• cold vsphere 4.1 - should migration take how long?

  Hello!

  We begin the process of upgrading our hosts and components vSphere 4.1 to 5.5.  We have to increase the RAM on the hosts and therefore need to move some virtual machines between hosts.

  Some of these virtual machines have no VM Tools installed, so they must be cold migrated.  Stop, migrate, restart, rinse and repeat.

  I'll do some tests, but my previous experience on it's a little blurry.  Let's not storage, just the virtual machine.  I remember this will only take a couple minutes to complete.

  What is your experience with this kind of cold migration how long does?

  From my own experience, I can say that there a really a lot of time and the laptop restarts very often then worry Don t, it normal s behavior. ;)

  So wait a little longer and a coffee for example. Everything will be done automatically and after this procedure, you must return to factory. Your laptop will be ready to use again.
