  AFAIK, the chipset drivers are responsible for the usb, esata functions but you already reinstalled it. Have you tried to remove the chipset drivers in Device Manager and reinstall again? If still does not solve your problem, it may be the operating system itself. Using the preinstalled operating system or Windows disk?

  Before you try to install a new display driver, you must remove any old version in Add/Remove programs. Then, restart the laptop and use CCleaner to clean the system. Restart again and then install the new version.

  You have the same problem with the factory settings? In the worst case, you must reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.

  Finally, I stumbled upon you are the indications you mention in step 1 above and finally managed to remove the MP drivers with the Remove programs in windows 8.  When this was removed successfully, I followed on by deleting all associated programs.  It removed all the Archives of the printer on my PC.

  I then reinstalled from the original disc and everything works fine now.

  You must install it in the Device Manager.

  It would be useful to know if the recovery discs are damaged or if there is something wrong with the hardware for portable computers.
