Satellite C650-15U: this HARD drive is compatible

Hello

My HARD drive died apparently (although being only 6 months old and never received no shock).

What I want to know now is what drive should I buy to replace, in order to avoid buying a non compatible drive.

Hello

You need SATA 2.5 HARD disk.
Size is no matter because the SATA controller is not limited to a specific size

  • This HARD drive is compatible with Satellite L30?

I managed to break (don't ask how) my hard drive on my laptop Satellite L30.
He will have to find another.

Could someone help me find where I need?

    Bravo guys

    Hi Matt

Have you tried to search this forum for more information?
There are many discussions on models of different laptops and I sure that you might find interesting and useful discussions on the HDD for L30 m.

For example, I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=88214

The guy said that a 120 GB 2.5 SATA HDD was possible.
I think you could use a bigger HDD as only 120 GB, you can try a 160 GB if you want.

    Cheers mate

  • Satellite L30 - 115 - what HARD drive is compatible?

I want to ask is a compatible HDD for my laptop (Satellite L30-115). The interface is ATA-7/ATA133 and it looks like this: http://images.trustedreviews.com/images/article/inline/5889-wd3201.jpg

I don't know if it is compatible with SATA interfaces, but it looks like SATA. Also in wikipedia ATA-7 is shown as PATA, who works with SATA I or something like that. If it works with SATA I, can I use SATA II or even SATA III and it is necessary to use jumpers to make work as SATA I
Can you please send links with compatible models of HARD drive that works for my laptop?

There are second hand hard drives that are ATA - 7 but I preffer new drive HARD if it is possible. SATA II or SATA III will be better for me because they are cheaper.

    Thank you.

    Hey,.

The interface on the photo you have posted is SATA interface, so you need a HARD drive with SATA interface. It makes no difference if you buy a model with SATA 1 or SATA 2 interface because the connector is the same and all SATA 2 downgrade compatible SATA 1 readers.

There is also no limit capacity on SATA models, you can buy a HDD 500 GB, 640 GB or more disk space. You can take a model with a new SATA 2 interface, it works on SATA 1 interface too. :)

Can you enter check and if Device Manager card WLAN is in the list?

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop Satellite L35 was equipped of different SATA drives.
I'm 100% sure that it supports a 80 GB and 100 GB of HARD drive
I think you have a good chance that the L35 would support a 120 GB SATA HDD too.

My HARD drive is somehow broken :( What hard drives are compatible for a Satellite L300-1AP so that I can something eBay?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Satellite L300 supports SATA HDD!
SATA controller having no physical limit, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA. So, for example, a 500 GB 2.5 SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive should be compatible.

    Welcome them

  • Reinstallation of Win7 on Satellite C650-15U

    Hello everyone,
I have a Satellite C650-15U with preinstalled Windows 64-bit Home Premium.
Unfortunately, the HARD drive crashed a few days ago. I had the time to save my documents
and the most important files on a SD extern but I don't have a copy of the HDDRecovery.
    Windows is no longer accessible.
In addition, I have the laptop for 4 years, the license key sticker is now unreadable...

So I intend to buy a new HARD drive, but how can I reinstall everything?
Apparently I can order a DVD of online backup for 35,90 EUR, but does that include the W7 license?
What is the equivalent of the HARD drive recovery which has been installed on the D: partition?
This means that I will not need the key because it is on the same laptop and will be ordered with the serial number?

    Thanks for your help!

When you order the original installation disc of recovery, you will get an original copy of the created for your model of laptop recovery image.
With other words, you will get the same OS version active that you got with your laptop.

After installing the OS (recovery disk) your laptop will have once again the factory and recovery image parameters copy on the D partition.

Believe me that it is the best and easiest for you.

You can order the original installation disc of recovery on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite A60 - question of HARD drive replacement

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A60. The HARD drive died recently and I'm looking to replace it. I want to know what disk drive specification, the Toshiba Satellite A60 can support. It originally had a MK3025GAS
    HDD2196B ZE01 S 30 GB 2.5 "drive.

    1. I would like to replace it with a larger capacity drive. What is the capacity (GB) and speed the A60 can bear?

    2. do I need to replace it with a toshiba drive or can I use any other 2.5 "drive (Seagate, Fujitsu, etc...)?

    Hello

As far as I know the old Satellite A60 supports one IDE controller.
This means that you must use a 2.5 IDE (ATA) HARD drive.
As far as I know the older IDE controller are limited to 128 GB with 28-bit LBA (address logic bit).
Then maybe you should start with a 120 GB HDD, which must be compatible, even if the controller would be limited to 128 GB.

But standard ATA-6 (also called TONGA-100) does support 48 bit LBA in this case, it is not limited to 128 GB. You can check controller HARD drive using tools such as SANDRA or Everest Home Edition freeware soft for the information on the controller built in the A60.

    > 2. Do I need to replace it with a toshiba drive or can I use any other disk 2.5 "
You can use any HARD drive that meets the requirements (IDE, 2.5)

  • Satellite A200 - question format HARD drive after replacing

    Hello

I know this is probably a stupid question to ask as I am not that great with computers.
I have problems with my hard drive from my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop.

Now, when I took it out it was a 120 GB so I bought another Seagate 320 GB hard drive to replace it.
Now can I just put it back in or do I have to format the known brand hard drive.

So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated

    Thank you

    Hello

New HARD drive should be recognized by the laptop properly.
If you purchased a HARD drive 2.5 SATA, so I put t see serious reasons why this HARD drive is not working.

Once the HARD drive has been replaced, boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. The HARD drive must be formatted during the installation procedure
    That article should work

  • You can install satellite M100-164 - what hard drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite M100-164... This is a version of Middle East the M100, almost identical to the European version, as far as I can tell.
    (short only model no psma0e)

I want to install a new hard drive. The specification says he uses a 5400 RPM Serial - ATA hard disk.

I can use any hard disk of this type, or are there other things to monitor (for example depth of drive, the pin configuration?)

for example can I use this drive:
"Toshiba MK2555GSX 250 GB 2.5 SATA HARD drive internal
    [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-MK2555GSX-250GB-2-5-Inch-Internal/dp/B002752SLU]

... or I should he play safe and use one that explicitly says its for the M100, for example this one on Ebay:
    "250 GB hard drive Toshiba Satellite L35-L45 M100, M105"
    [http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/250Gb-Hard-Drive-Toshiba-Satellite-L35-L45-M100-M105_W0QQitemZ190276248831QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Co mputing_HardDrives_RL]

    Thank you

    Hello!

On the SATA drives, there is no capacity limit and you have on each HARD disk the same pinout. This means that you can use each SATA HDD you want and also SATA2 hard drives because they downgrade compaitible then standard SATA1.

However, you can buy the cheaper version on Amazon. This HARD drive should work as well in Notepad.

    I hope I could help a bit.

    Good bye

  • The mac USB external hard drive is compatible?

is mac drive external hard usb compatible, if yes, how can I reformat it to make it work.

    Hello

Well, you can use the disk external HARD on MAC, but MAC OS can read the NTFS, format etc.
If you want to read and write on this HARD drive you must format format HFS or HFS + MAC compatible.
But on this path you will erase all the files.

In this case I recommend you copy all the files from the disk on Mac. Then format the HARD drive external and finally backup Mac files on the external HARD disk

  • Satellite A210-ICO - what HARD drive I can use?

I'm getting bad sectors on the hard drive of my laptop, so I guess I should pay for a new one – but who are able to A210-1CO?

    TA, M

    Hello

Satellite A210 uses SATA hard drives and you need a new HARD drive with SATA interface. You can buy each HARD drive you want, for example 160 or 320 GB. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

In addition, most SATA HDDs have already SATA2 interface but its compatible downgrade to SATA1.
I would have preferred a HARD disk at 5400 RPM. Of course, you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, but they produced more heat and noise. For most of the applications are pretty 5400 RPM.

I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A500 - 138 (PSAM3E) - HARD drive upgrade

    Hello guys.

I decided to upgrade the HARD drive in my Toshiba A500-138 1 - years, (PSAM3E). Now, I have 400 GB HARD drive and would like to have 1 TB - Toshiba MK1059GSM to be precise. The only thing that prevents me to order it now, is that this HARD drive is 12.5 mm high, while my old 400 GB is 9.5 mm (that you can consider as standard).

Don't you think it would fit in the A500 chasis? Perhaps someone did a similar upgrade in the past?

One last thing - Toshiba A500 will be same recognize the HARD drive? I think that 1 - year, laptop should not have a problem with it, but I could be wrong.

Any help and suggestions would be very appreciated :)

    Kind regards.

I had the same situation on my old Satellite A300 and I can say that you can use the two HDD. It doesn t matter what the hard top. You can use both of them.

I assume that you are the first one here on this forum with these updates and it will be nice to hear your personal experience, but I think that the new HARD drive should be recognized correctly on this new model of laptop.
