Satellite C50-A-1JV boot not ODD (CD or DVD)

Hello

I just bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1JV that has no operating system. I tried to install windows XP, but I get the following error: no boot device - please reboot the system. I turn on the laptop, put the Windows XP CD inside and then restart then I press F12, I have WEIRD boot--> HARD drive order in the menu then restart then press f12 then click on strange but it does not start.

How can I fix it?

Windows XP is the old operating system and not supported for this machine. Even Windows 7 is not supported for all machines produced in the last 12 months.
To be honest, there is no sense trying to install Windows XP Home edition on your new machine.

Please visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check the supported operating systems. If possible I recommend to install Win7 64bt.

  • Installation of Windows 8 on Satellite C50-A-1JV does not work

    Hello

I just bought this laptop a few days ago and I've been waiting to install Windows 8 on it. It did not work as whenever I tried to boot from CD, it says that there is no boot device and reboot the system.

After an internet search, some said the startup should be disabled, but it still doesn't work. Most of them stated that the start mode should be replaced with UEFI to CSM, but there is no option in my bios. I'm not very familiar with bios and other updates, so I don't know how to upgrade.

The laptop has no OS installed when I bought, so there should be a way to install it. Can someone explain to me how to change the boot mode or update my bios if I don't have any OS installed on, to actually install Windows 8?

First of all, you must know the parameters mentioned (secure boot and CSM/UEFI mode) must be changed if you want to install the system supported UEFI not (Win 7 and higher).
Win 8 and 8.1 Win are UEFI capable systems, and you must use the UEFI mode option.

I m wondering how you did you try to boot from the optical disk drive?
Have you changed the boot order in the BIOS?
How about by pressing F12 by turning on the laptop?
Usually, you should see the bootable devices. Here, you choose the STRANGE as a boot device.

By the way: you use the original disc to win 8 of Microsoft or you copied this disc?
Sometimes it of possible that the disc isn't readable by optical disc drive.

  • Satellite C50 won't boot to the top

    Hello

My son satellite C50 won't boot to the top. It is connected to the power grid and will arrive at the password screen but as soon as you type goes into shutdown. Any suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance.

You write about Windows or BIOS password?

In any case, on this virtual path, it is not easy to give an exact explanation what can be wrong there.
Your son of many important data stored on this machine? If this isn't the case, you should try to reinstall the OS and test it with the factory settings.

What you can try is to enter the BIOS settings and leave the machine 5 minutes to see if cell phone will go OFF. If this isn't the case, set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.

Is the cooling fan may be strong at the start of the machine?

  • Can I go through Satellite C50 - B - 17 H with ODD?

    Hello!

I just bought a C50 - B - 17 H last two weeks ago and found it too late that it doesn't have an installed optical disk drive since I only saw in a catalog and never thought that it will not since it is a laptop 15.6 ". ..

Is question, possible to install a this unit's optical disc drive? There is this space as a room provission for optical disc or drive something I thought at first was the drive itself, but when I tried to take what was in fact an empty Board. ..

If it is, any idea what car model is compatible with this unit?

Please do help. .. Thank you!

Autour Googling, I found info that some machines C50 - B have 9.5 MM 8 X DVD Supermulti ODD.
I also checked the Toshiba download page and it has classified 15 different hardware platforms for this model of laptop so I guess that the models with and without ODD is not the same mainboard and these updates is probably not possible.

Have you talked with your local dealer about this? Maybe you can send your machine back and order another.

At least, you can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help.

  • Satellite C50 - Has - TV HDMI not recognized

    Hi all

I just bought the Toshiba Satellite C50-A-U19 (pscg6e) with 64-bit windows 8 3 days ago. Connecting HDMI to my TV worked for 2 days, but right now the phone does not display TV as a device.

I tried several starting sequences and tried to "find new hardware" in the Device Manager. I changed the HDMI ports on the TV. However, there is no sign that the TV is recognized. I tried using +.

but because no additional monitor is found, nothing happens.

I changed the HDMI cable and tested the cable (and the TV HDMI port) with a playstation.

I downloaded and installed the latest drivers to display on the toshiba site. I tried to use the Device Manager to see if updates are available, windows tells me that I already have the latest drivers.

I used the "System Restore" feature to restore the configuration of a day, but to no avail. I spent about 3 hours trying to solve this problem, and I'm so frustrated right now.

I am absolutely no idea of what else I can do at this point to get the HDMI to post a link to the top with my TV. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please please please help me!

At first, I have to write something that has nothing to do with the problem described: Please create a preinstalled use recovery media creator Toshiba recovery media. It is very important to do with the new laptop.

As I see you have almost tried everything but as the last step I recommend to install the OS using this recovery media created. After that make this laptop will be new factory settings. It will be interesting to know if everything works again when the laptop has settings from factory again.

  • Satellite A30-514: BIOS is not recognizing the CD/DVD or HARD drive

Hi I'm having a little trouble with my Toshiba Satellite A30 friends. The hard drive died recently, and the cd tray was damaged.
I found an exact replacement unit and we have a new hard drive, but the Bios is not recognizing the hard drive or Cd/DVD unit.

I installed Windows Me via my own laptop and boot from the hard drive of the computer's hard disk, but it still does not recognize the DVD even if Windows does, and it is fully operational.

This prevents me to install windows XP, the operating system it is. If anyone can help, I'd be much obliged, too, I flashed the bios with V1.80.

It is the first time I heard about this issue. The Bios doesn't recognize the drive but Windows is possible use it t.
Why suggest that peut t BIOS recognizes the drive? Is it not possible to boot from the drive?
Check if the IDE controller is enabled and the Boot section. The CD/DVD drive should be selected and activated.
