  • How to restore user account missing when the connection after that power outage occurred?

Windows XP Media Center edition PC was carried out at the time of the power failure, which lasted about 2 hours.  When turned back on, it was missing the user account on the XP login screen.  However, after logging another user, all the files seem to be present, but the system restore will return to another point, and the same username cannot be recreated (it says it is already used).  How can the user be restored?  Thank you!

I fixed it!  I copied a solution to another user in the forum:

    1. click on the Start button.
    2. go to control panel and choose switch to Classic view (if not to this point of view).
    3. double-click on Administrative Tools.
    4. double-click on computer management.
    5. on the left, click area to expand local users and groups.

    6. click on groups.

    7 double-click on administrators.

    8. click the Add button to add the user missing to the list.

It restored the user to the logon screen.

  • How to restore or at least analyze emails from account deleted when the server no longer exists

I have emails from an email address @domain.com that are saved in my Local folder. I would like to follow the instructions to restore this account here: _ http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird: _FAQs_:_Recover_Deleted_Account

The problem is that the server that hosted email no longer exists, so I can't add it back again. Is it possible to import in Thunderbird yet, so I can always analyze them? Or someone has a suggestion on how I can access these emails in a simple way? I need to be able to search through them, as I already do in Thunderbird.

In general, in IMAP, all your messages are stored on the server and Thunderbird downloads the temporary copies in order to accelerate the search and navigation. Since there are parameters for the amount of content in the message to download, or only the headers, there is no guarantee that you will have messages in their entirety.

For future use, if you have an IMAP account that is connected and the desire to preserve the independent messages from the server, you must copy them to a place outside of the IMAP account folders connected, such as local folders.

  • Problem to simply restore the wise accounts on the new computer (a XP, now Win7)

I had XP in an old computer, with a version of simple Sage Accounting 2006.  My backups were all conducted in the Flash Drives.  I installed the wise 2006 program on a new computer with Win7 Home premium, and the program has been installed in "Program Files (X 86)".  When I try to restore my accounting backup of Flash Player made off the coast of the old XP machine, it restore in the new Win7, although it reads the disc and confirms that the information is there.

Both machines now have a downloaded update of the program simply 2006 (Rev. 4) in a separate 'data' transfer all my data files have been moved to the new machine.  Older versions of business data will open OK.

A message I get sometimes as to why it will not restore is "a required data file is missing.  Check your data folder to ensure that the file is there.  When the backup is read from the Zip drive on the new machine with Win7, it indicates: name Date modified Type size

When I click on 'next', it shows the file details that seem to be in agreement (disc 1, Total 2 files, disk 6 905 856 space

Can you suggest a solution or point me in the right direction?

May be falling on my own solution.  Trying to save on a new Flash drive file under different name, so I could just open in the new machine, received a message that file was incomplete, get out of old machine before it's through.  Always had backups showing the 2 files in the cabin.  When I left it any longer, he had a 3rd data file.  My backups were probably incomplete, throughout and I didn't.  Thanks anyway.

Yes. I can see the folder "satya".

OK, now you can try this to restore your lost files:

    1. Reboot the computer.
    2. Log in under another account admin as "satya".
    3. Open Windows Explorer.
    4. Navigate to the c:\Users folder.
    5. Right click on the folder "satya".
    6. Click "restore the previous version.
    7. Follow the prompts.

It would be a good time to review your backup strategy. A lot of people don't bother on the safeguarding of their irreplaceable files until they are suffering from a major disaster. In this way on the need to back up files regularly to a media independent learning can be extremely painful.

  • local files from a deleted account IMAP still take place, can I just delete them?

I ran a use of disk Analyzer on my c:\ drive which was full. Although not a major contributor, I've always found that an old account of work, where I am no longer employed, still has his record in C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\rd4y3dca.default\ImapMail\ and takes about 1.5 GB.

I deleted the account in Thunderbird when I left and discover that now these local files. Can - I just delete them without further ADO, or am I obliged to take certain actions of Thunderbird to avoid screwing up too?

    Thanks for your time, Niles

the reason why the imap e-mail account is still in the profile is - some people accidentally remove and then e-mail accounts must restore the account, so he is always kept as a just in case you need to restore.

If you are sure that you don't need any emails stored in imap e-mail account can access the e-mail account folder and delete the account manually.

you will need make folders and hidden files visible:

You probably always use the same profile, is that the 'account name 'mail you must remove.
    To go directly to:
    Close Thunderbird.

    C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\rd4y3dca.default\ImapMail\ mail account name

    OR through Thunderbird:
    Help > troubleshooting information
Click on the view file"" button.
a new window opens to display your content profile folder name.

Close Thunderbird now - this is important.

    Click the folder «ImapMail»
You should see all your imap e-mail accounts.
Delete the account that you don't need.

    Restart Thunderbird.

  • TB stopped to retrieve new messages and try to "reconfigure" my account to correct the problem, now, I lost my old messages.

[15/04/14 edit #3] I posted the troubleshooting information and make a backup of profiles with MozBackup, so my problem is the presence of two inboxes, both to receive messages, and my not be sure we can safely be removed nor how to remove safely.
[14/04/14 edit #2] Help of you bird taught me where my 'profiles' are stored but I found that I had no backup of their. However, I find now that I have TWO inboxes - had not noticed this before oddity. Fortunately, one of them contains again all my old posts! The Inbox that has still all my old messages is listed as a subfolder under "Local Folders" and the Inbox I thought was that my only Inbox is listed as a subfolder under the folder albums whose name is my email address. Two inboxes are now recover my new mail. Does this mean that I have somehow created two accounts? If so, how can I get rid of the account that uses the Inbox that has all my old messages inside? I don't want to get rid of the wrong account, but I suspect that the "right" should be listed under my email address, not covered by 'Local Folders'. If anyone understands this mess I created, I'd appreciate some tips so that I don't make things worse. At least, I have now learned what it is I need to back up.
    ..........................
[14/04/14 Edition #1] This is a major update of the problem I described earlier (see below). I disabled the part Mail shield of my antivirus software Avast free and discovered that TB was again able to recover my email. Then I re-enabled Avast to see if it blocked again TB. He did not. So, apparently simply light shield mail out of Avast and back again seems to have solved the problem. However, there's now the consequences of my having tried to "reset" TB which is described below, namely the loss of a very large number of emails that have been stored in my Inbox. So the problem is I would like to get help is how to recover these apparently lost emails. If they stay on my hard drive, should TB to store and what specific files I look for? I do not have a backup of some of my drive hard (but), but I need to know how to identify them, where to look and how to get back to my Inbox without deleting its current content. I would really like to also retain their original, if possible dates. I'm under 64-bit Windows 8.1. [end edit on 14-04-14]

    ................................................
TB suddenly stopped downloading my mail today. When I click Get Mail, I can see the screen very fast succession of messages; first the message "connected...". «, then «check...» ", then"download 1 of 10... ". ", and finally,"No message to download"after downloading absolutely none of them. I also noticed that my list of mailboxes not the entry of first showed my e-mail address as account name. Find that something important must have been changed in the setup of my account, I went through all the settings but didn't see any problem. Finally, I decided to try to restore my account even. Who did place my email address again back at the top of the list of mailboxes mailbox as my work account name, but he also created an even more serious problem. There is now no messages in my Inbox, I guess because I have created a new account using the same name as the old, whereas before there were thousands of messages I had saved for many years (since it is a business). Then when I click Get Mail, TB downloaded 383 messages that have not yet been removed from the server, which then gives all today (another loss since their initial dates were important). But after that he finished all the download, by clicking Get Mail still retrieves all messages past the time he stopped to recover earlier today. These new messages remain on the server - but now there are 14 of them instead of 10. The same succession of messages TB appears at the bottom of the screen, but now it says "Download 1 of 14..." but always downloads none and ends by, "no message to download. This sequence of messages will repeat as many times I want to pick up the mail but she can still count how many is NOT download. Two questions: (1) are the thousands of messages that have been stored in my Inbox always stored somewhere on my computer and is it possible to recover? (2) how can I get TB to begin to recover my current email again? I guess it's obvious that these are important issues for me and I am completely puzzled. Thanks in advance.

I managed to recreate the same question.

It's what, in my view, has occurred.

The account that puts e-mails in local folders is set up as a global Inbox account.

The account which has its own mail, mailbox is a classic e-mail account.

When you created the global account to the Inbox, you have not restarted Thunderbird before you download, so the same e-mail is downloaded in the two accounts.

E-mails currently in the global Inbox - Local folders Inbox is not deleted if you delete the account. but do not immediately.

Please look under "Tools" > "account settings".
You see two accounts with the same name using the same email address? I noticed you have account 2 and account 5 using different servers, but maybe the same e-mail address?

Select the 'server' settings account 2 and click the button "Advanced".
A small window opens, which is selected?

    • "Inbox for this account of servers.

    or

    • "Inbox for the account of different" and "records the.

    Please also check account 5.

One of these accounts will say "Inbox for the account of different" and "records the. This is the account that has emails in the Inbox folders and is configured as a Global account.

Tell me which account is configured as global Inbox.

In addition, I note that account 2 has more than one identity. You have two different email addresses that go to the same account?

    • In 'Tools' > 'Account settings' for account 2
    • Click on the button "manage identities".

If you have two email addresses, and you want both emails go into this email account, then leave it alone. Click "close".

If the two identities are the same (identical) email address, then there is no two, so you can delete the other. Select the second identity email address and click 'remove '. Then, click Close. If not sure leave it alone, but tell me what you have.

    Click OK

Tell me what you have and if you have two email addresses the same as the identity of this email account and also if you have deleted the second email address.
