• "Internal server" installation for the results of the Quiz on Go Daddy

  Not even sure if this is possible, so I turn to all of you smart people...

  Over the past day, I have been looking and trying to get this to work.  I have a Web site hosted on Go Daddy and would be delighted to welcome my productions their and the results of the quiz.  Of course, the productions work very well, but I can't seem to get the results of the quiz is displayed in the monitor.  I tried to put the PHP file in a few different places without success.  I'm pretty sure that PHP is enabled by default on Go Daddy but I must confess that I can barely spell PHP.  :-)

  #1-Oui, working to find a Go Daddy site.  No modifications are required on your Go Daddy site configuration.

  #2-my problem was that I had just downloaded the "internalserverreporting.php" to the root of my site.  I left the 'internalserverread.php '.

  #3-ensure that when you configure the "internal server location" in the Quiz results Analyzer that you point to the file 'internalserverread.php.

  You will need to create the buttons that you want the slide D & D and format them to look like buttons on the other Quiz slides. Then hide them by deselecting "Visible output" in the properties panel.

  For these D & D slides, you will need a conditional action advanced or shared to be triggered on enter. The action will check the value of the system variable cpInReviewMode, which is a Boolean with the value of 1 by Captivate when you're in playback mode. If its value is in fact = 1 show you the hidden buttons. If you group these buttons, you will need only a single command:

• Creating conditional actions based on the results of the quiz

  I have a quiz at the end of my captivate file and I try to get to show different based on images if you have passed the quiz, or if you failed. For example if you pass, I want to show an image of the tick, and if you do not have an image of the cross, on the results slide.

  I tried to create this by implementing a conditional action. I put the two images on the slide and they hid. Then I have a conditional action value:

  When I play the quiz or image shows that I have success or failure (the quiz is set to a 70% pass - there are 10 questions, and all are worth 10 points)

  Each action must be triggered by 'something', which is an event. You must attach to an event, I suspect that the event on enter score slide is one that suits. Select the slide of score, look in the properties panel, tab Actions, perform actions on enter, choose the action.

  In addition, there is a difference between the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored and cpInfoPercentage. Personally, I would use the simpler cpQuizInfoPassFail:

• Capture the results of the Quiz to the SQL database

  We build our own custom around Captivate solution. We would like to be able to capture generated by Captivate quiz scores. Where are sent the results? What should we do to get the results sent? I tried to fill in the PENS with our test URL section, but no data came in. Any ideas?

  OK guys! Here is my (very easy) solution:

  All I wanted to do is get the quiz results in my ASP.net (.aspx) page using the POST method.

  I produced a quiz and in the parameters stated that results must be sent by e-mail. Then I edited the file .htm with following changes to the sendMail() function:

  Instead of:
  document.emailForm.action = "mailto:" + gstrEmailTo + '? subject = "+ gstrEmailSubject;

  Change to:
  document.emailForm.action = ' http://YourURL/YourPage.aspx';

  Just after this line, insert the following code:
  document.emailForm.method = 'post';

  Get rid of the 'enctype' attribute in the

• Follow-up of the results of the quiz

  Hey everybody,

  Complete newbie to Captivate, just downloaded the demo today, as my work looking at branching out in e-learning. So far I found it quite easy to grasp and I see a lot of possibilities with him for us.

  My question is, Captivate is able to monitor the results of the questionnaire, once it has gone live? Can I monitor the performance of individuals via the unique logon ID or I'll be able to see a comprehensive statistics on the performance of quiz?

  Captivate is used for the creation or another platform is needed to track these results?

  You are right that Captivate is just a tool, not a LMS System.  And a few LMS include limited capabilities of creation.  But this means that the content is bolted into the LMS and cannot be purchased or used elsewhere.

  The most LMS capabilities are providing links to display the PPTs, PDFs, or documents, with the additional installation of a few quiz questions simple construction. They can't compare with the kind of interactive content Captivate can create, and they may not be advanced screen capture as Captivate.

  Captivate specializes in the side creation of courses and LMS are really specialized in the delivery and monitoring of content.  Most people in the corporate or academic world found that they all end up both need.

• Branching based on the results of the quiz

  In this quiz once users get their final score on the results page I need them to be branched to one of the three pages based on this score.  If there was an option of pass/fail this quiz, I could use that in the quiz preferences and make sure that work for my situation, however I have 3 levels of recommendations based on their scores.

  In this quiz, if the quiz results between 11 / 0 correct they need to be directed to page X, if they got 12-15 correct they need to be directed to the page, and if they got 16 correct they need to be realized until the page Z.

  If there a widget or something that can help with this or can I write a widget to help with this?  Any ideas would be great.

  I just create an example, always check the solutions. I have a quiz with a total score of 20 (you can also use percentages, but because you mentioned the points, I'll keep an absolute score), only default in this Quiz Question slides. I forgot to ask about this: hope, you have no other marked objects? In this case, the cpQuizInfoPointsscored system variable has the same value as the score indicated on the score slide and can be used in conditional action. Because it is not possible to trigger the action at the end of this slide to score, I inserted a short blade, labeled "Dummy" after the landslide of the partition, and trigger the action advanced to enter (or exit) this slide. The user will never see this slide if use you the entry.

  The action advanced, labeled Branching 3 decisions, mutually exclusive, one for the top, the middle and the low score. In this example, I scored the slides to create a branch with the same label that decisions: slides high, medium and low. In the screenshots you see 3 decisions, I never used the ELSE part, given that decisions are mutually exclusive. Try it!   PS, You need to provide something for users who have a rating lower than 12 so, I forgot to mention that, can be a 4th decision, better not to use the part of HERE.   I have a SWF mp3s to load an external file. The number of mp3s can vary from time to time. Is there a way to determine how many mp3 files in the external folder there... without the use of a data such as .xml file?

  You application on internet?  If so, Flash can not query the server for that information, so you'd need another file to manage this information them anyway... If it is an xml file, then a PHP (or similar) file can get this information and it echo to Flash in the form of data.

  Hi Martin,

  These are run time messages and you can replace it by following this procedure:

  If you want to change specific labels that you cannot change through Captivate, you can do this with the strings.txtfile, which is located in the folder of instalation Adobe Captivate > en_US

  1 open the file

  2. change any label you want

  3. record.

  4 rename in strings.zdct

  5. replace the original strings.zdct file

  6. restart Captivate

  I suggest you original strings.zdct and strings.txt backup - just in case files.

• Transform a slide with interaction of objects (hide/show) as a result of the quiz?

  I have a slide with some interactions.  The user will click Yes/No and will reveal an object.  This turns into a quiz - or at least be the subject of a follow-up?

  Each interactive object can have a fixed score (see reports accordion). All marked objects will be visible in the Panel Advanced Interaction (F9) and the total score as well. I think that you will have to implement advanced certain actions to be sure to have the correct score. I've been blogging a lot about custom questions.

• Retrieving old messages from a previous results of the machine in missing files

  Search in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local dossiers\
