Some versions of Windows Photo Gallery have a right
option that provides a slider to rotate the photo. Sorry... I don't
have a list of versions that have the option.

  • Rotate the photo?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone of you could help me. I currently have a form where the user can upload photos to the database and see the photos they have already saved in the database. Well, everything seems to work, but some photos are taken of landscape and the possibility to rotate the photo would be a great addition to the form (so the pictures are shown the correct way upward in the form). I was wondering if someone would have any idea of how I might implement a feature photo rotation, or at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks for any help I receive.

There may be special settings. You should ask these questions in the forum of the database.

  • Cannot rotate the Photos! Help, please

I can't turn my photos.   I have most of my photos on external hard drives.  When I try to turn them (per click, open in paint or open them in Windows Photo Viewer) Windows 7 don't rotate.  Instead, I get an error message indicating that "you can not turn this image. The file may be used or open in another program, or the file or the folder may be read-only. "I tried to give my complete access to the user account on the external drive, and I also tried to score the file, the folder and the only readable drive.  He's going through and looks like it is something, but in the end, I always get the error message.  I can turn them if they are on the C: drive, but my C: drive is too small to hold my collection of photos...  Help!

    8. in the area 'Permissions for the users', click the checkbox to allow full control.
    9. click on ok.

I used for years Windows Photo Viewer to display and rotate the photos uploaded to my computer.  Recently, I noticed that if I turn and switch to another image (just like I always did), one that I shot saved says he then went to the folder.  When I get on my computer, it appears that it is in the correct file, but when I go in the file, it isn't here.  Also, if I try to save back to the file from another source, it asks if I want to replace the existing file.  Help please!

  • Windows photo photos automatically rotate Gallery

I opened the Windows Photo Gallery for the first time today and to my surprise, I saw all my photos in the program!

The problem is that none of them have been rotated. I see in the options I can automatically rotates images during the import, but all these images are already in the photo gallery.

How do I automatically rotate all those images now?

    CTC

    Hi ctctc,.

You can use this feature when you connect the camera to the computer to transfer pictures to the computer.

If your camera can detect whether you take pictures vertically or horizontally (usually using a sensor that can tell how the camera is oriented), your computer can automatically rotate images in JPEG format to orient it correctly when they are imported. If you use this option, you will not have to manually rotate pictures that appear sideways on your computer, and it does not affect the quality of the image of your photos.

To turn on the automatic image rotation

    1. open the Windows Photo Gallery by clicking Start , allprograms, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
    2. click on the menu file and then click on Options.
    3. click on the import tab.
    4. check the rotate pictures on the box import and then click OK.

For more information please visit the link below
Windows Photo Gallery: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Photo-Gallery-frequently-asked-questions
However, you can also rotate the photos that are already available in the windows photo gallery by opening each picture and by turning manually.

    1. open the Windows Photo Gallery by clicking Start , allprograms, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
    2. click on the image you want to Rotate.
    3. click on one of the rotation buttons to rotate the image 90 degrees to the right or to the left.

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows Photo Gallery would allow me to rotate photos and others not.

Generally speaking, it seems that photos that cannot not be rotated (the rotation option becomes disabled on the screen) are all set (either transferred to the computer at the same time etc.). I can turn other pictures to a different folder. What is the cause and how can I rotate my photos on the program?

    Program: Windows Photo Gallery
Problem: You can turn certain collections of photos; can turn others
Attempted fixes: scan sfc so that some files are corrupted and cannot be fixed.

    Hi ichinose,.

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers Forum.

To better understand the question, what is the file format of the image you are trying to turn, just to make sure that it is not the case with a specific file format?

Try these steps if you transfer pictures to the computer the next time
    1. in the Windows Photo Gallery, click on the file menu, and then click Options.
    2. click on the import tab.
    3. check the rotate pictures on import , and then click OK. This would automatically rotate images when transferred to computer.

    Hope this information is useful.
