Remove the alert logs and trace files

Hello world!

I noticed that in all the databases oracle, the trace files are pious and alert log is more and more like what...

Thought of making a copy of the trace of the files somewhere and remove hard drive other than the most recent.

For the alerts log, thought to make a copy and rename the current file as well as Oracle can create a new.

Advice if there are better approaches in the treatment of this?

Thanks in advance.

or zipping what old files? is it possible to automate this process using winzip or another utility or even windows?

Appreciate if someone has a suggestion?

Thanksssssssssssssss

Well, I can tell it's not a question of ORACLE, you can get many things by Googling. ;-)
ZIP or whatever it is you need to automate scripts by creating a * .bat files. you have some third-party tools where you can plan all those.
example: -.
PKZIP-ex txtfiles.zip *.txt

    You can delete these files without any problems. Just make sure you stop the services of the application first, remove files, then start the application services.

    I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive.  Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files.  I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos.  I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive.   However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop.   I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet.   I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem.   My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo.  It would take more time than I'd like to lose.  Is there a way to get just 6 Lightroom to recognize the new disk designation has changed and is able to find all of the existing files?

    I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you!

    So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

    Then in Lightroom, you can reconnect to the photos on q: the following instructions (see specifically 4 Figure and related text)

  • Who writes the alert log file?

    Hi guys,.

    I tried to answer this question...

    What process (process backgroud) written in newspaper alert?

    Is not "one" but all background processes can / write for her.

    The archiver written for her. LogWriter can write (if you have log_checkpoints_to_alert).
    When a background process detects that another died, the former written to the alert log in before you panic the instance and kill him.

    An ALTER SYSTEM command issued by the server process for your database session will also write to the alert.log

    (Alternatively, you can call a specific procedure of data to write in it - but it is not documented).

  • Error in the Alert.log - ksvcreate: failed to create Process()

    Below the message error is repeated in the alert.log everyday:

    ksvcreate: failed to create Process()

    The trace for MMON file is updated every time that this error is reported in the alert.log. Here is the error message from the trace file:

    Impossible to program a MMON slaves to: Auto Flush main 1
    Try to create slave processes failed.
    Can occur for several reasons:
    -Any process state object
    -OS limits reached
    -A stop happening
    Check the log of alerts for details.
    KELR apply log: could not schedule MMON slave, error 3

    I checked using process of the database and use is much lower maximum. Verified on OS limits and who also is set to a high value.

  • Errors in archiving in the alerts log

    Hello

    I have an Oracle Database 9i (9.2.0.7) for which I shot on the mode of arhivelog a week ago. In this PB in the alerts log there following errors:

    Arc1: Evaluating archive log 1 thread 1 sequence 1221
    Arc1: Impossible to archive log 1-wire 1 sequence 1221
    Newspapers archived by another process
    Arc1: Evaluating archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Arc1: Impossible to archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Newspapers archived by another process

    and there is no message like "Archiving completed" because of another problem - there was a mistake in specifying the format of newspaper. The of log_archive_format is incorrectly set to 'DB001_%s_%t_%r.arc' so also there is another trace file that says that:

    SESSION ID: (9.1) 2009-03-11 08:42:00.023
    ORA-00294: format specifier invalid archivelog 'r '.

    (There are two things: 1) to change the format of journal archive
    (2) to deal with the other issue: impossible to archive log 2 thread 1 sequence 1222
    Newspapers archived by another process

    What is the process to do this? Will be grateful for the help. The database is now.

    Thank you

    I guess you took bad, this setting can be changed indeed but the effect of this would come at the next startup only one, this is a static setting.

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B10501_01/server.920/a96536/CH195.htm#REFRN10089

    If you need to do something like that,

    alter system set log_archive_format= scope=spfile;

    Do a reset and setting of parameters entered into force. No matter what dba account must be able to change this setting, but for the bounce of the db, you must have Sysdba privileges. This setting won't make your startup or a stop, they should go ahead without problem.

    Hello

    Thank you for the time, I already read something about recovery logs, but everything indicates that the redo log should be smaller and more groups, it's a small database like already post, only 5 users working in there.
    Do you think I need to increase the size of the redo log members?

    Kind regards.

    Without no doubt... but I would certainly add two members of each group and spread members around you to the disks. In its current form, with only one member of each group, if you lose a redo log, you have no redo data recovery. Problems of performance aside, your database is at risk.

    Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to log on to the built-in Administrator account.

    If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

    Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

    Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
    When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

    NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

    General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

    You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

    In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

    The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

    If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

    Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
    Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

    Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Hello

    If you could not ask about your db, you can watch in the log_archive_dest_1 parameter, which is in the init.ora file, to know where are your archived log files.

    my previous post would not be the solution to your problem, if so you can manually delete the archived logs and then delivers the command of rman below

    overlap archivelog all

  • control the size of the Essbase.log and the application log

    Understand that there are many messages have been written for the Essbase.log and the application log. Is there any method to control what message to write to the log file in order to reduce the frequency of the e/s of the partition of the server data?

    Thanks for your help!

    You can think of forcing your ASF/ASO PAG & IND/DAT files to go on a separate disk from your base volume binary Essbase. This can be difficult to do in a SAN environment, because it is difficult to know what is really where.

    Another option would be to use CLEARLOGFILE to reset the logs (this will remove the whenever you stop/restart Essbase, so make sure that you check them if you need to open a historic session).
    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/config/clearlogfile.htm

    Still another would be to SSLOGUNKNWON set to false to break down on the newspaper.
    See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/config/sslogunknown.htm

  • Check the alerts log without loggin in the server?

    Hi all

    Is there a way I can watch the last 30 to 50 lines in the alerts log without going through vi or any editor on unix system? I'm on 10203 (hp - ux). and I dba grant to me. But do have access to the Oracle login server to view the alert log... so I was wondering if there are procedures that are very practical or even watch the alert without loggin to the unix system log?
    Thank you..

    Try this

    You missed the semicolon at the end of the first CREATE command :)

    CREATE OR REPLACE  DIRECTORY TEST AS '/home/oracle/----####------/bdump';

    --Below, show destination of your alert log file

    DECLARE
       alert_file   UTL_FILE.file_type;
       line         VARCHAR2 (100);
       line1        NUMBER;
    BEGIN
       alert_file := UTL_FILE.fopen ('TEST', 'alert_log_file_name.log', 'R'); --Here, show your alert.log file name
       line1 := 1;

       FOR line1 IN 1 .. 10
       LOOP
          UTL_FILE.get_line (alert_file, line);
          DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line (line);
       END LOOP;

       UTL_FILE.fclose (alert_file);
    END;

  • How can I remove the user name and the image of Windows XP new Start Menu

    Two questions:

    1. How can I delete the user name and the image of Windows XP new start; and

    2. my computer keeps asking me to press the F1 key to start Windows.  How to skip this part?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    The image of user account can be removed by disabling the Welcome screen. Or, by opting for the classic Windows theme. Follow the method described in this article, if you want to remove the user name and the picture in the Start Menu, without disabling the Welcome screen and Windows XP theme.

    For those who want to delete the user name and the image of user account from the Start Menu, in order to have a blue white Panel at the top, try this:

    Registry warning
    Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    Step 1:

    a. start Windows Explorer and go to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account images

    b. in this folder, rename the BMP file that corresponds to your user account.

    (For example, if your user name is Robert, rename Robert.bmp to old_Robert.bmp)

    c. then rename the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\Default pictures

    to something else, for example,.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\No_Default images.

    Step 2:

    To remove the user name, follow these steps

    a. Click Start, click "RUN" and type "regedit.exe" and navigate to this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Windows Microsoft\------CurrentVersion-policies-Explorer

    b. in the right pane, the value NoUserNameInStartMenu-value data 1.

    c. close Regedit.exe and restart Windows.

    You'll find yourself with a blue area at the top of the Start Menu.

    Regarding the pressing 'F1' to start Windows, you have made no changes or was there a system crash after which the problem started?

    You may need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS to the default settings. I recommend you contact your PC vendor for this.

    Warning of the BIOS:
    BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
