Satellite A80 Series Media & Zoom buttons do not work

I wonder about these buttons... Media & Zoom. They work very well with the preinstalled operating system. I installed XP pro on another partition and everthing works fine expect these buttons. I downloaded all the drivers. Maybe I'm missing something. Atheros wireless LAN, the utility was on page drivers, but drivers were missing. I moved this from the pre-installed operating system partition. I wonder about the control panel. I installed it, but other silly messages seen the media on my own tab. Is - this control panel the "Toshiba Assist"? Any ideas, or maybe the exact dirver name so I can reinstall it. Zoming utility is there but does not work on the second partition of the OS.

Thanks for your help.

Hello

I put t know how you installed your OS but it is very important to install Toshiba stuff in the right order. On the site, you will find an installation instructions exactly. Please take a look.
In addition, you will have to install controls to use the media buttons. I also found an Atheros lan driver. The zoom utility includes a driver and software. You need these 2 parts.
You should really take a look on this page:

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL-wireless button do not work running 8.1 Win

    Hello

my wireless button does not work. I have windows installed 8.1,
I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.

    Any suggestion?

As much as I know the Satellite C660 can't win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.
I think you can use Win 8.1 but be aware that there is no guarantee that you can use all the features of the special specifications.

    > I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.
I doubt that this is correct since VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

However, try to install the driver of Toshiba and Toshiba function Key Utility system to win 8.1
You can download this software that has been released for other series like Sat C870 for example.

I put t know what the problem is, but it's not a prob of Windows.
It doesn t work either in Bios.

    Thank you for the help

    Hello

It looks like a hardware problem.
If the warranty is valid, you can contact the ASP in your country for a verification of the material.

If the warranty is not valid, you can first check if the keyboard cable is properly connected to the motherboard.
If it s properly connected then a keyboard failure is possible and it would be wise to check if a replacement would help solve this problem.

Compatible parts can be ordered also from the ASP in your country.

  • Satellite P750-136 - left mouse button does not work

I don't understand what the problem is. My left mouse button does not work. If I put a little pressure on the Panel located under the button space then the left button of the mouse works.

What should I do? It feels like a hardware problem, since I bought the laptop in November my laptop is still covered by the warranty.

What you can do is to check the touchpad settings and make sure that everything is OK.
I'm don't know if you noticed this since day 1, but if you think it is hardware problem I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider as soon as possible. Warranty will cover all repair costs.

  • Satellite M70 - media buttons do not work

    Hi all

I have been using the Satellite M70 for 2 years now. My OS is XP SP2. The laptop comes with preinstalled express media player. And I still have the Express Media Player recovery CD.

For the reasons that I just formatted the C drive. This is not the first time that I did. But the last time after reformatting drive C Media buttons are still working fine. This time beside the reformatting, I have updated BIOS (from site Web from Toshiba) to version 1.50.

Now media buttons do not work. And not more than (browser and CD/DVD buttons) shortcut keys. I tried to reinstall the express media player by booting from the recovery CD and reinstall chose. But the problem persists.

Are there ways to get the media buttons still work?

    Help would be very appreciated.

P/S: in case it is because of the update of the BIOS, is there way I can flash back to its original version?

    Hello

I have the Satellite M70-159 with BIOS V 1.3. I'll try to update BIOS to version 1.5 to see if the same happen on my M70 laptop. I did not Express Media Player, but I will test it with running Windows XP Home edition.

So. Windows XP Home edition, I can use all the keys with Windows media player. Browser and all media buttons work well. With WinDVD too much work.

I don't really know why this does not work on your M70. Maybe you should remove all the stuff your laptop and do a clean install EMC and operating system itself.

The volume buttons do not work, and sometimes the computer crashes to their contact. Once I touch the-, he begins to turn volume down until it reaches zero, and even if I turn it up using windows, back to zero (as if the button is still depressed). The + does not work.

Help, please. Is it possible to re-install the drivers?
The only solution I found is to disable them using HWSetup...

Great news. Thanks for the comments!

    some details on my laptop:

    Toshiba Satellite U920T-B919.
    Windows 8.1 updated 64-bit.

    Thank you

Since you mentioned different problems with your laptop, I think that in this case its recommended to get the laptop back to factory settings just to check if all these problems are related to the problem of system.

Regarding the webcam: Windows 8/8.1 already contains the webcam drivers and therefore additional webcam driver installation isn t possible. Extra webcam driver is not simply.

From my point of few smells of any description as a bit of a problem of material, the upper part of the slide where the touch screen is part of.
The key win as well that the two cams are located and there are probably some lose the connection between the two parties (touchscreen and keyboard)

Anyway, as I said more top, its recommended to recover the laptop to factory settings just to make sure that the system isn t the troublemaker.
In case of hardware problems, you must get in touch service available in your country.
