You will need to borrow an installation disc to a former operating system Microsoft - Windows 95, 98 or me. There is no way around it. If person don't you know is an older drive, you can borrow for a few minutes, you will need, you will need to either buy a copy full XP or take the unit to a local computer professional to do the XP installation for you. • When you try to re - install Windows XP, it does not detect the hard drive.

Hi all. I tired to do a reinstall of Windows XP today. It seems to take a lot of time, and then I did a very stupid thing. I turned off the laptop that I had to go. Now when I try to start the laptop on the cd, I get as far the screen where I have to press on enter to install Windows XP pro on the system or press R to repair. The problem is that there is now no facilities to choose from in the box below and the system is not recognizing the hard drive. I can't even as much as the screen to format the drive. When I press ENTER to install windows xp, then I get a blue screen telling me that the system shuts down to protect my pc. Is anyone able to tell me what to do to solve this problem please. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Noel

Sounds like a hard drive problem then. Your drive is maybe defective. First of all, you can use the partition of diagnostic Dell (F12) for its determination.

In case there is a SATA problem, press F2 to enter the BIOS and change the setting of hard disk SATA to legacy. (Might as well try this first.)

  • My Halo CE says that my product key is not valid after I have install and update the game.

I install my copy of Halo CE on my computer. I enter the product key and accept the key. I update my game and everything is still fine then. After that I restarted the game as required, he said that my product key is not valid. I do not understand why he said it. I know that it is valid. I used the said product key to unlock the Halo Reach for this Halo nameplate on the site Web of Bungie. I'm not sure why this is happening. In addition, this product key is not the key supplied with the disc. I lost my old drive and had to borrow one from a friend.

    Hello

    1. your friend is also using the same product key?

Try the steps listed in the link below: "your product key is not valid" error message when you start Halo: Combat Evolved: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842948

I already downloaded and installed the latest windows install but nothing helped. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply Samhrutha, I managed to create a boot disk for a program initially provided with the Dell computer. It allowed me to create a bootable disc of my BONES, and in addition, I managed to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows. So if someone is in the same boat with a Dell Dimension 8400, there is the possibility to do so if you have not already done (that a disk can be created). Just go to start, see "Dell" in all programs and hey presto.

    Thank you

  • I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 last week. I reinstalled Microsoft Office Standard 2007, but the website says that my product key is not valid.

The software was initially loaded on the computer that has been upgraded.  The upgrade would not work, so the technician needed to install the full version of Windows 7.  When I try to install Office 2007 Standard, the registration Web site says that the product key is not valid. The software can be loaded on three computers (that took place), but a computer is the computer I want to re - install the program on.

Use the phone activation option and speak to an operator.

This time, however, it restarts whenever I hit next on the regional and Language Options screen. How to spend it?

  • I got a blue screen when you try to re - install Windows 7.

All started 3 days ago. I was using just my PC regularly, then I get a BSOD. Whenever I tried to reboot, I get a BSOD after about a minute after loading screen. The BSOD was rdyboost.sys I did a system restore using the windows via memory stick installation. Things were great, that 10 minutes later, I start getting BSOD, once again and each time after that screen as before loading. I tried to reinstall windows, but I have a BSOD at 30% to each hour. My motherboard is ASRock extreme 3 gen z68 3. Is there something wrong with the motherboard in this case? It seems to be a hardware problem, now, I guess. the BSOD now varies from as "changing the code of the system or a critical data structure has been detected" to "ntfs.sys" or * STOP: #.

I took pictures of the BSOD, but there is no option to transfer to this post. I am trying to install windows 7 pro 64-bit, which was originally about it.

While a move file was download of my browser (mozilla firefox) crashed and the download did not complete putting a partial file on my system.  I tried to open file to enter into competition with my DivX software more player and thought after a short so he received the message that I needed to update the codec files to open.  I have not hurt to open these types of files before and that's when I noticed the size of the file and understood that I didn't have a complete file.  Thus, tried to delete and that's when I get the error message saying that I can't remove it because another program was using in or the file is already open in Windows Explorer.  Can not understand this one.  Stupid me, I copied it and now I have 2 files I can't remove.  Checked in Task Manager thinking I could understand and ceased from Windows Explorer who lost only what was on my desk and I had to restart and hoped by rebooting might solve the problem.  Nothing yet, that is why I am seeking help...

    Hello

Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

Method 1 : delete the file in safe mode and check if the problem is solved or not.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows 7)

Method 2 : perform the steps in the article and check if the problem is solved or not.

    Why can't I delete a file or a folder?

    Hope that helps.
