    TEST:

Copy the package on the computer where you want to launch the application.

PDf file opens without error thanks to the virtualized application.

It should work. Please let me know if it does.

    Thank you

    Maddy

  • Restriction of PDF Document

I want to be able to ensure that only one person at a time can open a PDF or gives you a warning when the document is already open - a lot like MS Office documents when you try to open a document that someone else has opened.

At the moment - the only way to know that someone else has the document open is when you go to save the document, and you get a message saying that it is already to save it under another name of the document.

Any ideas/suggestions? This causes me a bit of sadness that I have to combine, by copying and pasting comments changes from several documents into one document.

    Thank you!

It is not possible. Acrobat / Adobe Reader are not and cannot create a lockfiles, so there is absolutely no way to know if someone else opened a copy.

  • Suddenly a double click on a PDF document opens the Acrobat application, but the document does not load.

Until today, I had no problem opening a PDF document that I've saved by double-clicking it. Now when I do that, my Acrobat application opens, but the PDF document does not work. I need to use the file / open to select the document that I want to see, or I need to the mouse click on the PDF to the right and choose 'open with '. I had this once before and I had help to solve them, but I use Acrobat 7 Professional and since it is not supported, I can't help when I call Support.

Sounds like a Windows problem. Try right-clicking and select ALWAYS open with feature. Who is supposed to fix the link. If this does not work, open the type of file under TOOLS menu > Folder Options (display XP, can be different in VISTA). If you select advanced as PDF, you get a link under the open > modify something like "c:\adobeapp\acrobat 5.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" '%1 '. The comment you make looks like %1 or quotes are missing.
