  Hi all!

  long in vain looking for the original BIOS for my satellite A210-1AO PSAELE-03Q00FRU (Vista32bit preinstalled).

  Unfortunately I've updated and laptop lost the ability to disable.
  VERY noisy DWD - ROM (TS-L632H) through the BIOS (but it worked without a doubt with the original BIOS)
  It is also impossible to turn it off through the Device Manager (tried several times).

  I looked for BIOS anywhere where I could (Yes, I tried to download & support from Toshiba for Europe, USA, Canada, China, Russia - no. satellite A210 PSAELE BIOS in lists, even for the A200 PSAELE).

  Written in support of the Russia of Toshiba - no result. the point is that I don't know bios original version for my model, so I tried BIOS version 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.3 - no result.
  The latest idea is to physically remove the DVD-ROM, but it is the solution.

  So where can I find that BIOS? or you recoomend a truly customer friendly toshiba can support office?

  Can someone tell me please how to get the driver for SM Bus controller? I upgraded my software from XP Home to XP Professional. Then I used the tools and utilities cdrom to install the drivers but the controller Bus SM driver seem to be missing or I probably donot know how to reinstall. Help, please. Thank you.

• Driver for SM bus controller is not install

  My hard drive of laptop DV6 - 6173cl failed.  I replaced the (1 terabyte) hard drive with an older and smaller (120 GB) I still have an old HP laptop hard drive and reloaded Windows 7 (64 bit) OS.  Still have a lot of disk space.

  Other devices - SM Bus controller driver is not loaded and does not load when "update driver software" is requested. I tried to 'turn off' and restarted the system – still no driver.

  I read something on identify the chipset and get the driver from the manufacturer-, but the instructions indicated to me the 'display' (Intel HD Graphics r) chipset, and comes under the graphics card in the Device Manager, as well as graphics Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M card.  Both have working drivers.

  I'm NOT a person tech in every sense of the word - I understand little or nothing of the workings and the interactions of these different elements.

  I looked online inside the laptop for the drivers for SM Bus controller.

  I can't find any help with everything I read, like say more just go and "update your driver.

  Can someone help me?

  I have a strange problem with LCD on my Satellite A210-1AO. Sometimes LCD does not work. The problem is only at startup, only not on closing LCD display or sleep mode. If I connect an external monitor - there is a picture, but with strange random points and lines. But if I remove the battery and the power adapter and leave the laptop for hours - after all can work very well (for days or weeks, even at startup). And then the problem reappears.

  Where could be the problem? Card video or LCD or something else?

  Have you noticed a higher temperature while this happens?
  I mean that the higher temperature could affect the GPU (graphics chip) that cause this lines and points
  It wouldn't be unusual.

  Updating the graphics driver, what would you say?

  I have the yellow warning against the Sm Bus controller triangle in Device Manager when I try to update the driver it is not found can help you. I did a search on the forum for SM bus controller nothing helps.

  Several XP drivers are not available for this A210 PSAELE series.
  But don t give up buddy

  Some other A210 models were equipped with the same features and so XP drivers went out to other laptops can operate on your A210.

  Sorry, but it is not easy to give advice when the drivers of Windows XP Home for Satellite A210 aren't available yet.

  If the modem is not that important to leave you it until the drivers will be available. Who cares about modem? Can you live without it?
