Satellite M70-367: Question on change of keyboard

Is it possible to change the Sam tosh m70-367 English keyboard with a German keyboard with battery point | mouse, same as the old tosh satellite 2800-500 keyboard?

I prefer the battery point | for the touchpad, this conversion is possible.

thanx

Hello

You can change the layout of the keyboard, but you must use the same model of keyboard. In this case, it of not possible to use a keyboard with the battery point function because an old doesn't support this function.

  • Satellite M70-192 - question of HARD drive replacement

    Hello...

It's just my first time to ask for help in this forum... and besides, in any forum on the whole wide net.
So, sorry if am don't do this right... that's...

My brother bought a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M70 - 192 psm71e-01k00rar) of the Kuwait around 2006. A few months ago we started hearing "noise noise deaf deaf" - ing sound inside the camera and the screen is just deleted (there was an error message that is encrypted but I wasn't able to note it). I was able to boot from the DVD or USB drive. So I thought that maybe the hard drive has been the only problem.

I put in a new HARD drive (a 320 GB western digital scorpio wd3200bevt) and started to reinstall the system (I forgot which of the 2 supplied Toshiba cd I inserted first - media cd or the windows xp CD-ROM) but in the middle of installing the keyboard area was so hot that I unplugged / stop the laptop immediately.

After that, the HARD drive has become invisible to any Linux or rescue CD or utility of HARD drive that I tried to boot from... (fortunately?) The said HDD vendor as the HARD wd scorpio drive + really + defective and they replaced...

    * now the questions: * I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd scorpio *(.55 amp) *. Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?
    Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
How can I _properly_ replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?

Please note that before I bought the new HARD drive, I ve read somewhere in the "net I could use a disk sata2 on a sata1 controller, etc. + * pls help!" * +

Toshiba services are simply too expensive for me right now if will send it (cell phone) in a licensed shop. Why I'm in DIY mode that s. I don't think I can afford an another fried Scorpion!

    Thank you!
    yours,
    TAC

    > I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd Scorpion (.55 MPA). Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?

I don t think that a larger and faster HARD drive might be the reason for the higher internal temperature.
You said that you have heard and his strange "noise noise deaf deaf." Such sound could be created by the defective cooling module. A defective module could be responsible for the highest internal temperature

    > Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
    Here's your second thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=150272
You can see that the SATA2 is compatible to the bottom and the s SATA2 HARD drive would work with common controller SATA HDD.

    > How can I properly replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?
Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult. I see that you have already found the HARD drive Bay and bought a HARD drive.
In your case I recommend using the common SATA 2.5 HARD drive with 100 GB maybe 120 GB.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M70 354: how to change the display?

    Hello!
My TFT-Display of my Satellite M70 354 is physically broken. So I need a new. The Servicepartner costs of a new view without working time are EUR 450,-(!). It's too.

Is a change to myself as possible, or is it very difficult? On Ebay, I found a screen, compatible with an M70... What is important in changing the display?

    Maybe you can help me.
    Thank you!

You should know that the display is one of the parties outside the laptop computer motherboard expensive.
The costs are huge, as you can see. Of course the 450 bugs is too but it is a new LCD and additional, you will pay for the technician.

That is why it s a good idea to look for second hand unit. The replacement of the screen is a little tricky. You must remove the plastic frame that attaches around the screen.
The display is usually fixed with 6 screws and connected to the Board of Directors and FL inverter.

I think that you should not replace yourself. I see that you have no much experience on these replacements. So the best idea is to buy a second hand laptop but then to ask a technician for replacement.

  • Satellite M70-340: Question about the warranty if I buy in Russia and move to Australia

I would buy the Satellite M70-340 laptop here in Russia. Next month I'll move to Australia. What the warranty in this case?

Will I be charged if problems occur?
How can I recognize a laptop that is officially sold (= I mean legally delivered and comes with a guarantee in the world)?

Thank you very much for your answer!

To my knowledge, you can save your laptop on the European site of Toshiba for services and extensions of warranty and uprisings.
The serial number of the laptop must be registered generally on this site.
I think you can buy a few additional warranty packages that allow you to get the guarantee availability in the world.

But usually if something goes wrong on the laptop you will need to contact Toshiba authorized service partner in your country.
On the Toshiba support page, you will also find a database for service partners worldwide.

  • Satellite M70-122: Question about the necessary drivers for Win XP Pro

    Hello
I formatted my Satellite M70-122 in order to install Win XP - Pro and so I lost all drivers and programs pre installed. It seems that the recovery CD is of no use in this case, and I was wondering if there was a driver CD, I could order.
I found the drivers (62 so far) for my machine on the Toshiba site and I was as well, I was wondering if I should download and install all. What about programs like the CD/DVD burner?
Where can I get them back?

    Thank you.

    Christophe

    Hello

The Tools & Utilities CD but that contains all the necessary drivers is not delivered with the unit, can be created by the user himself. If the unit is installed with recovery media you can find under Toshiba assist > protect & difficulty > create CD drivers & tools.

All these drivers, tools & utilities that you can use for your own installation. Otherwise you need to download them from Toshiba download page, and please check the instructions facilities document and install all things in order. Order of the facilities is very important.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P20-102: Questions about changing CPU

    Hello

    I have a SP20-102 which has a 3.40 Ghz P4 processor. 800 Mhz FSB, 512 KB L2 cache with HT enabled - I think the sSpec is SL793.

It seems that the cooling mechanism cannot quite in the face of this processor and fan is on a lot, especially when you do any activity of the CPU (for example compile code, etc.).

I assume that it is possible to replace the processor by another, slower.

    My questions are:

    1. what would be the other CPU compatible with this laptop?

    2. is there any particular CPU should I look out for that will run more cold than the current?

    Thank you

    R.

    Hi Robi

I have Satellite P20-303 over two years. The camera is awesome and works perfectly. After a year and a half, I noticed that the unit was a little stronger and ventilation was longer on the maximum speed. I removed the plastic on the bottom which cover three events and found a lot of dust and my cat inside s hair. After the dusting and cleaning of the device was not easy again and the use of every day the unit was not strong.

The physical infrastructure is very well set up and your desire to change CPU is really unnecessary in my opinion. The device, configure on track and enjoy life.

  • Satellite M60: Express Media Player change the keyboard language

Hi, I have a Sattelite M60 & ran the Express Media Player before fully reading the manual. After reading the manual, I notice that I put the keyboard language for eng1 Express Media Player, now which is US format (rather than UK eng2). However, the options for change that are grayed out in the page options. Is it possible to activate these or change the setting of any other way?

Is it really a problem to the Express Media Player for US instead of the language of the UK keyboard? Using the restore CD is not an option, because I've completely implemented my system now.

    Thank you
    Paul

    Hello

I put t have a lot of experience in the Media Express drive but I guess that this setting, you can change at the beginning.
Unfortunately, in this case you need to reinstall the EMP.
I don t think that there is another possibility.

  • Satellite M70-326: Question on the language of the software

    Hi tere!
I bought this laptop from the Germany and now all software is in German, and I don't understand a word in German. If I want to ask is at - there a way to download an English version of the software (TOSHIBA power saver TOSHIBA Touch and launch, TOSHIBA assist...), a language pack, or maybe there is already an English language option (so I need instructions tho change the language). Please help I desperately need to change the language...
    Thank you, Kiro.

    Hi Kiro,

Your laptop is in German because the OEM of Windows license only allows the language to provide according to the country where the appliance was purchased. The best way to get an English version of the operating system is to buy a version of English language of Windows and then download the Toshiba utilities from the web site of Toshiba UK.

This will give you an English version of your laptop.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I found the info you can use batteries to follow: PA3457U-1BAS (8cell) and PA3457U-1BRS (8cell). I don't l? t find the info that you can use better. The battery 8 cells is probably the best you can have.

As far as I know your device must be supplied with DVD-super multi drive and I don? t know what you mean with best. Is it not enough?

    RAM can expand and you can use DDR2 400/533 512 MB (PA3412U - 1 M 51) and DDR2 400/533 module 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G). Maximum RAM for this device is 2 GB.

Other info you can get from your local dealer.

  • How can I change on Satellite M70 keyboard?

I need to change my keyboard of my satellite m70-147. How can I do this? If my dealer should do this I have to drive for a long time.

    Hello

You could probably do this yourself, but you are not certified may void your warranty. One option is to call your ASP and ask if you can send the phone to them. Most is held at this request and it saves time you have to drive. From this website you can find your local dealer and a phone number and mailing address. I hope this helps.

  • Satellite M70: Different signs on keyboard English French with OS

My laptop is Satellite M70 with french keyboard.
I installed Windows XP SP2 with the English language, then I had a problem with the keyboard, when I press a key I get the letter Q and when I press the W button, I get the letter Z...

How can I solve this problem?

This because the OS is using an English keyboard.
Therefore, you must change the language keyboard layout settings in french.
These settings you can find in:
Control Panel regional and language languages tab Details settings button.

There you can set the language of the right keyboard for your laptop.

  • Satellite M70 - down keyboard when the HARD drive gets hot

My Satellite M70-181 begins typing "t" series when you reach the working temperature. In my case, if the HARD disk exceeds a temperature of 48-50 ° C (speedfan).
I replaced the original Travelstar with a new HDD Samsung, but it becomes so hot that precedes it and the blackout keyboard still appears.
Because the processor is idle most of the time, the fan is too slow. But the fan doesn't seem to affect the temperature of the HARD drive in any case.
Any ideas anyone? (Sorry for this kind of English...)

    Frank

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem with keyboard only when the temperature is raised to a higher level?

To be honest, I have never experience this problem and I can't believe that a higher temperature of HARD drive could affect the functionality of keyboard

However, maybe you should clean the grids and the cooling fans. The notebooks are clogged with dust and don t cooling modules work properly.
Use a jet of compressed air which should help to remove dust, I think this should help to reduce the internal temperature.
