remove a disk, then add her space to another drive?

I reinstalled Windows XP, but made a mistake somewhere along the line and actually installed on a new disk, E, in the same turn as the C drive still existing (and S-L-O-W).  So now, with the addition of the SP3 updates, I have almost no space left on the new disk, and that drive C is still sitting there don't make me no good at all.  How do I remove all the C drive and then absorb all its space in my E drive?

P.S. If this seems to be in the wrong topic, someone suggests a better?  Thank you

You do not have.

They are different physical drives by your description and will remain like that.  No 'absorbing '.

If you DO NOT have anything on the Windows installation on what you call 'C', while disc shoud have been removed (just a precaution) physically during the installation of Windows.  Always is probably your best bet for remove and install fresh Windows once again on your new drive.

But - I can say that if you are almost out of space on your new drive - you should choose bad (to decide how much you need) or decided on a (SSD) technology that is not somethiong, I suggest to use with Windows XP in any case - that you don't win really all the benefits and the cost is just huge for this little out you.  OR you just need to check some of your articles elsewhere.  ;-)

    Hi DJ King,.

I think it is always best to leave the disk d (recovery Partition) only. It is there, while in the case of a catastrophic failure, you can restore your system. In this case, a system restore is not possible.

This means that the disk is almost full.  Unless you free up space soon, your operating system will start to behave strangely and eventually boot is no longer in Windows.

Windows operating system uses a part of the capacity of the hard drive for virtual memory. A good rule is to never come to 15 to 20 percent of the capacity of the hard disk.

  • Effectively remove and then add the piece of table 2D

I have a table that is 72 lines (32 channels, 8 channels, 32 channels). I am now taking the middle 8 channels and move it to the end, he will be 32, 32, 8. I could delete a subset of the table, and then add at the end, but I think that it would cause 2 allowances. I wonder if there's a cleaner way to achieve inplace?

Take 2 table subsets (32.8) (40,24) can do two replacements in the original array (index of 64 and 32).  I find that it is usually two times faster than delete + rebuild (to research cleaner), which is two times faster than the IPES (slower and uglier by far). Your mileage may vary.  It's all the microseconds at this size of table.

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Follow a few basic maintenance note.

1.5 the tool provided in Windows to remove unwanted temporary files is disk cleanup. To access this tool select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. You must then run Disk Defragmenter.

1.6 using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before that the error occurred initially, do not use this option.

1.7. If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

1.8. a better alternative program to disk cleanup is cCleaner. The freeware version works well for a home user and must be downloaded from Piriform program provider:
    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

1.9. When you open cCleaner you will see four large icons to the left of the window. Here's cleaner them, registry, tools, and Options. For routine maintenance, you normally acceding Cleaner (this is not the mentioned registry cleaner later). When using for the first time only, you can accept the default settings.

1.10. some observations on the parameters. On my computer, I do not have the boxes before the passwords saved selected. In a less secure environment, you could check this option and set cCleaner to run automatically when the computer starts. You also cannot check the boxes in front of shortcuts from the Start Menu, desktop shortcuts and historical form. You must check the boxes according to your needs. Bad first time options causes irritating no disasters.

1.11. the second icon that you see when you open cCleaner's registry. A reserve many experienced users have about cCleaner, it's that it comes with a registry cleaner. This tool should not be used. By using a registry cleaner, but it is the case, provides significant benefits and there is always the risk of creating insoluble system errors, which cannot be resolved by reinstalling the operating system and all that that implies. You will avoid any possible problem of not not by clicking on the Save icon.

1.12 the third icon that you see when you open cCleaner is tools. If you click this icon, it gives you access a routine plus service options. The first two tools are uninstalled and commissioning. I do not use these tools, preferring to use other software options. The third tool is the restoration of the system, which is covered in the next paragraph. The fourth tool is Wiper Drive and you will find reviews about this tool later

1.13 removing the system restore points can be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments. This makes it easier to hold the restore points for long periods without keeping large unwanted files, whose inflexible approach to disk cleanup fails to offer.

1.14. you can't remove the last restore point using the cleaning disc or cCleaner. If the last restore point contains malicious software, you can turn off and then turn on system restore. This has the disadvantage that restore all points are removed when you want to keep more restore points that are not infected. How to get round this problem is to create a new restore point when you are satisfied with your computer is free of malware and then remove the infected restore point.

1.15. in normal circumstances, you probably rarely need to use Driver wiper. However, there are situations like if you gave the computer to someone else, then the tool may be useful. Please note that the wiper Drive, opening, generates a warning message, which should not be dismissed lightly. Using wiper Drive for the wrong reason could have serious consequences.

1.16 the fourth icon is labeled Options. Many configuration options are available here. You can configure cCleaner to run when start you but remember that this will slow down the boot. Another setting allows you to include or exclude cookies. Yet another allows files named to exclude.

  • It is possible to combine hard disks to increase the space for the C: drive?

My c drive is running out of space. However there enough space in the hard disk in the other readers. Is it possible to combine one or two partitions c and increase the space available in c without formatting. I'm using vista Home premium

It is possible, if you format a partition you want to combine. If you have some data, you can move them to another place or external drive. Then I say you want to combine the D and C drive (you could do it with any other drive):

    1) go to start, then right click on computer and then click on manage

    (2) then find storage-> disk management

    (3) right click on the D drive, then click on remove

    (4) then right click on C, then click on expand

Note that in this case, as I said information on drive D will be lost. So make sure you save them. It might be a question that if you install something on drive D, you will need to reinstall it.

Drive D example right, you have picked any other player.

Please be aware that the second part of your hard drive backup is
far the lowest form of backup exists. It is only very
slightly better than no backup at all, because it let you
sensitive to the simultaneous loss of the original and the backup on many of
the most common dangers: drive failure, head goes down, severe feeding
glitches, near lightning, virus attacks, same flight of the
    computer.

In my view, secure backup must be on a unguarded and removable media
in the computer. For backup really secure (required, for example, if the)
the life of your company depends on your data), you should have several
generations of backup and at least one of these generations must be
    stored off-site.

You can read this article on the backup that I wrote: 'save '.

  • Remove the disks in the disk pool RAID on MD3220i

    Hello

We have recently added 3 new HARD drive for our MD3220i and added to the evil through MDSM disk pool. We have to remove disks from the pool to add to a separate disk group.

I have looked everywhere and have not been able to find anything on how to do it. Anyone here have experience with this, or at least know a reference that describes this process?

    Thank you!

    Hello, Tim.

In the 8.10.05.60 firmware versions and up, there is an option to "Remove the Disks (Capacity) physical". From the GUI, the tab 'Storage Services & copy', right-click on the "cluster" (in the left tree view pane), and you should see a "Remove the Disks (Capacity) physical" option which will lead you through the process.

Let me know if it works for you, or if you have any other questions. Have a great rest of the week!
