• InDesign CS5.5 takes too long to process the document text

  I use ID CS5.5 Win 7. I placed a text document in my document. The document contains 126 pages (no text just art). Whenever I have set a tab, the font change, everything about the text ID wedge for a min. I worked on this document for about 6 hours and I make no progress.   I have Acrobat Pro DC and often use the editing functions.  It is currently set so that if I click on the button to edit and Acrobat reads the document as having some scanned pages, it will automatically start trying to recognize the text.  Some of my files are very large, and this blocks the program, when I don't even want to do a little Recon.  How do I turn off this automatic feature, so it would recognize only if I ask him in?

  At this point, you can't turn it off. From what I've seen, they are aware that it works well in many workflows and are in a reassessment.

  I saw this same error appear around the web, but none that relate to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (2015) and MS Word 2010. Has anyone encountered this same flaw/message when you try to convert/export a pdf file to MS Word 2010?

  After clicking OK several times (through the above message), the export moves in any case, is there a way to maybe get rid of the messages coming, just to make the conversion to operate?

  As an accompaniment, this isn't a problem with the help of MS Word 2013 with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (2015), but I would like to know if anyone has found a fix work for this export/conversion to Word 2010 (I may be among the masses here with this, but just in case where anyone knows of a fix for this).

  You must go into Advanced - processing of Document - Document JavaScripts...

  Then create a new script, clear the contents of the window that opens (the

  Function declaration) and paste this line of code instead.

  Save the file and that's it.

  Hi, can someone help - is it possible to set up an indesign script to be triggered to perform an action, for example when you export to PDF (instead of manually running the script)? To explain, I have a script that creates a text box to display the size of the indesign document, but if the size of the page change the text box does not update unless you manually run the script again. so I was wondering if it was possible to put the script to run when the document is exported to PDF, so in theory be PDFd with the size of the pages always display up-to-date!

  I approach this issue perspective, as altogether new to the am scripts.

• Identify the elements of the document, mark it as XML?

  Currently working on a project Web-to-print with InDesign CS5 server and JavaScript.

  I want to do is to allow following to happen:

  • A user downloads a document .indd (OK with that!).
  • A JS script traverses the document and identifies all the elements of the document (text boxes, images, etc.).
  • The user is then asked to select which elements of the document they would like to mark as "editable".
  • The items that the user has selected as editable are marked in the .indd as XML elements.
  • The .indb is saved and closed.

  I am relatively new to InDesign scripting, and I hope that this is not something so unusual that I'm trying to achieve! Does anyone have advice/ideas on how this could be done?

  Well, Yes, I think (I have not memorized... XML syntax) but... is not usually what you would mark your XML elements.

  I mean, generally you can do something like:

  ...
  

  If you wanted the counts. But you would not create new tags for each object:

  ...rect2 data
  ...text data...
  

  It will definitely hurt to parse your XML code with standard tools. Use an attribute instead. Or why even make them unique like that? I'm not sure t The Way of XML?

  Creating text in legacy is really easy.

  Create a new publication

  Go to layer > new > text.

  Write what you want.

  You can animate text by using transformation options, or you can apply the animation presets that are really cool.

  Hi @buddiecat , welcome to the forums!

  Personally, I would say a pilot error or a problem with the program you are printing from, as the cause of printing problems you encounter.

  I suggest that you run the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. Send me the results.

  Also, try printing from another program and let me know if print jobs will print correctly also.

• Y at - he opened a Java command/script that runs all calculations in a PDF document on the document?

  Long story short, design a timesheet for my company using Adobe Pro. The form has fields that use java script to calculate different values. For example when someone enters the week, finishing, it fills the rest of the form with the correct days. This is a simple script which is located in "custom calculation. It works fine on PC and iOS devices (when you use a PDF reader application) but not when calculating on Android devices. When opened on a PC then the dates have not been calculated. This seems to be a problem with the Android device and the way it handles the script embedded in the page. For the test I used Adobes PDF reader program so in theory, these functions must be activated. However, I find very little information on why this would happen. For me that a simple work-around would be to set the properties of the document just run all calculations on the open page. So when opened on a PC by our payroll service dates will fill up. If you are curious of the code that I use I have attached below.

  Looking for an elegant way to deal with Run-in position and the following text.

  Currently, HR 11 corresponds to the heading style run-in and then puts the text on the next line. Because the tape FM, heads of run-in with the following style create a look of two columns, this does not quite.

  Thoughts, I had understand how to take the contents of the running head and precede it in the next paragraph? Otherwise, how do something so simple that to change (in HR) the indent of the paragraph following the trail head... How is that done?

  I solved this.

  First of all, my FM source has had a problem with some empty paragraphs, sometimes hiding at the end of paragraph runin. So I replaced these (search for \p\p).

  Then I edited the file > Project Settings > FrameMaker Document > paragraph and changed the withdrawal and the spacing for the two styles involved.

An approach may be to remove 'links, Actions and Javascripts' tool 'Remove' hidden information - BUT it removes links TO the WHOLE OF the DOCUMENT - "how to remove the links, ONLY the hidden parts of the document"

  Hidden text is the collection of glyphs in the PDF page using the text rendering mode 3 (no terms, no fill).

  The links set up in connection with this hidden text are not 'hidden' (this isn't how it works with annotations PDF link - see ISO 32000-1: 2008).

  Any link annotation placed in a PDF file are the same as any other annotation link (with the exception, of course, of whatever Action the link happens to).

  Thus, no special sauce for the links that were placed in conjunction with now deleted "no hidden text.

  In the context of what you wrote, maybe it's you select - Ctrl + click the link annotations of interest and press the delete key.
