Rescure and recovery does not work

Hello

I'm unable to create a backup with RnR. I get the message: backup not completed correctly.

You run RNR 4.51.045.  You back up the C drive and the partition of the USB Service

(1) service of backup partition

13:33:22 2015... backup level = 1 destination = "D:\RRbackups\,...". SP"drive = Z: location = 8 nice = 0 pw = 0...

It works

You should have 1 base and 1 incremental backup (level 1) backup(level 0)

(2) backup drive C

13:33:40 2015... backup level = 5 = player "D:\RRbackups\" destination = C: location = 8 nice = 0 pw = 0 uuid = 0 compress encrypt

Journal of engine: 13:35:07 2015 engine: unable to perform the backup - trying to save level 5, there is no such thing as what level 4

You should have 1 basic backup (level 0) and 4 incremental backups (level 1,2,3 and 4).

Your backup index is corrupt, and/or C 4 disk disappeared.

Possible reasons for corruption:

(1) you have parm incremental max at a low setting. When incremental max is reached, an internal MERGE operation occurs. On your exit of RNR, this merger may take some time, that is to say as a basic backup.

(2) in this merger, you have cancelled the RNR backup (and fusion) or put you off of failure of the machine or power during the mail merge

You must reinstall RNR.

============

(1) uninstall the RNR.  This will remove \rrbackups on drive C.

(2) you must manually remove the \rrbackups on the drive (usb) d.  This requires a change of windows security to allow you to do.  I have this security change documented in another post.

Note: If the only files on the USB key are RNR, it's easier to reformat the entire disk.

To make standalone bootable RNR, you must use DOS commands to reformat

.. partition.. .create the value active. Otherwise autonomous RNR will not start.

It is also covered in another post

(3) download RNR 4.52.0017.  It is the latest version. (08/06/2014).

It changes the merge logic for mergers to run faster.

Old RNR: Merge 1 base + differential

New rnr: merge incremental 1and 2 differentials

Confirm max incremental parm is 16. I would have put at 32 to avoid mergers.

Change the RNR for USB backup location.  New media created on USB for the 1st backup.  This should start.

Also create new BACKUP media to cd or usb key.

Try to start the USB to confirm WHAT independent, RNR will start.
