Satellite A300-1PH - why I have to enter a password in the BIOS?

Hi all, how were u.

It's been 2 months since I bought the laptop Satellite A300-1PH. yesterday, the first time I tried to see my system BIOS by pressing F2, but it took entry in the BIOS password but I never put the password that I am very first open.

Can someone tell me what is the exact problem?

Hello!

Like Akuma said maybe the store you bought has defined a password
Or it's a laptop second hand the owner then has set a password and I forgot to remove it

However, a BIOS password can be removed from an authorized service provider. I'm sure they can help you.

    Hello

This is normal behavior after the clean install of OS and many people have noticed the same on the different laptop models. The solution is very simply you need to optimize the operating system preinstalled.

You want to extend the battery work in order to use the laptop longer with the battery power?

Well, in order to extend the battery work, you should check the Vista power settings.

  • Satellite A300-17N - t - it have port series and how to get there?

    Hello

To help my studies in microcontrollers, I need serial port, but I did not on the Panel of my laptop. I know that some laptop models have one on their motherboards, but is not on the Panel. If satellite A300-17N is one of them I enjoy any help and instructions how to get manually.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Satellite A300-17N doesn t have serial port and AFAIK no Satellite A300 was equipped with this port.

But I saw a few online shops, they listed an Express card that offers the serial port (RS232). I found one on Amazon:
    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/STARTech-com-16C950-ExpressCard-serial-adapter/DP/B000PE6G04/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&QID=1300736594&SR=8-8

I think it would be easier and less expensive way for serial port. :)

    Any suggestions?

Also slightly off topic, the laptop contains buttons to control media player, is there anyway I can change to control iTunes?

    Ian

Have you tried to do an update of Toshiba Assist? A new version and all the other stuff from Toshiba which you can find here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com
Maybe the update will solve the problem.

On command buttons, I think you need to configure iTunes as standard Media Player and select all the files to iTunes playlist.

Why I have Photo and Photos open at the same time?

When what's going on?  When you connect a camera or a card reader?

Or after the Mac is restarted?

If this occurs after startup, check system preferences > users and groups.

Select your account and open the connection. Deselect the applications you want to open at startup.

If this happens when you connect a camera, open the iPhoto preferences > general.

Set the preference "Connecting camera opens" to "no application".

My problem with these media keys near the keys ON / OFF, it is that they always start Windows Media Player.
And because I rarely use this program I would set up, so that it would start Winamp.

    Hello

    I think that's not possible.
On my Toshiba laptop control buttons are preconfigured and the settings cannot be changed.

I presume that it of the case even on your laptop.

What OS came preinstalled on your A300?

If you are using Windows XP, then you can view the tool called; Toshiba controls
It s in the control panel.

Here you can configure the buttons; CD/DVD and lighting On / OFF

It is a part of the screen saver settings.

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop, then click on 'Properties'-> Screensaver (tab)
Then change the number in the 'Wait' box to set the idle time before the screen saver starts.
