  but after you have entered your serial number of cs5.5, the installer will search your computer for cs3.  Unable to find the Setup program will present a drop-down list of previous versions.  Select cs3.  you will be prompt to enter the serial number for cs3.

  Enter the correct number at the right time and proceed with the installation.

  There is a faster way... Start with CS6 installing directly, when you are prompted to enter the serial number for the previous version, enter and you should be good to go.

  If Vista is preinstalled on your OLD computer, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

  The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.

  When you install the software, new, or even once, he installed the original version of ACR plugin, perhaps 6.0 in this case, and it probably should be updated via help / updates, and for CS5, you should get 6.7 ACR.

  If the camera that come raw files is newer somehow on this computer as on the old computer, then maybe you need to update PS itself.  Here is a list of what versions of ACR will work with model cameras:
