  • Unable to recover the old data synchronization after reinstalling operating system

    Hello

I was using Firefox 26. Recently, I've upgraded to the latest version. A few reasons, I had to reinstall my windows 7 OS.

After I installed Windows 7, I installed the latest Firefox and tried to synchronize data. I was unable to connect because I forgot the password. I tried using the link "password forgotten", but he said there is no such thing as e-mail id. It was surprising to me. I'm still all emails, including the secret key, I used to add new devices earlier, since Firefox in my mail box.

Since I left without another option, if I'm creating a new represent now on Firefox with old email ID. The account is created successfully. Again, it is strange to me. However, my old data are not synchronized.

I need the old data. Help, please.

    -
    Thank you
    Ravi

Sorry, Sync was not intended to be used to backup Firefox data before reinstalling the operating system. Its purpose is to synchronize several separate installations of Firefox, usually on the various devices.

The old version of Firefox 26 uses another version of Sync, the latest version of synchronization happen in Firefox 29. The largest variation in sync had to do with the recovery key ('secret key') - is no longer something to see the user or has to deal.

You should have installed Firefox 28 or earlier and then connected to your account synchronization to recover your data and then put updated for Firefox 32. By creating a new account with the same email address, your data has been wiped out by synchronization servers to allow you to start a new.

Reboot, or power on the laptop and immediately after that the Sony Vaio logo disappears, press the F10 key several times. This brings you to the built-in recovery Partition.

You can reinstall the operating system from there.

  • Hard drive dead - reinstall operating system without CD?

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion DV6-6024TX, who has recently had the hard disk matrix. The laptop is out of warranty.

I purhcased a new hard drive and installed shortly, but I have no copy of the sytem (windows 7 32-bit) OS to install on the new drive. As the old drive died and won't start Windows I can't extract it from there.

Is there a way I can legally download the OS and use it to boot Windows and use my existing key or I have to buy some CD (heard that a few people on this site but can't find the link).

    Would appreciate help.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Yes, you can use your existing product key to reinstall Windows 7 as described below.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - IE Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • Reinstall operating system clean

Hi, my PC has become very slugish and less than a pleasure to use. In my opinion, only a clean reinstall of Windows XP-Home Edition OS would be an advantage. I do not have the Partition Recovery and recovery disks BUT the OS has a load of change since purchase I was thinking of using a Windows XP disk and to do a reformat and clean install. I have Windows XP on CD, SP2 SP3 & on CD as well. I have Office 2007 and don't want to go back to what was the original, I have IE on loan from CD, but also utilities that I use now, and as there are a lot of things in the original installation I won't have on the machine now, i.e. of Money 2000, work, as well as other programs exits/old that is is packed with the original install , it simply comes down to insert the Windows XP disk and following the guests?

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

    HP Pavilion 504 has; 1.80 GHz; 1.50RAM

If you have a full retail version of XP, you can easily do a clean install of the operating system. First of all, don't forget to backup or copy data files, you currently have on your machine. You will lose everything that is currently on the hard disk. Make sure you have the disks to reinstall the programs that you want to use. Your machine was originally a machine XP, you should have no problem with the drivers or other hardware. The recovery disks, you return your machine to the same state that he came from the factory, including all associated programs. The commercial version will do a completely clean install with none of the associated software.

I suggest that you first newspaper on the HP site and make sure you have copies of all drivers for your system. Chances are you will not need them, but if you save them to disk, you will know that you have the latest drivers. Then insert your XP disk and follow the instructions. After the initial installation, you will need to activate the program, and then install sp2 and sp3 discs. After that switch from windows update and get all the latest OS, specifically, the security updates, there will be a lot. Install and activate your desired anti-virus software. Then my habit, defragmenting the drive, install the software that you want to activate, defrag again and then create a recovery disk set for you.

If you have an HP machine go to HP Update to ensure that you don't miss the latest drivers for your machine. You machine should be humming along pretty well now, just as when it was new. While you rebuild your machine, consider adding memory. With most operating systems Microsoft more memory significantly complements its effectiveness.

  • Re: Reinstalling operating system on Satellite A100 without deleting the other existing partition

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A100-912 and have not reinstalled the operating system (Windows XP) for several years, but now I think that my laptop works well below par. I have my product recovery CD (disk recovery) and it will use for the re-installation.

I have three partitions on the HARD disk (c, d and e, respectively).

I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

I did this on a Toshiba Satellite L10 using suggestions in this forum, but I don't know how to do it on my own. Is the user interface for the recovery/re-resettlement is not the same thing, so I'm afraid to lose my data if I proceed with the re-install without knowing what to do.

Could you please say on how to make the re-installation of operating system only on the c partition without deleting (data on) other existing partitions.

    Thank you!

    > I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

No, this is not possible. The recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive and therefore the partitions created on the HARD drive would be so removed.
I recommend you to create a backup of the files before starting the recovery procedure.

  • Qosmio G20: I'll lose all reinstall operating system restore CD downloads

I installed Vista on my laptop Qosmio G20 and am happy with how it works.
If I use the recovery cd I lose all my I-Tunes downloads while reinstalling the operating system XP?

You will lose if all downloads are saved on the C partition. Before recovery procedure starts the HARD drive (or chooses the partition) will be formatted and all data will be gone.

Because of this data backup and install WXP using the recovery DVDs delivered.

  • Reinstalling operating system on the HP laptop which has Vista, Win 7 family Premium and Windows 7 Pro installed.

I have a HP Pavilion 6500 CTO (?) vintage 2008 model.  It came with Vista Premium. It is the only time that I forgot to make a recovery disk, but there is a sort of drive partitioned D that could be disaster recovery.  Anyway. .. . . .

I made one of the first Windows 7 Premium Upgrade downloads (I still have the right to download a backup).  I also bought 6 months later any when upgrading to Windows 7 Pro.

I would like to donate this laptop to a member of the family, so I would like to start with a clean slate of the operating system and drivers of origin if the wireless hardware and other works.  Two Questions

    1. If I create a recovery disc in the current state of the computer to have Win 7 Pro loaded, format the hard drive and then try to reinstall the OS from the recovery disk, which will load OS - Vista or Win 7 Pro?

    2. see question 1 - it is the best way to offer a new beginning for the system with a reformat and reinstall OS, or is there a better solution?  As I said, I don't have a recovery for the Vista operating system disk.

    Thanks in advance,

The question is a little more complicated.  When he restores the computer to the original state, it also roll back updates to the BIOS, or are those left intact? Why ask?  At the beginning, on this model of AMD, I had a fan / overheating issue that has been resolved by updating the bios to set when the fan on.  I might have to reinstall this update of the bios of HP!

    Hello

Recovery media, I am referring to disks (or flash drive) that you create yourself using the Recovery Media Creator application on your laptop - you can create it once, so I would definitely recommend to do.  A guide on the creation of this support can be found on the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-envy-X2-11/5296226/model/5336701/document/c03481733

This support will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, all the original software (including applications on the start menu). They will also recreate all the original scores.  A guide on the main ways to perform a factory reset using a recovery or support of the partition recovery (including a video preview) can be found on the link below.

  • Reinstalling operating system and drivers only. Don't want any other software and tools...

    Hello

I want a clean reinstall on my HP Mini 210. How can I reinstall the operating system and drivers only from the recovery partition? I don't want any other software and tools HP...

P.S. I've done a reinstall from the recovery partition and then spend many hours, removal of unwanted and tools software, but traces of these programs remain anywhere in the registry, the Program Files folder...

Here are the specifications of your computer of HP Mini 210-1077CA. According to the specification, this model comes with Windows 7 Starter, which is installed at the factory.

Please see "Recovery discs to create or save an Image to a USB (Windows 7) recovery" for instructions on creating recovery media. See also "Using System Recovery, Factory Reset and Minimized Image Recovery Options" to determine if your computer supports the "recovery Image reduced" and how to perform this recovery option, if it supports.

Reduced Image recovery does the following:
    Reinstall the original operating system.
Re-installs all the drivers of original material.
Reinstall the HP essential software (e.g., HP Support Assistant, HP Recovery Manager, etc.).
Don't install applications for testing or trial games.

Hello, I'm planning on upgrading my PC with a SSD, and instead to transfer all the data from my C drive on the new SSD, I'm planiing to do a clean install of windows on it so my PC as working like new again. I ' LD would like to know if I need to transfer my license CS6 Production Premium on my new SSD and if so, how to go on this subject? Thank you.

you don't transfer any program from adobe (unless you want problems).  You must do a clean install.

but before you begin, turn off your suite adobe (help > deactivate) on your old hardddrive.  otherwise, the installation of the ssd will count as a 2nd of your two activations.

You can then install your operating system on your ssd and then install your adobe software (using your serial number to activate).
