  I own Satellite A300 - 1 9 (PSAJ4E).

  I don't use iTunes and cannot comment on the functionality of the buttons with iTunes but I know it's Toshiba don't offer notebooks with pre-installed iTunes and these buttons are, by default, designed to work with Windows Media Player.

  You can use these buttons with other players, if possible, but Toshiba does not support the features with any other third party application. For example, I use these buttons with Winamp and everything works perfectly.

  I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

  Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site ([http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT]).
  BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32 contained in this file: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080404121735.zip]

  After the installation of the operating system, I installed "Value package" ([http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-20080109135106.zip]) that contains the "utility Flash Cards". In my understanding, the installation of the "value added package" should allow the use of Fn keys.
  This doesn't seem to be true or not true.

  Here's what's happening.

  -Prior to installation of the 'value-added' package, all Fn keys did not work.
  -After installation of the "value added package", if the process of TCrdMain.exe is running, all Fn keys do not work.
  -If I remove the startup TCrdMain.exe and I restart the PC, only a few keys Fn function (Fn + ESC, Fn + F1).

  There is no way (or I have not found a way) for all keys Fn works.

  Someone knows how to fix this?

  I am not sure, but it may be because of the SP1. I installed Vista Ultimate on A200 and stuff all listed (drivers, tools and utilities) from Toshiba support page.

  Contains your Vista DVD facilities SP1 or you install on your own? If you install Vista Ultimate Edition (without SP1) and all the stuff on the Toshiba support site order Instructions of facilities.

  Recently, I installed Windows7 ultimate 32 bit for my pc, but the function FN key does not work. I installed the VAD latest version 1.4 (for windows 7) as also the utility of the memory flash card (for vista than windows 7 does not have) as suggested in other threads, but the button still refuses to cooperate with me. The flash memory card are current running ok but only with the mouse. to all my startup programs are running ok and I also try Msconfig restart the map flash several times.

  What other driver must try?

  Once my configuration is complete (hopefully soon) what can I do I have recovery disk, I don't have to spend all those torture?

  In my opinion, you've tried everything to make it work. What happens if you try to install Vap for Vista (not for win 7, as you have it installed)?

  The point is that the product key from the underside of the laptop can t be used with another drive in Windows. It s just for the preinstalled OEM version and doesn t work with other versions.

  Normally you n t have to enter a product key if you are using the Toshiba recovery disc because it contains a picture of the factory settings and is different from a disc of Microsoft Vista.

  Anyway, as said Akuma you can order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly.
  The another model of laptop recovery disk will not work because the hardware is different.

  These keys work that other applications are not supported with WMP or the WinDVD.
  In case, I recommend to check the settings in the properties of controls on Toshiba under control panel. If all settings are correct, you can try to reinstall the controls of Toshiba Utilities.

  I updated the BIOS via ACPI BIOS Flash version 2.20 to the latest version of the BIOS, installed all the drivers from Toshiba Support page material and installed the Toshiba value added package (PVAT) for Windows 7/Vista (64) v1.2.27_64 and nothing.

  If I remember well a lot of people here have noticed the same thing. Here in Europe, Toshiba has solved this problem with BIOS update for Windows XP Home edition. Then visit Toshiba support and download page and check if WXP BIOS update is available.

  If your laptop is supported WXP this BIOS update should be available.

  The buttons are controlled by VAP (value added package).
  Uninstall this VAP system. Then download the most recent PPV available on the page of the Toshiba driver and install this package once more.
  Reboot the system and test.
