Restoring the State of the CPU

Hi all

I have a virtual machine here that has a few important files on however when I try to start it again I get:

«An error occurred in restoring the State of the CPU of the file "D:\Virtual Machines\VMware\Windows XP Professional\Windows XP Professional - ccd33a20.vmss".»

A mistake due to the operation of recovery to fail. Preserve the suspended state and fix the error or throw the suspended state. »

I want to get all the information out of this area to a new installation, but I can't get in

What you can do is to remove the . VMS file in the folder of the virtual machine. It's like hard reset a system (i.e. pulling the power plug). Remember to save the file to the virtual machine before doing this, to be able to restore the current state, in case you should.

  • restore the system to the original state

    I am running windows xp proffesional 2002 and you want to restore the factory state how to do this

    Some computer manufacturers, including Dell and HP, have a recovery partition on the hard drive of the new computers. By pressing a special key combination when the computer starts, you can use the recovery partition to restore the computer to the way it was when it was new.

    If this is not available, you can restore the system from a restore CD provided by your computer manufacturer.

  • Suspended-> Snapshot-> change the CPU-> restore-> error?

    Hi all

    ESXi 4.0. Windows 2003 64-bit.

    A user has done this:

    1 suspend a virtual machine

    2 take a snapshot

    3. Add the 1 to 3 vCPU

    4. the virtual machine works ok. But somehow the user wants to restore it back.

    5. then, to restore the snapshot to the previous state and received the error:

    The features supported by the processor in this machine are distinguished by the features supported by the processors of the computer on which the checkpoint was saved. Try to take the snapshot on a computer where processors have the same characteristics.

    As far as I know, this error occurs only if move us the VM incompatible host, but we did move any virtual machine.

    Is there something we can do to correct the problem?

    Thank you.

    You must add/change vCPU for an engine off the coast of the VM, not a suspension.

    Or have the permit for adding (and, of course, an operating system).

  • DV7-7230us mother of HP Envy and replacement of the CPU card

    Unfortunately the notebooks has dropped and the screen broke. The machine was at the time. Also the CPU/GPU or motherboard was fried after the fall. As a result, I bought a new screen, the motherboard and the processor. The only thing different from the original installation is the processor. I upgraded to an AMD A8 to the A10. The service manual is the upgrade. My question is, when I start to restore the existing hard drive, 750g Seagate hybrid, with the original system restore dvd discs that will work? I read that these discs only recognize original equipment. Luckily I have the original hard disk with the original operating system factory and the software installed on it. This drive was almost never used so it is still in its original state. Does anyone know if I need to clone a hybrid disc, or it will allow me to reinstall the factory operating system and software? I cloned the hybrid when I first installed and did not bother trying the restore disks. Any power coming back here? Thank you.

    Hi Al,.

    I saw your post about your recovery questions. I saw mixed results during the use of recovery with hybrid disks and solid state disks. You are right, you need the original material then I would try the clone you have created everything first and see how it goes.

  • Process creates the CPU to overheat and the Fans to run like crazy:

    I am ripping DVDs on different Macbook cradle fully aware that it's requiring treatment.

    The 2011 with 16 GB of ram and hard disk SSD, the process runs on 330% of the processor, blasting the ability and heat

    revolves around 100 c/213 F.

    Interesting enough the same process on 2 late Mo Pro 2008 with less ram do not overheat in the extraction process. The program are identical on all the Pros of 3 MB. The processes are the same, but on the old MBpros the processor load is between 130-150% up to more heating is not that great a problem.

    But the MBPro of 2011 with top material tearing overheating of the processor and fans running at full speed.

    I noticed that too much work with other programs or is running only a few programs at the same time seem to heat from the processor and the fans make some noise + cpu run hot with my MBpro 2011 and El Capitan.

    It is possible to restrict a program that use a large part of the resources to avoid overheating?

    Other solutions?

    Well a Late 2008 Macbook Pro has a intel core 2 duo, so the max he could run is 200% (2 CPUs time 100%) if the application can do enough on 2 processors in parallel.

    Your 2011 Macbook Pro has very probably a 4 core CPU intel i7 with hyper-threading. If an application can use hyper-fils, there is a potential of 800% max. The 330% could just be that the DVD cannot keep up with the CPU, so it does not hit its maximum potential because of the famine of data.

    I don't know if the speed of the DVD drive in 2008 was the same as the 2011. If the 2011 is able to read data more quickly than the 2008, then it can provide given the CPU faster, keep the much busier CPU so it can consume more power, and more power consumption more than the heat generated.

    MacBook pro 2011 ends a DVD in less time than the 2008?

    Basically, you are trying to compare 'Granny Smith' vs 'Golden Delicious' apples and expects the same taste.

    Regarding the other programs, put this SSD in your Macbook Pro means that any code or data that the application needs to get the disc are convinced order or magnitude faster, so that the application did not slow the CPU and keep crank, causing the CPU to keep them busy and thus attract more power, which is converted into heat causing fans to run.

    It is also possible that your SSD generates more heat. Solid State does not always mean longer running costs. Much would depend on the brand and the model of the SSD and it is the power profile, and it draws more power for writing vs readings, and how much nature more expensive power you're done.

    Information point. I put an SSD in my 2009 27 "iMac and it works more hot because my iMac can do more in less time. I put an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2011 and if I ask him to do a lot of work, like backups, it starts its fans, as the SSD is always quick to provide data for backup, there is no waiting for the discs, leaving the lower idle CPU.

  • Cannot restore the iPod

    I read the discussion for corrupt iPod Classic and tried all of the listed suggestions.

    The iPod is not recognized by iTunes (latest version for my MacBook) and does not appear in the Finder.

    When you run the diagnostic tests, he said the "cannot open device" and underneath that says "ERROR!" «Stop diag»

    It does not appear in the disk utility so I can't try to repair the disk.

    I tried restoring the DFU on the MacBook. When I did this and open iTunes, it appear a message about restoring the iPod and has continued to prepare for the iPod but nothing ever happened. I left that he connected for at least 20 minutes.

    I also tried to plug it into our Windows laptop and it was acknowledged in the Manager of devices like Apple's USB device, but not in iTunes.

    Any other suggestions?

    See iPod displays an icon 'X' Red - Apple Support. Apple may not have much interest in the classic iPod service. The line was removed some time ago. I would normally say that you look at corrupt iPod Classic, but if the error message indicates that the drive will not mount so you will not be able to read the stats.

  • Does not restore the values of form for the restoration of the tab

    Part of my Web site uses a large number of forms on a single page. On the page, you can filter items (each item has its own form) and modify them. One entry looks like this: [name] [select status] [other Select]. Other important things are that the document has an expiration date in 1981 (to apply a page always up to date) and that change the value in the select results in the triggering of an AJAX function.

    It works perfectly, except for one thing. When filtering State id 1, you get back a little of the element. Let's say that the result of the filter are input 5. Change entry #2 status, which triggered an AJAX function. It works very well, but here's the problem: when close the tab and re-opening with Restore tab, select values become disheveled.

    Due to the execution of a fresh copy of the page, the browser will get a new copy of the page. Entry #2 is now gone (I'll keep calling it that, even if she disappeared because of the filter). Now, here's the problem: Firefox is attempting to restore the value to select it. Entry of the status #3 now has the same status of entry #2, #4 a #3 status and so on.

    I managed to solve this problem on other browsers (Chrome, IE) with this little piece of jQuery:
    {$(document) .ready (function ()}
    {$("form[class^='startingformname']").each (function ()}
    This.Reset ();
    })
    });
    It works perfectly, except for Firefox, which seems to ignore the call to reset...

    As this text is quite long, I'll keep my short question: How do you keep Firefox restore the values of the form (preferably: keep them on the selected item in the HTML)? Now, the user always gets a new copy of the page, and Firefox is trying to restore the old values on this page, even though the HTML code has changed.

    I think your two choices is:

    (1) prevent Firefox from page caching, or

    (2) use a different event to trigger your reset function

    As I understand it, the function $(document) .ready jQuery () raises the event DOMContentLoaded (or equivalent, if not supported by the browser). If the tab is cached in its ' cache fast back-forward ", Firefox can not fire this event when the user returns to the tab, just like Firefox does not always raise the load event in such cases.

    Discover the event more described in the following article and see if you can use it to trigger your reset function in Firefox: https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Using_Firefox_1.5_caching

  • How to restore the bookmarks after an emergency backup who left only the bare remnants files of Mozilla?

    Stats: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system. Currently using Firefox 22.0.

    Details: Before that, I had an outdated version of Firefox are installed which I do not know which one it was. It may be 2-3 versions before version 22.0. I had a few hundred Favorites on Firefox when my computer became suddenly blue screen and I quickly restored it using emergency backup software that is built with the computer. It basically restored the computer while safeguarding * MOST * files from the previous installation.

    Fast forward, I went to see if I could pick my favorites, but only left value files were in the APPDATA roaming and APPDATA local files. This is the profile folders, but there is virtually nothing in it that can be opened or used. As records skeletons without meat. There are thumbnails of Web sites previous that I visited on the last installation, and that has been about it.

    I tried to see if I could copy the old empty profiles folder in an attempt to use the Profile Manager and paste it into the new installation of Firefox, but I couldn't open the Profile Manager.

    I read the articles that have been recommended by the website so feel free to submit your questions and assistance. Anything help! I have re-learned a useful lesson, always save your bookmarks!

    How can I return my favorites?

    Oh not at all, it's my fault for not not being prepared. It's a good lesson to learn to always save files especially with huge storage of our days. Back in the old days, they would use the floppy drives that were considered the height of storage technology!

    No, I have never had an account to sync with Firefox but will have to keep in mind for future cases of lost bookmarks. However, what was lost is found again! One way or another!
