  Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

  • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

  Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

  If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  I think it started right after the installation of Firefox 23.0.1, before which a search in the address bar would always search Google.

  Basically enter a string in the address bar will do the same thing as the search bar. If the search bar is defined on Wikipedia, in the address bar search Wikipedia. If the search bar is set on Youtube, it will search Youtube and so on.

• Safari 9.0.3 duplicates url address.  Cannot enter text in the address bar. With the help of Yosemite 10.10.5.

  Suddenly this morning I could not type into the address bar of Safari 9.0.3, and then noticed that the url has been duplicated.  If I click on the sidebar to get a new Web page, the address bar then includes two urls, those past and present.  Restarted Safari - no change.  Not disabled-extensions (AdBlock, ClicktoFlash and DuckDuckGo) - no change.  Restarted the MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid 2010) Yosemite 10.10.5 - no change running.  Firefox is running normally.

• Hello, is it possible to make Firefox copy non-Latin URLS in the address bar in full instead of encoded in percentage?

  When I copy a url in the address bar in the clipborad and paste it elsewhere, it is truncated. This is particularly annoying when trying to someone send a link to a non-English wikipedia article (or other sites with the "descriptive" URLS.) is there a way to disable this option?

  To avoid that you can place a character like a '-' to the far left of the address bar and select the URL without leading the hyphen.

• Safari closes when you click on the url bar

  Here's my problem: when I click on the URL bar (where the url for websites (or name) is written for ex right now: Apple Inc. is written in green.)  Safari closes and gives an error message and asks me if I want to send an error message I did to Apple. I can open Safari again, and if I click on the url bar, it closes, and continues to go.   There is a particular question, that I just noticed. Since upgrading to FF v4.0 RC1, it seems every time I click on a link in a Web page or in a google search (even open a bookmark link), when the new page opens, the url of the new page does not appear in the address bar. Instead, the url of the previous page still shows in the address bar.

  My address bar does not work properly in safari, I can't click on it and enter the address manually, which is quite annoying. I deleted the plist of safari in the library but still no luck. Found a temporary solution to http://osxdaily.com/2016/01/05/fix-safari-freezing-address-bar-use/ that is to disable the functions of smart search which solved my problem, but is there a way that can solve the problem without disabling these features? I use a MBPR 2012 with El Capitan and never had this problem before.

  In the past, I usually kept my search bar on IMDb, since I use that a lot, but I do Google search even more often, so I just type Google search terms into the address bar and hit < Enter >, which has always worked well. It was like having two bars at once, research which was totally awesome. However, having just "updated" Firefox about an hour ago, it now appears that selection of search from the address bar is now linked to the selection of the search bar.
