Restoration of lost data on an old Palm Pilot?

Restoration of lost data on an old Palm Pilot? My Palm Pilot erased when I don't keep not loaded. I backed up more data on my desktop, but I don't know how to get saved, transferred data to my Palm Pilot. How can I get the Palm Pilot back up and running?

How do backup you the data?  Palm OS devices come with disks that contain Palm Desktop.  To back up your data, you perform a HotSync operation on your computer.

To restore data, do the same thing!  If your device is really empty, Palm Desktop will recognize as such and it will ask you, "create a new account or use an existing one?  Choose existing, and choose your original account name Hotsync.

If you saved it another way, then I can't help you without details.

I got a new iPad. I have already backed up my old iPad to iTunes and wanted to put in place the new iPad to restore this backup data. The only way to restore the health data is to backup the old phone and restore it on the new phone. You must use iTunes backup with active encryption, or backup to iCloud.

You would be able to restore an old backup him later, but doing so will wipe everything that is currently on the phone. There is no way to combine.

  • Old Palm Vx, synchronization with Palm Desktop

    Hello everyone.

I try an old Palm Vx synchronization with Palm Desktop. But the Hotsync does not work as expected. After press the SYNCHRONIZATION button in the cradle the process starts with databases "Restore", then with the synchronization.

When the process is finished the Palm VX. displays a RESTART Message. After that I do this restart I can not use my Palm more. The Palm is displaying the 'settings', but I don't know why. I can not type of the any of buttons, for example the Home button and looks like the Graffiti-Pad is unresolved. I only can do, it's only a hard reset with lost all data. After that, I do a hotsync and the game begins with RESTART and displaying the "settings."

Can someone help me with this problem? What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you very much. Jens.

The problem is solved. I installed ReDigi. This little program displays the calibration screen after each reboot hot so I could re - calibrate the digitizer and the Palm works for me once again.

    Thank you very much. Jens.

  • Retrieve/recover lost data

    Hi all

My iPhone recently became the "Apple logo + white screen" mode to get out of a sudden and refused to be turned on, or restart after umpteen tent.

I took it to the Apple Store and the SA has tried to help me by making day + restore to iPhone and it turns back again.

Unfortunately, I do not backup my phone and I know that it is (almost) impossible to get them back, but I was wondering if any of you have found any possible way to retrieve/recover my lost data?

    Thank you in advance.

    See you soon!

    JK

If you didn't saved it or have the data you're trying to get synced to iCloud or another Cloud Computing service, it's gone. There is no place to recover since.

  • How can I perform a system recovery to get all lost data.

I need help in performing a full recovery of the system to recover lost files and data.

    DavysLocker,
Thanks for posting with us.  The only way to recover the lost data is if you have the backup of your system.  The system restore feature does not have the personal data.  If you use the Windows backup utility to back up your data, then you will just run the troubleshooter, and then follow the steps to restore data.
If you do not have a backup of your system, then you can check with the local PC stores on data recovery.  Also, there are available data recovery programs but I don't know how they work although I've never used one. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

    Hello

    Log in as ADMIN

Your photos and other files should still be there under C:\Users\Your user Name\

Sounds like your account became corrupted or affected by malware?

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. The ADMIN account in trunk
Mode has no default password (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

Use the Admin account hidden to lower your user account APPLY / OK then wear again to
ADMIN. This allows clear of corruption. Do the same for other accounts if necessary after the
    above message.

You can use the hidden - administrator account to make another account as an ADMINISTRATOR with your same
password (or two with the same password) use a test or difficulty to another.

You can run the command Admin account hidden from the prompt here if

  • Data transfer Palm Pilot IIIx for Blackberry 8320 blackBerry smartphones

Thanks to BBSingh for help posting this message. I would really appreciate help from the members of the forum to provide a remedy that is known to work with my Palm and Blackberry.

My problem is changing my old (December 1999 vintage) Palm IIIx data to my new Blackberry 8320. Years, I have used the Palm in conjunction with a Motorola L7089 (April 2000 vintage) and their IR ports for data transfer; Unfortunately, the phone fell in water and after drying carefully, he could make and receive calls again its screen remains empty, so no need to send SMS and most of the functions. Sales team convinced me to buy the Blackberry, but I'm starting to wonder if I've been conned, as usual with sellers once they get your money that they are not prepared to do anything else. New technology has undone me. In the long task of transfer of several thousand items manually I had recourse to the expertise of this forum.

A tip I found has been updated the Blackberry Desk Top Manager to v4.6 and it would list the Palm in its devices to transfer data from. I did, but the resulting Wizard at the point of registration of the Palm, but it wouldn't activate a greyed on the option button. DTM for Windows status options System Tray icon COM1 has been disabled. I could allow it, but as soon as this dialog box has been closed COM1 returned to the disabled state. BTW, this is a non sequitur on COM1 Hotsync of Palm transfers data to the PC via COM1 and the Palm software tools works very well also. I closed all the related applications of Palm and it made no difference. I tried DTM 4.5 with the same result. As an aside how the icon options DTM is deleted from the system tray, Windows Task Manager should be used to close the application.

Another tip say to export data from Palm in Outlook Express, then DTM would need to be OE. I enabled OE reluctantly because it is a questionable product, a favorite oxymoron is "microsoft security", has exported the Palm data in a CSV file, but when they are imported to OE it's garbage. Repeat the exercise but exported as tab delimited and got a worse result. Try to import or the other of these abortions in my Blackberry has been a waste of time.

Another tip say export data from Palm as VCF which can import BlackBerrys, but did not say how they did it. Palm tools allows only the comma or tab files in the delimited export formats.

MY PC is a Dell 4600 with 2 GB of RAM and 300 GB SATA HDD, XP Pro SP3, so that all the relevant fixes SP3 post. Windows Firewall software, the AV and malware have been temporarily disabled, and I logged in as administrator too.

    RESOLVED - 98%

A big thank you to everyone who contributed ideas. Here is the solution to most data transfer: -.

    1. install the Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5

    2. download the latest tools of Palm Desktop Manager which is 4.1.4 (I used 3.6)

    3. perform hotsync of Palm IIIx with Palm tools

    4. disconnect the Palm Pilot from PC

    5. connect the Blackberry to the PC

    6. open Blackberry DTM and check ' device (PIN): "appears

    7. Select the device switch Wizard, grant conditions and the next screen shows active button for Palm devices, click Next

8 calendar, addresses, etc. are read, previews of each appear for approval; with the exception of the calendar. Click OK to finish and get out

    9. close DTM, disconnect Blackberry

10, opening relevant applications on Blackberry to check, all transferred no problem except the grille which was empty

I can live without the old calendar entries and do not have to manually re-create handfull. So the question is settled.

  • Restore files lost on windows 8

How to restore files lost on windows 8

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You have deleted the files you want to recover?
    2. Did you recently upgraded your system to Windows 8?
    3. What exactly happened which made lose files?

If you have lost files, there are some steps that can help you recover them. Historical files regularly backup versions of your files in Documents, music, photos, videos and office files and OneDrive files available offline on your PC. Over time, you will have a complete history of your files. If the originals are lost, damaged or deleted, you can restore them. See the following article for assistance.

Restore files or folders by using the history file

If, however, you reset, refresh, or reinstall Windows, your personal files are temporarily stored in the Windows.old folder for 28 days (unless you have formatted your hard disk before install). If you decide to part or all of these files, you can usually recover from this folder. So, I suggest to refer to the following article and check if it helps.

Retrieve files from the Windows.old folder

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Transfer data from Vx for Palm TX

I have a Palm Vx with all my contact data I haven't used for years.  The data is of not saved on any computer.  Now, the only computer I have is one with Vista.  I have the PalmConnect USB kit, but it does not work with Vista.

I'm trying to find a way to get my contact data of the Vx to the TX without retyping everything.

Thanks for the great suggestion.  Turns out I was able to borrow an old computer with Windows 98, synch and get the data out of the Palm VX  Then I exported the data and then imported it to my new computer.  Now, I find that the TX does not work with Vista 64 bit!

  • lost data on my M100

I have a Palm M105.  Mysteriously, all my calendar data missing on the M105 and in my backup of Palm Desktop on my laptop.  Maybe I accidentally clicked on something and didn't.  It has left me speechless.  Is there a way to recover my data that seems lost?  I think it has gone for ever, but hope somehow it could be stored somewhere I don't know.  Any ideas?

Hello tmclp and welcome to the forums of Palm.

Unless data are available in Palm Desktop, so no, there there no way I know of to recover the lost data.  In Palm Desktop make you that you do not have a second HotSync ID (there will be a menu drop-down menu at the top right of the screen) with missind data stored in it.

And I moved this thread to the Hardware forum.
