  Thank you for your answer, in fact, I ve already made activities yesterday.  I delete the partition for each disc, stop the CARS and servers, disconnect drives and join these discs of other CARS and I ve already create an another Diskgroup with those discs.

  Check that the automatic run settings are correct:

  1. Click on the Start orb
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. Select auto play

  You should see the card reader that you use for the Sandisk under devices. Select the action you want to take in the drop-down list.

• Help to configure storage for vSphere 4

  Hi all

  I am designing the datstores for our new vSphere installation.  The virtual machine will be Windows servers with a default configuration of a logical drive C and D.  Some servers will have additional logical drives.  Some of the team think that it will be better to place the virtual disks for the C drive in a single VMFS volume, while placing the D virtual disk drive in another.

  Are there performance problems or advantages with this configuration, or is it better to store all of the virtual disks associated with a virtual machine in the same data store?

  If we divided the VMDK in different datstores could this affect pagaing if the pagefile is stored on the logical drive that D?

  Storage is a HP EVA 4400 with SAN disks (which is currently proposed to store the virtual disks of drive C) and a 1500 (SATA) MSA (currently proposed to store the virtual disks for drive D).

  The key in ESX 4 object that shows the disposition of all LUNS, adapters, paths... is the object of HostPlugStoreTopology .

  With the keys that you will find in there, it is relatively easy to find other properties of the lun, devices, roads...

  As far as I know, the name of Runtime, you see in the vSphere client is not available in the format displayed in each of the objects.

  But it's pretty easy to dial in a script.

  In the following example script I list ID (or canonical name) and the name of Runtime for all 'disc' lun.

• Question about the subscription renewal for vSphere lab Essentials home

  First post on the forum here.  My apologies if this isn't the right place for a question like this.

  I have a lab at home that I have set up using the "VMware vSphere 5 Kit Essentials" that I had bought on the VMware online store.  It was a pretty fun because it let me familiarize themselves with the technology that I use at work without the same consequences for the mistakes of the project.

  To be honest though, I have never much thought about support and subscriptions for it... Setup should really just have to learn and be the main server for my house projects.  The cost for me to buy the Kit of Essentials has been a little more than $500 a year ago, and it seems that my still currently active subscription (my account displays "subscription only" for the Essentials Kit) allows me to download the latest patches and maybe even upgrade to a new major version in the future.  I would like to continue the subscription, as this seems to be more profitable that leave on the subscription and then renew... compared to the initial $ 500, a one or three year renewal looks pretty good - and I'd get to continue to be on the latest versions of the vSphere Essentials.

  I thought it would be as simple as clicking on renew somewhere on my account, but that begins to not look like an option.  I think that I am driven to get in touch with a business partner for the subscription renewals (is this sounding right?).  This seems a bit much for me for a small laboratory at home like mine.  Is the only way to renew a subscription via a partner company?  If I'm completely off track here, please let me know.  If I'm here, does anyone know (or recommend) a partner company that manages small renewals as mine would be?

  Maybe I'm hesitant for nothing, but I thought I would ask those who understand the subscription and support better than me.

  To answer my own question, I discovered that for users with contracts less than $3,000... is it possible to make a renewal online without the need to go through a partner.  It turns out that the link to the online renewal page is available through the 60, 30, 15 days notice in advance of the emails that are sent to the holder of the account (which is how I found it).  The page renewal me related to this FAQ PDF that I found useful.  I was able to successfully renew my subscription from the link.

  I tried to put the machine in maintenance mode. Did not help... I have to take it apart this machine?

  What is the right way to do it?

  Both an ESX 2 can see unit number logic used by the data store that it will be displayed in the list storage ESX-2 - the only way to remove it is that you will have to hide the LUN the openfiler or ESX - 2

  The question is you manage these two hosts with Virtual Center - if so you will not be able to have existing virtual machines on two hosts at the same time - in which case you will need to migrate virtual machines from one server ESX to another - with them off a Migration cold or with them under tension - a hot Migration also called VMotion that will require a SAN or a NAS/NFS - shared storage if you are don't not to help Virtual Center, you can save virtual machines using the browser to store data but the virtual machine can only be run on an ESX Server, both-

  (1) I prefer updated closing times communicated instead of the code of the Planner. When you remove the code from Planner, you take the ability of a planner to find its elements in the workbench.
  (2) If you get the message "manual has been updated", it means in general that you have some sort of data problems. Typically, this means that you have a trailing space somewhere in the data. If you have no time to solve the problems of data, here are workarounds.
  (a) use the interface point / api to update the RTF.
  (b) use the backend sql update (especially if you're in an instance of dev).
