  • How can I restore my data in sync on my laptop that I had saved before formatting my PC?

I had saved my favorites, passwords etc in Sync.re- installed Windows.Wanted back up all data synchronization. Don't know how to do

You know your account name of synchronization (the email address used when you initially define a synchronization), password and your sync key / recovery key?

You need all three to "add a device for synchronization.

If this is not the case, have you implemented on another device, so you can grab these 3 elements of synchronization?

That information is stored in two separate password manager "chrome: / /" address on laptop / desktop facilities. With mobile devices, you need an add-on to see the key of the synchronization.

If no to either, you will not be able to restore your data. And without the key to synchronize your data cannot be decrypted, this key is an encryption / algorithm specific to your account of Syn. decryption

If you have all three elements, is Firefox already installed?

You will need to set up this laptop as a 'new device', see this:

  • PX1269E - how to restore the data?

    Hello

I have a disc Px1269e toshiba external hard. When I start it up I heard a noise. But regardless of the operating system (Linux or Windows), the drive is not mounted and do not figure in the list of devices. How can I restore my data?

Is there no chance to recover my data?

    Help, please

    Hey,.

If the drive is not mounted you must mount and format before, you can use it, but it will delete everything on a HARD drive, so all data on it are lost, but I hope that you have a backup on your computer or laptop?

But you can also try a program like PC Inspector Data Recovery file recovery or something else. If you are lucky, some data can be restored.

  • Try to restore the data file, get error 'you don't have permission to save in this location"in Vista

I am new to Windows Vista, but relatively competent in older versions. I installed the software on my new desktop computer. I am the only user on this computer and I have administrative rights. I installed the software in the Program Files directory. In the software, there is a folder for the working data file. I now try to 'restore' my data on this new computer file so that I can start working. I get an error message that says "you don't have permission to save in this location. Contact an administrator. "I have considered similar questions on this site and followed the advice to take possession of the file without success. I also created a new folder on the D drive, thinking maybe Vista I just wanted to keep C clean, but it gives me the same message. I can't save to the folder I created. Any advice?

Program Files is a protected directory. If possible you create the working folder for the data in your user account instead. Is it possible in the options of the program the program in a directory of your user account? Or, if you think that any other user you may need to use this program, you could create the directory Public. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • the Encrypt contents to secure data check box is not available, how to fix?

When you encrypt a folder, if you open the properties of the folder, and then clickAdvanced, check the Encrypt contents to secure data box is not available (it appears grayed out).

    Hi Panvis,

If you want to encrypt a file or folder by using EFS (ENCRYPTING File System), but the Advanced button is not displayed on the Properties dialog box or the encrypt the contents of the box secure data is grayed out, it could be for one of the following reasons

You don't have an edition of Windows that supports the EFS. You can use EFS to encrypt files on Windows vista edition full, professional and Enterprise editions.

The drive that you want to encrypt files on is not formatted using the NTFS file system. EFS only works on computers that use the NTFS file system. If the file you want to encrypt is on a drive that uses the FAT or FAT32 file system, you must convert the drive to NTFS to display the Advanced button.

For more information, see:convert a hard disk or partition to NTFS.

This option is not available in Windows Vista Starter, family basic and Windows editions Home Premium, for more information see the link below: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-encrypted-files-and-folders

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Restore the data file

    Hello

    Initial situation and config:

    Server: Win2k3 Sp1 32 bit
    Database: 10.2.0.4 Standard noarchivelog mode
    RMAN catalog on different server.
    Cold backup

Therefore, I was invited to do a restore from a backup of database. What he needs, it's to restore the controlfile, spfile and a data from a backup file complete performed via RMAN. He does NOT INTEND to use them, they just want to see their restored from the backup.

Restore the spfile and the controlfile is not a problem, and I was able to restore them to a Test directory. But since I can't restore datafile 1 to 'C:\dest', I googled how to make these.

I came up with these, which I think who should restore a data file to a different location, but I don't know if it's okay. And since I started on the database server, I prefer to ask first.

    The value of newname to 'C:\datafiles\datafile1.dbf' to 'C:\Test\datafile1.dbf ';
restore the data file 'C:\Test\datafile1.dbf '.

Would this work? It must be run with the open database altering State and work and will not somehow it. If not, can someone help me here? The only thing needed, he did restore a data file just to get...

    Thanks for the tips!

    Add this

    RMAN > run {}
    value of newname for datafile 'C:\datafiles\datafile1.dbf' to 'C:\Test\datafile1.dbf ';
restore the data file ' C:\Test\datafile1.dbf';l
    switch datafile;
    }

It will update the control file with the new location of this data file

    Documentation:

Because Flashback Database works by undoing changes to data files that exist at the time where you run the command, it has the following limitations:

Flashback Database can only undo changes to a data file made by an Oracle database. It cannot be used to fix the failings of the media, or recover an accidental erasure of data files.

  • Restore all data files of replacement PC history

I have a x131e Lenovo Thinkpad comes with Windows 7 Home Premium and a 320 GB hard drive in August 2012.  I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro in February 2013.

When running Windows 8 I used file history to keep a backup on a QNAP TS-219 P + network drive that has a pair of 2 TB drives.  The location of network, I set \\nas\daniel\Windows 8 history of files and there now, looking in the history of the Windows 8 files folder it is a single folder, Daniel , who was my Windows username.  Here is Daniel-Think , which was the name of my PC.  There are two folders: data and Configuration.  There is about 200 GB of stuff - all my files, but the many versions and they have the timestamps in brackets after their name.
The 320 GB hard drive, failed Monday night.  I tried to run CHKDSK, but the player is physically defective, I gave up on it - nothing can be read including Linux Live boot CD and Windows disk management does not even see the drive.
I bought a new 500 hybrid SSD/HDD Seagate GB and installed Windows 8 directly (that is to say, not of Windows 7 then upgrade).  I used the same user name, Daniel (a Local account, and not a Microsoft account) and the same host PC, Daniel-Thinkname.  I have the same password, which is the password that the user of Daniel on the NAS drive, so I can immediately view the files at \\nas\daniel\Windows 8 file history
So now I have a new installation of Windows 8 blank with no data.  I have also all the historical data of the files that were created with the same PC with exactly the same user name and the host name.  I pulled up to the history of the files with the 'new' PC and has indicated that it \\nas\daniel\Windows 8 file history - no dice.
Control Panel > system and security > file history shows "file history is on ', and he said"copy the files: libraries, office, contacts and Favorites','copy files to: \\nas\daniel\Windows 8 history of file "
If I click on restore personal files I get the message ' is not the history of your files, folders or libraries. "  File history cannot save copies of the encrypted files with file system encrypted, to a network location, or on a drive that does not use the NTFS file system"

The ILO not being able to use the readers do not use NTFS is nonsense: it is a sharing network and a week ago I managed to restore a file from the history of the files using the exact part of reader network and PC even.  I don't know why he said that there is no story here.
If I go to \\nas\daniel\Windows 8 history of files I can browse the files without any problems.
If I click Select Drive I choose a USB I got plugged in (file history has ever used that) or the network path.  If I select the path to the network told me "this historical file player was already used" and in a box below shows "select an existing backup.  It shows my user name, Daniel, it displays my name of the computer, Daniel-think and it displays the last backup date 21:56 June 3: it's about 30 minutes before the hard drive of the PC is dead.  I click OK, go back to restore personal files and it tells me that there is no story again.
There is no other choice and I searched online for any suggestion - I can't find that apply.  Someone at - it ideas?

  • can application not available I restore the data from an encrypted backup?

I had to get my iPhone repaired, so I did a full backup to iTunes and reset Once it was fixed, I have restored the backup, but a few apps "could not be restored. In the case of the one that interests me, the app no longer seems to exist on the App Store - I found a link for it from a review of old, but the link is dead: the app no longer exists. Since it is an application that stores data on the heights of our children, and I had used it for a few years, I would like to be able to recover at least the RAW files of my support, even if the app no longer exists. It is not a large amount of data. The backup is encrypted, so none of the files have names that are meaningful, it is impossible to guess what file is associated with that particular application. Any suggestions?

If you have the app in the iTunes library on your computer you can restore it from there.

  • during an update lots of my profile folder has been put in a folder on the desktop marked the old data. How to restore this data file

During a bet to update, automatic update of windows has started and some how much my profile data has been removed and stored in a file on the desktop. There is a simple and easy way to restore this folder from the current firefox?

You can use the contents of the Old Firefox Data folder to "roll back" the refresh, but this involves several steps. It's probably even faster than the recovery of individual files and load those into your new profile.

Check in the folder 'Old data Firefox' update adds a folder with a random semi name on your desktop. If there is only one, that probably has your old settings and Add-ons. If there is more than one, you'll want to work with one who has been updated recently.

Once you have identified the profile folder, that you want to restore, here is my "old profile resurrection suggested procedure:

    Overview

Here are the steps described in more detail below:

    1. Create a new Firefox profile
    2. Delete all of this profile folder
    3. Copy in all of the old profile folder

Create a new profile for Firefox (Windows)

Exit Firefox completely and start up in the Profile Manager by pasting the following in the Windows search, or the Run dialog box by pressing ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

Note: any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile, give it a name like OldSettings and skip the option to change the location of the folder. Select the new profile from the dialog box, and then start Firefox.

Open the new profile folder in Windows Explorer

Firefox in the new profile should look like a new installation of the plant. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, click on the view file"" button. Firefox will launch your new profile folder in Windows Explorer.

This folder open, switch back to Firefox and get out by using either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Firefox is closed, the profile folder must be front and Center, or you can activate it by using the taskbar.

Copy old data instead of new

In this new profile folder you just popped open - NOT the one on your desktop - select all content (you can use Ctrl + a) and delete (you can press Delete on the keyboard).

Leave this window open, open or switch to your folder of old data of Firefox. Consult your old profile folder. At this level, you should see a folder named bookmarkbackups among other things.

Select all (Ctrl + a) and copy (or right-click > copy or Ctrl + c).

Switch to the empty profile folder in another window and paste (or right-click > paste or Ctrl + v). This may take a few minutes because some files are large.

    Launch Firefox

Firefox should start in this 'new' profile with the old resurrected profile data. Success?

  • How to restore old data from Firefox on Windows 8?

I just got a new pc that runs Windows 8. I had saved my old Firefox data so that I can restore my favorites and Add ons. However, once I had installed firefox on the new pc, it wouldn't show a new folder in which I could copy my old data. Refreshing, did not help because, when I re - open Firefox, it does not give me the option of using the old data. Help, please!

I actually managed to fix it myself by going to the Profile Manager and create a profile. If anyone has the same problem, happy to help.
