removal of partition

My company is requiring hard disk encryption.  In order to encrypt the HD, I was told to delete the D: drive and file recovery.  How to rmove this partition without affecting the C: drive or files?  What are the consequences of deleting the recovery files?

Hello

The recovery Partition was photographed on the hard disk during the production as a way to reinstall the operating system in case of system failure.

You press some keys (F8, F11, etc.) at startup to start the recovery process

You're supposed to do also the recovery disks to reinstall the operating system in case of hard drive failure.

For more information on the recovery Partition, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

See you soon.

If you mean the partition hidden WinRE Vista then; YES

But don t worry buddy. The Toshiba Vista recovery CD would be to format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions, but it creates the hidden WinRE Vista back to the HARD disk partition.

    Hello

The recovery disk will format the whole HARD drive and will be also possible to erase all partitions created on the HARD drive!
This means that you will lose your photos and all data stored on the HARD drive.

Therefore, you must back up the data before using the recovery disk!

  • completely remove a partition of the HD

I had my iMac a few weeks now and created a partition to put things that I wanted to keep away from the main road.  Now, I decided to install windows 7 and possibly upgrade to windows 10.

    Problem!

When I try to use Bootcamp to install it guard refuses to install because of the existing partition and I don't understand why. Is it possible that this partition can be removed COMPLETELY, not just erased? I tried to reinstall El Capitan once again, but the partition is still there.

    Any ideas?

What happens when you try to use disk utility to delete the partition?

You must make the removal of the partition with the BootCamp Assistant and not with disk utility.

  • Rescue and recovery software will not remove preinstalled Partition

I recently had a T450s by a great process and tries to get her comfortable environment again.

My two latest Lenovo laptops had a recovery in the stock installation partition, and I was able to remove simply by running the top software and selecting an option amounting to "delete backup partition" or something allowing me to back up c.

On this machine, I ran the software and he gave me an option to create a recovery media more. I installed the software, Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery, and he has an option to delete backups, but does not recognize the partition.

It's deeply annoying, I do not use it and he eats up to 15 GB. If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know.

    ADDENDUM:

Moreover, now the software on the partition is not ongoing, saying: it does not find "recovburncd.exe" and try again. Help, please.

So reinstall RNR has failed, but I realized that I could go into administrative tools and modify the disk partitions.

I now have this problem solved, thank you for your comments.

    Hello

If you created your set of recovery disks - (these will be no only reinstall the OS, but recreate the recovery Partition as well)-you can remove the recovery Partition.  If you open the folder Recovery Manager (in all programs), it is usually the option to do so.

  • How to remove a partition unallocated in windows7

I have recentlt bought a laptop which has 500 GB of space, I tried to make 2 partitions and has managed to create one, the other partition is unallocated and unable to appoint or remove, how to remove it?

Work on the basis that you have only FOUR partitions.

    Your computer already has THREE.

    1. A system reserved partition (hidden and no letter assigned)
    2. A primary partition, C
    3. A recovery partition (hidden and no assigned letter)

This leaves space for ONE more, that's why you couldn't create TWO others.

What you need to know is...

If you are already running the process of recovery from the recovery partition or recovery disks, any partition created by you over the content of this partition is summarily DELETED.

    To correct this you did...

Use a 3rd party partition Manager...

    http://www.partition-tool.com/

Use the free version of home and merge with your new partition unallocated space.

  • "Delete Volume" grayed out. What can I do to remove the partition?

    Hello world

I have a laptop quite old and finally 37 GB C: drive is full and I would like to delete the partition between it and the 35 GB D: drive so I can use the entire disk. However, when I go into management records 'Delete Volume' is gray, only "shrink Volume" is available and it cites only 2031MB.

I moved all my files to D: drive to my external drive created back - ups, system images etc. The only thing that remains on the D: drive is 4.71 GB of 'EULA', "LocalizedData" and "SetupResources.dll" of the system files. Would it block the 'Delete Volume' If yes what can I do?

    Running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit.

    Thank you very much

    Help, please

Those are not partitions and unallocated space on the hard disk that could not be assigned to your partitions creating partition, possible due to the alignment or the disc read error.

They cannot be deleted because there is nothing to remove.

You see them once the operating system is installed
