Satellite L500-13V - his stutters and sometimes portable lock

His stutters all the other songs when playing music, stuttering sometimes results in the laptop locked up and stuck on the nasal sound. Only way to turn off is to remove the battery. Vista 64-bit installed. Nothing installed other that what came with the laptop.

Must be a driver issue, but no update.
Any ideas before returning for refund?

Hello!

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and there I found a update the sound card driver. This driver is already installed?
In addition, the Web of Toshiba site shows me updating BIOS for Satellite L500. You should try this update, maybe it works.

Alternative I would try the Realtek audio driver directly. Maybe on the Web from Realtek site, you can find a newer version.

Good bye

  • Satellite L500-1XL - does boot and the screen stays black

    Hello

I have a Satellite L500-1XL, when I turn it on the fan and lights and the hard drive light blinks several times then nothing, he's not going to the Toshiba screen remains black screen, tried ext monitor but still nothing.

The fan always runs very quietly and the hard drive is running in, I put the hard drive in an another L500 and it is very good and can be accessed without problem, it has only 1 stick of 2 GB of RAM DDR3 and the other L500 I is DDR2 so I can't try to change the RAM. If I remove the ram should it beep or does only desktop computers do this? Mine does nothing when it is removed.

Any help would be very useful, thank you!

    Hi gazzdowzell,

If your laptop doesn t boot it seems to be a hardware bad working it could be everything, motherboard, BIOS, CPU, etc and it is difficult to say what exactly is the problem.

First of all, I would like to try this:
[What steps must be followed if your Toshiba laptop does not start? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=21]

If it doesn t work, please contact a service provider authorized in your country. If your laptop is under warranty, repairs are free.
In addition if you remove the RAM and the beep of t n for laptop, it seems to be another problem. If you have removed the RAM module would be defective, the computer would have a beep.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L500-19 X starts and loads Win 7 always like the first time

OK, so I bought a toshiba satellite L500 - 19 X to the United Kingdom in a store called carphone warehouse.
It came with windows 7 pre-installed.
I wanted the 32-bit version, so he ran faster, but he had installed 64, but came with a 32-bit restore disc.

So I went ahead and restored, now, whenever my laptop starts up, it think it's the first time and load the toshiba implemented and stats to do things then restarts.
He could do this all day until I hit escape and complete the configuration manually.

No one knows how to stop this or I have to buy a full version of windows 7 and start again in this way?

Please please answer now! Thanks in advance guys :)

    Thanks for this info!

  • Satellite A30 PSA33E - his correct and missing on the page of Toshiba modem drivers

    Hello

I just installed XP on a laptop the A30/PSA33E of opportunity (do not have a recovery CD) from scratch.
Also, I added all Toshibas page driver drivers.
Everything worked nice - except the audio and modem (in the list of devices XP exclamation point),
because XP has refused to install the drivers of Toshibas web site ("not the right driver for this hardware").

After investigating the thing more far away (I work as a programmer, so I don't know that sort of thing)
I could understand that XP is right - drivers do not fit the material in my laptop.

For example - PCI vendor-ID for the modem is 0 x 1002, device ID is 0x434D.
But if you look at the ".inf" - files from the (two) avaiable-for the A30 modem drivers
This PCI device is not supported by one of the two drivers.

For audio I could use from the site Web of Realtek audio Realtek AC97 drivers to work around the problem,
but I have no idea on how to find a working driver for the modem (soft-).

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

    Hello

I can't believe that you're not able to install the modem driver.
For several years the A30 and the drivers are available on the market and all the drivers worked.
Yes, I think it s has only an installation problem.

All the drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the correct order!
The chipset utility is important and must be installed at the beginning.

Ask driver for modem? Well, I found the modem drivers Toshiba page for different countries.
For example; the version of the driver 2122ALL05 and 31116ALL5 is available for the United Kingdom. Check these two versions.

To my knowledge the laptop uses a modem chip Askey of Agere Company.
If you want you can search for a driver that supports this type of chip

    Good luck

  • Satellite L500-164 does not start sometimes

    Heyas!

For most laptop does not start on the first attempt. The Power LED lights up, the cooler and the HARD drive start (it looks that they rotate exactly once) and that's it. After a few seconds the laptop turns off again. There is no screen and the LED on the HARD drive also not would light up. If that happens, I start the laptop again and again. In most cases I need to start 2 - 3 times, but once I had to start 20 times until it worked.

I also tried to start just with the power supply (I hope that's the right word for it, I'm German = D) and took the battery out of it, but the result was the same.

But when the laptop finally started, it works without problem.

    Greetings,
    Daniel

It is not easy to say what the problem is but it certainly is hardware related issue and your laptop must be verified by the authorized service partner Toshiba. With the help of diagnostic tools that they can find out why this happens.

Here in this virtual world we can only speculate on the possible reasons.

  • Keyboard and BIOS update issue on Satellite L505-13V

Hello, I have two problems with my laptop.

First is related to the keyboard. It started a few days ago, the laptop has wound down due to low battery, when I turned on it again once, I received a bad operation of the keyboard.
The main problem is that when I type for ex 4, it appears on-screen as r4, and so on for some other keys.
I ' v wanted by web it may possibly be due to the BIOS. And decided to update to the current version.

    And here's the second problem:
I downloaded the update to the bios from the toshiba site and tried to install it, but it stops on the last stage, something of the region.
Could someone please help with questions?

    Hello

    > I got a malfunction of the keyboard.
What message did you receive exactly? This message based on Windows or what exactly?
Of course, it could be a malfunction of the keyboard but software as well. Way simpler to check this must connect an external keyboard.

    > I downloaded the update to the bios of the toshiba site and tried to install it, but it stops on the last stage, something of the region.
Where did you download this patch exactly? This update specifically for Satellite L500-13V and PSLJ0E model series?

  • Satellite L500 and retrieval of records

    Hi all

I just bought a L500 and I realized that my system is 64 bit, but the recovery disc that came with it is 32-bit.
Does that make the whole any differece? Should I contact Toshiba for a 64-bit recovery disc or is it possible that I can create a recovery disk?

    Thank you

    Vini Cruz.

    Hey Vini Cruz,.

I checked the specifications of some models of Satellite L500 on Toshiba website and it seems that some are equipped with 32-bit recovery disc and the preinstalled operating system is 64-bit.

If you want a 64-bit recovery disc, you will need to create it by yourself using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. It creates an image of the OS 64-bit factory settings which is the same as 32-bit but only 64 bit ;)

  • Satellite L500 is not enabled switching

    Hi all

I'm new to this forum. I got a Toshiba Satellite L500 attempt to fix and the fault is that the laptop has been stopped normally and now will not light.

I checked the power adapter that is giving 19.25v. I have stripped the laptop down to the motherboard and checked where the DC plug is soldered to the motherboard and who also reads the 19.25v with the adapter plugged. Can someone suggest a possible cause.

First impressions are a failure of the motherboard, but other ideas are welcome.

    Gary

Your description is OK, but we still Don t know some facts.

When the laptop is connected to power supply is power laptop LED works or not?
    Battery is RUN on (load)?

This way virtual, we can only speculate what may be the problem, but if there is no power there problem with electronic control gear and, I fear, you need professional help with this m.

  • Re: Satellite L500 - fan power switch every 5-10 seconds

    Hello

    I have a new Toshiba satellite L500 1XX with i3 and I installed the 32 bit OS.
Starting from the first start, the fan is acting strange every 5-10 seconds it started working for 5-10 seconds then stops for 5 to 10 seconds, then again, who's going all the time even if the flurry of the laptop stand out with something.
I think that something is wrong, but was not able to find it. Please I need help
    Thank you

    Hello

That's ok with your laptop. My satellite that a500 is also like that, even if I surf the Internet, watch movie and CPU shows only 5%. I don't play all the games. It didn't because of the dust because I clean it regularly, installed all the drivers, BIOS updated. The only way to make it quieter to run the fan at a constant speed as 54%, I simply load the CPU with some applications that maintains fan runs almost every time and not boring perceptible noise.
You can play with the power settings in the power management, but in my case it does not help. And do not decide yet upgrade the Bios, it don't improve you but can kill your knees so wrong.

    Bazlaha, ahi!

  • Satellite L500-1ZR - battery died during the first installation

    Hello

I really hope someone can help me.

During the first time I started my new Toshiba Satellite L500-1ZR battery died and my laptop turns off. I was in the middle of the installation and now when I start it, it gives a word of warning: "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. "However, when I click OK it restarts and I find myself the exact same caveat. I tried F2 and F12 to see if he had options to do a startup repair and also I inserted a disc on which I downloaded a hardware configuration, but it won't work.

Anyone got some ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi belisu,

The advanced boot menu, you can access via the F8 key before Windows starts.
With the F2 and F12 button, you can access the BIOS menu and start.

So try to use the F8 key to access the Windows Advanced Boot menu and try to start the Windows repair option. It starts from Toshiba HARD drive recovery and restore settings factory.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite L500 - always gel

I bought a Satellite L500 and brought home the first day I froze, the only way to turn off was the off button. Luckily the store kindly replaced for me. A second Satellite L500, home and the next day, he does the same thing! It froze and I rang toshiba and they told me to run the recovery disk, I did and it froze again after recovery?

Well, I went back to the store and they still kindly exchanged for another L500 (why should I care). Now 4 weeks later after good its gel began again. Now, it's a big problem! I am so disappointed with Toshiba and quite bored of to. I rang them a duty ship and telling me to pay a 82 dollar and its under warranty. It is not constrained that needs a United Student!

I decided to google these L500 series, and apparently it's quite common the freezing thing? Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Hey Buddy,

I m really been wondering about this. A friend of me bought Satellite L500 3 months ago and everything works correctly. He has never had a problem with this laptop and it works really well!

May I ask if you connect devices external, mouse, keyboard, screen, etc. ? If Yes, you should remove all.
As Akuma, which other applications installed and does freeze in BIOS too?

  • Satellite L500 - Webcam is grainy

Yes as shown, I have recently purchased a Toshiba satellite L500 on a month and half ago.
When I used the webcam it was fine, but then, all of a sudden it seems he has turned REALLY grainy, especially when, in low light conditions where it is used to good work and be clear and sharp.

I tried to uninstall the toshiba webcam software, the driver for the webcam and reinstall both without success. I can say that I have nothing to make this happen. The computer that is running windows vista.

I uploaded a picture for comparison as to how it was first and how it is now, I hope that someone on this forum can help me to solve this problem without having to climb on toshiba.

Thanking you in advance for reading and your answers.
    Zach.
    [Comparison of Webcam | http://i50.tinypic.com/2wftslx.jpg]

(Note on this not too grainy picture sound I have a lamp just next to me, but too low light, it darkens the bunch and will really grainy)

(I tried to change all the settings I can find any avil is, as you can prob see its less sharp, gritty, and the colors are disabled).

    Hello

As far as I know the quality of the image depends on the light conditions of the surrounding area.

    Have a look here:
+ Bad image quality when using the internal webcam under dark light conditions +.

Also check this doc from Toshiba:

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9402LC0000R01.htm

You can try to activate the Mode night in the webcam settings.
To do this check the doc above.
