restoring programs to the default settings

I need help to restore default programs

Hi Gerea,

It is far too little information to understand the problem, but it sounds like something familiar, so I'll take stabbed in what, in my view, that you mean:

Go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll down to EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations.  Once done, do the same for LNK entry.  That should restore your programs.  If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.

If this is not the case, or is not the problem, please specify the problem.  The following can help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375.

Good luck!

  • I restored Firefox to its default settings, but the slowness, crashing and nonresponse are not resolved

    Hello colleagues-Firefox users.

I followed the Commission indicated in the Support article on the slow, crash, etc. by restoring Firefox to its default settings. But the problems go away. The remains of the slow browser and still gives me error messages on a non-compliant script or plugin and crashes. To make matters worse I don't see the menu on the top tool bar items, I was so used to using, such as file, editing, display, etc.. I very often used the display menu to zoom on texts that are too small for me to read. Now I can not do. I tried to drag icons in the menu on the upper right of the page on the top tool bar above the address bar, but it is not the same thing as what I used to use before, and there is no File, Edit, View, tools in the menu icons. So now I see my g-mail Inbox in tiny little characters. I tried to use the Magnifier suggested in the troubleshooting of support page, but it's too heavy so I gave up.

Would someone kindly please help me with these questions? Thank you much in advance.

    Kind regards
    Tom Graciano (globmart)

If the zoom is your problem so just try to use the keyboard.
Hold down the control (Ctrl) key + "+" to zoom in any window.
Otherwise if the crash occurs suddenly so just try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox with the update. You brought a lot of changes manually, it might create problem. So reinstall once and check whether it is at your service.

  • Restore the default settings doesn't work is not because of the sweetpack.

Somehow, a toolbar called sweetpack was installed on firefox. I tried to remove the addon via the windows uninstaller, but it still appears in the addon of firefox even handler after restarting windows. the addon is blocked on firefox, but there is no way to turn it off. Then, I tried to restore the default settings, but firefox get toward the top of the box to "restore the data from the old" who comes chugged away in an infinite loop.

  • NH-1005 ver 2.2 hub allows you to restore the default settings

OK, I have a worm hub 2.2 NH 1005 that I used a little more than six months, and I need your advice on restoring the default settings.

the web-based configuration page can be accessed through 192.168.2.1 on IE, but my step son was trying to fix the nat definition for its xbox 360 (not so hard to do...) and changed the settings under remote management to turn off. now, it is not possible to connect to access based on the Internet web page.

is there another way? Is there a restore defaults button in the web page, but no button or other basis on the hub itself. any advice, other than to get rid of it and replace?

So in this case you should check the settings of your DSL modem. Like most of the DSL modem has a built-in DHCP server. Then maybe you lose connectivity to your modem DSL itself.

As your HUB is a dumm device and it dosent have any parameters, or you can reset your HUB. Only, you can make a normal feeding cycle and which will not solve the problem.

    Hello

I suggest you to upgrade in Place on Windows 7 and check.

How to perform an upgrade on the spot on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2

Important note: I would like to explain that the upgrade in place is a tool to repair the system. Thanks to the special upgrade process, we will be able to repair the system. The upgrade in place will not affect the settings like photos, movies, documents, etc. that are saved on the computer.  However, it is recommended that you first back up your important information and files of other partitions or other disks.

  • Installation FP11, said associated program needs, use the default settings

When I cliquerai on COMPLETE installation FP11 on IE, it says No associated program go to the default settings and the program associated with FP. But Flash Player does not appear in the default settings page. I'm about to give up the installation of PS 11. (Windows 7 64-bit). Can anyone help?

If you read that he posts above, you will see that, from the beginning, I said that I downloaded FP11. I downloaded it from behind the link provided, which was for the standalone player, the same as my first upload. So I said that I downloaded the player. I told him repeatedly that I could not find any file to attach. That was the problem. Your assumption that I had downloaded a file with a .flv extensiton was because you did not read what I wrote.

I appreciate that you tried to help him. Thank you. I close the question.

  • Uninstallation of MySQL or reset the default settings (advanced question)

I am trying to install an application that is based on the MySQL server. I've been installing other programs and for security reasons, I changed the password for the server parameter access to MySQL. It worked well for other applications I installed but prevents me from installing the application provided by the ReadyNAS, it seems, they rely on the default settings to install correctly. After some reflection, I just decided to stay with the application provided through Netgear, but I need to reset everything in MySQL. I tried to uninstall the program, but the removal process leaves the databases behind, which means when I reinstall MySQL, he concludes that even stored setting user as before. I need to know if anyone knows how to do a clean install of MySQL or can help me identify all the extra files I need to delete through SSH to complete uninstallation by OS6?

  • How can I change the locations of Windows Update to the default settings of Windows?

Windows backup does not complete successfully, and I get the message "the system cannot find the specified file (0 x 80070002). Windows error procedures have not found the answer.  Solving the problems of files MS Fixit found that where Windows Update stores data has changed and that it should be repaired by changing places of WU to the default settings of Windows.  Please can someone explain how to do this?

    Hi Derek,.

Thanks to join Microsoft Community where you will find all necessary information about the Windows operating systems.

You cannot perform backup and get error the system cannot find the specified file (0 x 80070002).

The problem may occur if there is some disk errors hard or due to the interruption by third-party programs.

    What fixit have you tried?

To check if the problem is due to hard drive errors or due to the interruption by third-party programs, I suggest you follow the steps:

After each step, if the problem persists, go to the other.

Method 1: Check the hard disk for errors

    See the site:

Check your hard drive for errors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note:  When checking a disk for errors, if bad sectors si des secteurs defectueux sont are found then the system tries to repair sector. All data may be lost. So make a backup of the data.

    Method 2: Clean boot

When the computer starts to boot, programs non-Microsoft will not be started and would avoid any interruption of their share.

    See the mentioned site:

How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 3 of section to set your computer to normal startup.

Note: If in case, you are connected via a connection wireless, and then when you start the System Configuration utility to perform the clean boot, click Startup and Services tab one time and check wireless see corresponding section are checked (enabled).

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, or if you have problems of Windows in the future, let us know and we would be happy to help you.

  • Change the default settings for registration and opening.

When I'm in a file and choose "Save as", I need to find the location.  But then the very next file I do the same thing and I looking for it all over again.  Is there a way to backup a specific folder or default directory at any time.  Currently, it is by default in my office in most cases.  The same thing happens when I search for a file, open it and then go to open another file in the same folder.  This seems to be a huge waste of time and was not like that in previous versions.  Thank you for any input!

He has no control in Vista to make the changes you want to make for Vista itself.  David has provided default values for Windows 2000 and Windows XP, but not for Vista.  I can't find them for Vista- but they are what you feel and are entered into the system without installation available control to modify the default values (and I couldn't even find a way to do it with a registry hack).  Unfortunately, he must live with what you have.

In most other cases program, it is controlled by the program itself (and varies according to the program0.  Some of these programs have commands to adjust the default settings (again, this depends on the program).  You will have to search for the documentation of the program or visit their web site (or call them for technical assistance) for more information on each program.

  • How to reset to the default settings for Windows Media Player

I ran the troubleshooting and now need to reset the Player multimedia default settings how to do this?

You can reset WMP the default settings in the Control Panel, programs, troubleshooting, WMP settings [WMP reset to default values]

If that did not solve the problem you're trying to fix then perform these two steps [they are the closest thing possible to uninstall then reinstall WMP & will actually provide a new installation of WMP]

1 unload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn on or off has Windows, multimedia features, clear box Windows Media Player, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

2 reload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

  • Can someone tell me the default settings for the internal speakers (Realtek HD Audio Manager) on HP G62 454TU laptop pls?

I had problems with IE11 and Outlook, both kept gel (not answer) more and more each day.  Outlook is still difficult sign in, I have to sign at least two times and once I got to sign on 7 times.  The drafting of emails, I'd get msg "cannot connect to Outlook - try again later. IE11 is also unstable permanently "unresponsive" my sound stopped working also and I found that he lacked Realtek HD Audio Manager.  It took nearly a week trying to figure out how to reinstall.  (I am 60 years old and not informed techno) Finally, I downloaded and installed (with no help from HP) but speakers still does not.  I approached then Microsoft Help Desk who suggested that reset IE11.  I did it yesterday and now all seems ok with IE11 and Outlook but I have still no sound.   Where to find the default settings for programs that use audio ie itunes, youtube, etc?

I have only a couple of theories left to isolate the problem, but have no idea how to go on this issue.

    1. I received a msg when I lit the notebook from HP saying storage battery was low and the battery can be replaced.  I've never used this notebook on sector so I ignored msg but with freezes and random low cut that I removed the battery which seems to solve that problem, but I wonder if firm random downs could have damaged files, software or anything.

    2. Windows updates put things here that seem to be more for Windows 8 for example. Touch screen program.   Can we update caused problems for the sound on my laptop?

I have run virus/malware programs with no threat found.  I also installed Glary to find and fix registry problems, but still no sound.
