Reference Dell 5558, 8 beebing on startup, no black screen and works with the beebing

Hello

I have a problem with my Dell insipiron r15 5558, I bought it 3 months ago. But last month my laptop beep 8 times at startup. When this happens, I usually only the power out of my laptop because of the distracting noise and turn it back on. Once I powered on / off power for 3 - 4 times it don't beep plus one works very well. Anyone know what could be the problem? I ran a Test LCD and an analysis of Pre-boot system, it was running fine without any problem, I used my warranty and sent the labtop to dell here the last 2 weeks, they sent and didn't tell that it is no problem with my laptop, but it is still beebing 8 times by clicking on the power on

BTW. I'm on Windows 10 pro 64-bit

Hello

8 attention beep is usually to do with the problems of LCD, as you already know.   If diagnostics are passing and the system has been returned to the warehouse for the evaluation, the only thing I think it could be is a connecting cable of the LCD screen.  You said sometimes works very well after starting several times, then maybe it's the cable.

Have you tried to hold the screen in different positions when it turn on?   Just to see if guidance works better and maybe the cable is a better connection.  You can check if the cable is loose yourself.  Here is a link to the online manual for the Inspiron 15r 5558.  You can use it to see how a screen is normally replaced, but instead to replace it you would just check the connection of the cable to make sure it's tight.  NOTE: Make sure you follow the safety instructions and information in the section "before you begin".

Let us know if you find a loose fitting and if the adjustment of the angle of the screen change anything when you try to turn on the system.  I hope it's something as simple as a bad connection and you can correct it.  If the ringing continues I recommend to contact Dell support again and have them send it back for repair, unfortunately.

  • Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 does not work with the charger. Charger is not recognized. No problem with charger.

My Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 does not recognize charger. And unfortunately my warranty expired 2 months ago.
It was plugged and work in the morning, but then in the afternoon I noticed he was running on battery only. It does not start without battery (charger just plugged).

1 this is what I did to debug. Me and my brother, we bought the same computers Dell laptops at the same time a year and a bit ago. That's why a debugging purposes, it was good.
I took my charger and plugged into his computer. And it works. Certainly not the charger problem I guess. And when I plug the charger my computer, green light is still on the charger. And I have the original charger provided with the laptop.

    2. now, laptop is running on battery only, so that means that this motherboard works. I think so.

    3. the next thing I did was charger disconnected and removed the battery from the laptop. Then I pushed and hold the "Power" button for 45 seconds to pay a royalty to the flea market. Charger plugged in but laptop will not start.

    4. then I booted the laptop on battery, went to the BIOS and check if the charger is recognized in the BIOS. No, it does not recognize charger. So, if this isn't a charger so what else can we?

5 laptop has no strange smells so I don't know if something happened with the motherboard, but I guess that motherboard is ok because it works battery.

    6. I was thinking of updating the BIOS, but I can't do it, because it will be not be updated then the laptop runs on the battery, it needs to be plugged.

Now I'm stuck. I don't know what I can do. I'm willing to spend a little more money on it to try to fix.

If someone had such a problem in the past please let me know what you have done and if it fixed it.
Or if anyone has any other ideas, I will be happy and appreciated the help.

Hello and sorry for this late post. Just had this problem... If there is nothing wrong with the AC adapter, it's a software problem.

Close the laptop... Unplug the AC adapter / CC... Remove the battery... Plug the power adapter... Start the laptop... Go to the control panel... Find and select the Device Manager... Batteries, left click... Uninstall Microsoft AC Adapter, uninstall Microsoft ACPI compatible with battery control method... In fact, uninstall all you can under the batteries, but that should be all there is. It will be re - install when starting... Stop cell phone... Remove the AC adapter / CC... Replace the battery... Plug the power adapter... Start the laptop... Now, everything should be good.

  • EQL PS6010 online and I want to upgrade the capacity of the disk but original Dell drive are not available, it is possible to replace it with the original brand of Seagate.

    Hello

One of my largest clients use a PS6010XV storage in production for 3 years. It is equipped with 8 disks SAS 600 GB drive HARD 15'000 rpm and shortly it will be out of space. He ask me full fill the table with hard 16 600 GB.

My sales representative Dell told me that this kind of upgrade is not possible, the 600GB 15,000 rpm SAS drives is not available...

My client is very upset by this situation and I'm trying to find another solution.

Is it possible fill completes the picture with the original disc Seagate Cheetah 15K 3.5 "600 GB SAS 6 GB/s 24 x 7, type ST3600057SS instead of the original Dell disks?

I can see the Dell drive (P/N 0944832 - 01) are Seagate brand and type is exactly the same.

    Hello

No, because it is custom firmware on the brand of Dell disks.  The EQL firmware will be search and reject non Dell/EQL brand discs.  Do not add any disk brand would also void the warranty.

The problem is that on the screen, mouse and touchpad work correctly. Now I can solve the problem by pressing the power button to let him sleep and a second time to activate it, but I don't want to do it every day.

Anyone has the answer to this? Please, I beg you! I just got a few days ago!

    Thank you.

Hey, guys, I had the touchscreen partially responsible (upper right part) + 100% of the CPU. What I ended up doing, it was a clean install of Windows 10 and do NOT install Dell Quickset. I repeat, DO NOT install of Quickset. Hardware works fine without it and I stopped to get 100% of the CPU after idle and touch screen works normally. The only downside is that I get an unrecognized component (ACPI\SMO8810\1), which I think has to do with the keyboard locking in tablet mode. This isn't the complete solution of 100%, but I feel that the Dell power plan is not coded correctly. For any question, you guys might have, let me know!

  • Windows 7 works with the Dell Precision 670 computer?

I have a Dell Precision 670 workstation. It came with Windows xp x 64. I later upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate x 64. The only problem I had at the time is that the host SCSI controller is not recognized by Vista. I used the XP x 64 drivers for the scsi controller and worked well. I want to upgrade my Vista x 64 to Windows 7 x 64. Everything else does? Doing a job? The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor reports the controller scsi HD as an unknown (just under the name Vista Upgrade Advisor).

The HD controller is an embedded controller the Adaptec SCSI HostRaid (Ultra320). I was not able to determine the model # of the controller.

A representative of Micorsoft with what I discussed this said as a general rule, if your hardware works with Vista service pack 1, you're usually good to go.

On the Dell website, it lists the 690 as working with Windows 7. It is a similar job, but I can't say with certainty how similar.

I saw him last night. I'll look over it.

    Hello Rafael,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

We need more information about the issue so that we can help you better.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

Thank you for details on the issue.

This problem may occur because of corrupted display driver.

I suggest to start your computer in safe mode, uninstall the display driver, restart your computer in normal mode

mode and update driver from the website of the manufacturer of the computer display.

    Please see this link:

  • Windows 7 - partition windows on a new drive... travel startup gives nothing but the black screen and blinking cursor

I am replacing a hard drive and move a partition Windows 7 from one disk to another.  The original partition of Windows 7 starts and works perfectly, but when I clone to the new drive, I have a terrible problem getting the new boot drive.

On the original drive, the partition is the partition 3, on the new disk partition is partition 2.

Both drives have the same size of cylinder.

The new partition was created as a partition main with the same dimensions as the other and cloned in the whole content of the partition.  The files are all there in the new partition.

He is currently not starting correctly, it starts the partition, but then he's here - I don't see Windows Welcome screen or anything - just immediately inadmissible black screen with a blinking cursor.  All I can do is reboot.  By pressing F8 at startup does nothing.

Start of support for windows 7 and running repair features discovered the new partition as C: and CHKDSK C: points and gives a good report of the partition.

    BIOS settings have been lacking.

The following commands were executed the repair windows 7 installation media feature:

    Of http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749177 (v = ws.10) .aspx

    BOOTSECT/NT60 C:

    And http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/927392

    BOOTREC /FIXMBR

    BOOTREC /FIXBOOT

    C:
    BOOT CD
    BCD ATTRIB S H R
    REN C:\BOOT\BCD BCD. OLD
    BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD

The new partition was made active and is the only asset.

If I erase and freshly installed Windows 7 on the partition, it does not start successfully, but if I then replace the contents of the partition with a clone of the other partition of work, it does not work.

So that leaves me with a pretty good confidence that the problem has nothing to do with the charger starting and everything related to the content of the partition itself.

I can't find more useful information for the boot partition.

    Any ideas?

Moving Windows is not the best method.

It is better to 'image' or 'clone' Windows to the new drive, using software such as Acronis

True Imageor AOEMI Partition Wizard (free). I've used both (has a free version of Western Digital

Acronis to use if you have WD hard drives).

    .Acronis.com/en-au/Personal/PC-Backup

    .disk-partition.com/Free-Partition-Manager

(EDIT: I need to be careful.) Had redundant stuff here...;). )

Dual-boot can be difficult in the best of times, but two partitions on a HARD drive...

I don't think that you can select a particular partition in the BIOS to be your first boot option, only

from the HARD disk, so it would be a blow to the top.
